    Novel approach. Different idea to a camp setup.
    Good use of rope and knots.
    Lot of work but then so is life.

    It's certainly a novel shelter approach, although getting up to relief yourself in the middle of the night might be a challenge (unless you just "dump" it overboard). I don't think it would be very practical for a single-night camp, though.

    Why was my first question. After a few seconds I thought what an unnecessary question. I found through your work how limiting questions are. You went beyond conventional thought and built something we all want to spend time in but refuse to invest the time in. The meal, tools and utensils were beautiful. Thanks for a personal lesson.

    For the first coupke of minutes, it looked like you were weaving a web to catch a sasquatch for dinner. When you kept climbing higher, though, it seemed more like you you trying to make sure you were so far up there that he couldn't goose you while you were sleeping, even with a running jump.
    If approached by a mountain lion while hiking to your campsite, just roll that huge ball of rope at the cat. It will chase and play with the yarn instead of you.

      @@MasoudInNature Submitted respectfully, your safety is your own concern but here are a few things that I would address.
      Invest in better rope. While I agree using what is to hand is likley better than sleeping with bears, there is no point taking risks in demonstration. Forgive me if I'm wrong but it appears to be a fairly thin natural fibre rope. There are a few factors acting on this rope, firstly using it in this configuration actually puts a lot of leverage onto the rope ( see rigging bridle calcs for info) plus the knots weaken the rope. Different knots to different degrees but I'm guessing from the slackness of the lines that an afternoon spent practicing knot's wouldn't go amiss. The third factor is just simple abrasion, you are standing, moving and working on these lines.
      All of this is mitigated by a stronger rope. Something else you may want to consider is the consequences of a snapped line at height. If the lowest line snaps, probably not so bad. As you gain height though you now have lines underneath you, which if the line you are on snaps, won't be enough to catch you with the momentum you have now gained. It will be enough however to catch your feet as you fall and ensure your head/upper body is the first part to land.
      A good rope will serve you very well, don't take risks you don't have to. Thats my 2p

  • @VictoryDave999
    @VictoryDave999 2 місяці тому

    Found this to be ridiculous. Who carries that amount of rope? And once cut it becomes somewhat useless . The whole concept seems a bit weak. Winds,heavy rain, heavy snow, lack of heat , etc.
