Hey! I am a software developer who also happens to like fighting games a lot! I play some other types of games though. The purpose of this channel is to publish edited footage of my gameplay, mostly gameplay that you can see on my Twitch channel: www.twitch.tv/luigifgc
It would mean the world to me if you can like, subscribe and comment, I'll try to interact with all of my comments as much as I can!

The Importance of The KOF Zone
This is an edited version of my stream where I helped a player understand the concept of the KOF Zone by doing a replay review. My intention with this video is to help other players to understand how to play this game's neutral a little bit better and hopefully to motivate more people into playing the game!

Is KOF Neutral...Random?
Переглядів 20 тис.10 місяців тому
Lately I've been seeing a lot of people that either play or watch KOF and come to the conclusion that it seemed extremely random. So I decided to make this video to discuss such claims and also give a brief explanation on how the neutral works in KOF, with some beginner tips and a high level analysis! KOF XV has over 57 characters and it can be quite hard to know which character will suit you best your team. So I decided to make a complete character overview of the game with all the DLCs included. I'll update this guide as more DLC characters come out and if you have any questions please ask right away in the description below. I think Hinako is better than Clark... So many paths to big damage now. Shermie should go down one rank because really, she's a pretty fair character *coughing*
Problem is Clarks neutral is still waay better: better grounded pokes in terms of range and speed and better air to air combat. Both areas are places where Hinako lacks, sure she compensates by having a more complete offensive pack, but if you have to work harder for it then that by itself makes you worse I believe. Is kinda like Najd, her offensive package is absolutely insane, but all other characters above her have to work less to get that done.
Hello, thanks for the Vid. i have a question for you. Using Rock if I press A button several times I end with his climax, why is that and how to stop it or cancel it?
@@josephhaddad9069 In this game there are autocombos if you press standing A several times in a row. In the tutorial I believe that theres multiple enders like doing lvl 1 or a special instead. But overall is not recommended that you use autocombos. The way you avoid this is by cancelling it into a crouching normal, use stand B instead, cancel it into a special or just do nothing for a few frames and then go with the same or another normal, but never use standing A into another standing A
After years of playing casually, I've accepted this game's neutral is to overwhelm your opponent so there's no neutral 😂 And playing Chris, I will only jump CD

Oooohhh boy, this looks to be JUST the video I was looking for. Been struggling a lot to understand "why do I lose like every single button interaction? Wth?" and as much as I love KoF, it's been real frustrating. We've got some studying for tonight!
Okay, so between looking at this one and Rooflemonger's video on the same topic I actually had a much better time last night trying to understand the interactions I think I'm in a somewhat transitional period, my own "King of Fighters Awkward Teenage Phase". Been a fan of the series for a long time (heck, shoutout to 2001) but never really had the chance to be fighting people before and while I set in a good rhythm in 15 fairly early, that got me into some bad habits and now I've been running into people that know how to abuse them Doesn't help that I basically only play grapplers so this becomes pretty crucial to get right, and Hinako's arms and legs are so, so short (except her 3C, that button is a menace) So, yeah... still got bopped, still getting the brain to click just right but I feel like I could think about my interactions way better and start actually making more conscious decisions and assessments (i.e: "Oh, so I hopped and got bopped. I was on the defensive, fishing for an in, so maybe a neutral jump CD was the safer choice here") Definitely a must watch for people wanting to get to grips with KoF <3
me encantan muchisimo tus videos como siempre y nos ayuda a elegir el personaje ideal para KOF... sigue asi Luigi gracias
Here's a better awnser Kyo kusanagi even by This games standards is Very stubby Everyone in kof franchise attacks only hit point blank further than point blank the kof community would call that move overpowered in range 🤣 Edit: that's factual but that does not Mean is absolute there's characters that are considered annoying or overpowered because they're moves hit further than point blank
Amazing guide bro. One of the best I’ve seen on UA-cam I’m wondering if you got a guide or if I could find like a template online of what characters are best suited in the point, mid and anchor positions in a team comp
Thank you! Atm the best source is probably Dream Cancel but I do plan on reuploading this video once Mature and Vice release, and that will also have my opinions on the best positions for each character. But of course if are interested in a few characters I mentioned and wonder whats the best position for each I'll gladly help
this feels like someone who plays kof and doesn't play any other snk fighters. Silvie paula paula over Gato? B.Jennet? Haohmaru? Rock Howard? I'll pass shermie and chris because yashiro could be a favourite of 3.
This was made more so as a tier list type of meme lol, I hate Sylvie with all of my heart but sadly it is just the truth that she is probably the most busted DLC after Geese
Hello, new player here. Can you make the guide how to approach the opponent? My opponent is just running away with just spamming a safe special moves and seems like i can't punish it for a reason (idk maybe it's still plus on block or something) and after that they just roll away/sweep spam and i can't do anything. Like my opponent refuse to play neutral and just playinh a cheap tactics. How do i counter that? Thanks!
Yo! As I mentioned in the video, one of the things that you can do against someone that runs aways too much is let themselves push into the corner. Either 1 or 2 things will happen: they eventually get to the corner in which case they can't run away anymore or they suddenly go in. If your opponent tends to do a special and then roll away then you can counter it by running and grabbing the roll or straight up full combo punish it but it also depends on which special you are talking about. Sweeps fortunately are counterable by hopping, although it also depends as some sweeps are so fast that are effective as frametraps, in which case you can either just block or DP. Just make sure to still play around the KOF Zone when you let your opponent push themselves and be patient, a good runaway player makes you think precisely that your best course of action is to rush in blindly so don't fall into that cheap trap.
@@luigifgc7485 Yo thanks for the reply! i guess i need to be more patient after all! Btw are you gonna make another guide for KOF in the future? i'm looking forward to it :)
@@fallenrynchan7077 I plan to reupload my character overview guide once mature and vice release, aditionally theres a new video I've been working on but it's been on pause because of some irl stuff. But after that, I'll probably shift my focus to Garou
fantastic video. subbing,
Rivals of Aether neutral
Great analysis
Finally someone who can explain KOF has the neutral gameplay from the classics like Street Fighter but with faster reactions, LOTS of movement options, and even with an extremely rushdown gameplay, there are still great defensive tools. There are characters who are pretty solid for neutral and poking (Kane pre-XV version, Vice, Mature, Mr. Big, Daimon, Elizabeth, Yashiro/O.Yashiro, etc.) and others who rely in air pressure by mixing hops and jumps. Pretty nice analysis, parcero, hope more people can understand more basics from KOF. I know for us who started playing these games since their release time, we rarely (if ever) went into full analysing the game this deeply but just finding out what was safe and what wasn't, just like the old times. But now that everyone is using frames/footsies/neutral, etc.I think this can illustrate the basics.

