That was Danton, a major political rival to Robespierre. Dantons famous last words to the executioner were "show my head to the people, it's worth seeing".
The first one is Camille Desmoulins, he is calling out the name of his wife Lucile. She was sentenced to death and executed the same way a month or two later, to prevent her from carrying on the political work of her killed husband (also, Robespierre and his fellas didn't like women to be politically active)
There was alot of head raising to the people back then. The banging of drums. Marie Antoinette October 16th 1793, Louis 16th January 21st 1793, Danton April 5th 1794 and Robespierre July 28th 1794. All there heads were raised to the people.

What makes it worse is his young sister would hear his screams daily from being tortured. The barbarity during the French revolution was DISGUSTING! Look up the story about the Martyrs of Compiegne...absolute disgrace what happened to them. The men in the crowd should've rose up and stopped that before that could be carried out

No, that's not Robespierre. He's the one who sent these men to the scaffold, and he had a little over hundred days left in power at this point before he landed in the same place.
These two are Camillle Desmoulins and Georges Danton. Desmoulins' wife Lucile, whose name he is calling as he dies, was executed a week later to make sure she would not try to keep up her husband's legacy.

Political reasons; "During the Reign of Terror, Maximilien de Robespierre made it his duty to seek out any individuals who disagreed with or criticized the French Revolution. Those who were found guilty of this behavior were thrown into prison or killed."
They had been outmaneuvered in the fighting at the political top by their old friend Robespierre, and he got them sentenced for treason (I think) which of course carried the death penalty. Robespierre himself would land in the same head-cutter barely four months later, when the fear of other people close to him of being sent to the guillotine had become present enough to drive some of them to unite and get rid of the man: he was, for good measure, sentenced to death for treason and chopped the next day.
It should be added that the two men who are killed here, Desmoulins and Danton, were cold-blooded revolutionaries and had helped send many people to the guillotine in the eight months or so before they finally lost the game. They had nothing against the idea of terror used to weed out political rivals or "counter-revolutionaries".