mr. swag himself!
Such a good video, with every guide you make i get hyped and motivated to pick up back kof.
Good stuff buddy
gracias bro, sigue así❗
Yup need more of this content
I find that there is a severe lack of English content for this game
@@hipsterroxas2626 try to do what I can to fill that gap, appreciate your support!
need to study this for VSF cheers for the vid Luigi!
Man I wish KOF was more popular in the English speaking world. Or we at least got dedicated crossplay with good netcode. Hard times! Great explanation vid
Kof XV has pretty solid netcode + crossplay
Maybe KoF is too hard for them. I wish KoF is as popular as in 90's
omg are you doing these regularly? this is so cool, thank you
You mean the replays? I tend to review them when they send me one and I can either do it on stream on just send notes via DM if you are not comfortable with it being streamed
@@luigifgc7485 yes, the way you analize here how to protect your space and how to be defensive was just gold
make more kof vids more often please

Wake up babe, Luigi just posted another KOF video 🗣️🔥🗣️🔥
You helped me realize how much I appreciate a well-rounded mid-range character. I didn't realize my favorites were all so similar in style. My most played are: Terry, King, Yuri, Khronen, Rock, Ángel. Cheers!
thank you!

Great vid!
Amazing video my guy, ver nice breakdown for the fgc community outside KoF
Q guapo el vid
Absolutely loved this and character overview video. Hope KOF in Eu grow so I can get it instead of only watching
KOF in EU is def growing! We have a biweekly tournament, new people are trying the game and 2 eu majors will have kof and both are SWC Qualifiers! Im attending both 😁
Please help with unlocking characters. I'm struggling
What an awesome intro to what makes KOF so unique!!
the beginning of description is exactly what happens to me!
Nice video Luigi
Hello everyone! I am aware that Hinako and Duo Lon are missing from this video, I am still waiting on EVO Vegas to see if they announce anything else for this game, if not, I'll reupload it with both hinako and duo lon, team building recommendations and both english and spanish subtitles!

I love kof ❤
Great concept and lessons in this video! Lots of good stuff here and I hope it puts some people onto this wonderful game
This is actually the perfect video. Great stuff.
I finally had time to watch it❤ what an amazingly well explained video! Thanks! I learned a lot!
since when is KOF random? characters have move sets and unique animations for a reason, the only time ive ever encounter randomness would be Shingo's "Critical Hit" gamble lmfao
Damn bro this is perfect in introducing KOFs neutral game and the mind games that go on. The high level analysis was icing on the cake. Let us see all the things you were talking about being used to a high degree.
I remember watching this game on a random stream at a local and thinking “what the fuck is going on here” but honestly I’m inspired to try it. My big breakthrough with fighting games was from strive and I’ve been loving sf6 but I’m kind of looking for something different. Biggest thing I like about streets is how important meter economy is on top of a bigger emphasis on neutral rather than just pressure. KOF seems to have that but instead of being a slow footsies game just an air based neutral (at least for the most part dont assassinate me on overgenralizing). Plus I haven’t played a team game yet. Good video man.
hablas español verdad
