He’s willing to cheap out on the ingredients to save food costs without realising that the people that are interested in eating at the breakfast bar on a regular basis want that level of quality. Those options get cut back or swapped out for lesser grade options and they won’t stick around.
@@wolfengod8277 In a fast food setting that dreams of scaling on a franchise model it is more effective and streamlined if you use mass commercial ingredients for which you will never have a stock issue.
I love it when the they say we started at 0 and our sales are up 50%. When you start at zero, It's pretty east to get 50% increase. Know a 50% year one to two increase would be worth talking about. I have watched many of these, and Shark Tank and Dragons Australia. These folks just don't like franchises.

i think the price is very cheap compared to other fast food. i also wonder how many staff he has. If he worked alone he could save on staffing costs. That is awful no wage for 2 years.
I came to the comments to get that answer. This was one where I really wanted the entrepeneur to succeed after the Den rejected him. A lovely guy, a hard worker, and a very good business idea. So sad that it folded. I hope he's gone on to something successful.

I appreciate entrepreneurs, but it's so unconscionable to put your house on the line when you have a family. Shame on him! He should not be thinking at all about expanding when he hasn't even taken a salary. He's desperate and trying to get cash anywhere he can. I feel sorry for his family.
That is usually the way. These so-called entrepreneurs think they are business geniuses and sacrifice their family’s security for a get rich quick scheme.
I'm sorry, but when you haven't worked in 2 years, and your house is on the line and you're 1 flu away from everything falling apart - you don't have a baby. What a stupid thing to do. The guy's gotta be desperate and his wife should be knighted as a freaking national treasure.
What that Dianne Bruckner has to add to this I really do not know. As far as I understand this, she is a no-one, with nothing to add at all. Someone correct me please.
She's the host/narrator. The US version has one, you just don't see him in front of the camera. The UK version has one that used to be seen on camera but not anymore. He's in the back. These shows need narration, that's why they hire them.

In the British version I couldn't ever imagine the dragons telling the entrepreneur to get rid of the organic ingredients
Kevin literally only cares about making money, anyone who has a product that’s more expensive because of a social cause he is offended by
Yeahh

As he says "I'm happy" his voice cracked and he started to cry.
"Three Dragon's have been CeReAl kIlLeRs."
Haha ohh boy
I’m wheezing.
Jenny from UK Dragon's Den teleport's in: "this is a fantastic idea, so I'm out."
Oh so they have a Barbara as well?
i was in the middle of drinking some coffee and almost splattered it reading this . lmfao
Kevin: Food is excellent. For that reason I'm out. *And takes a big bite of the food*
Is Kevin the Canadian shows version of Jenny? 😂
@@Ven1Vid1Vici not really
Why not just upcharge the organic option?
Problem solved.
And cereal is so cheap!
It's a buffet. Not a la carte.
But he's literally the owner so he can change it to a la carte so... That's not the reason lol. @@garbygarb31
In Canadian dragons den, one dragon goes out and the rest follow suit within seconds with little to no reason
Its still worth watching but its the worst. Kinda boring.
If there’s another lockdown then the breakfast business is toast
$3.95 per unit is way too cheap for that product. He should be charging $5.95 minimum for that - what Starbucks charges for the same thing.
This is a 14 year old episode from season two price’s hadn’t inflated the way they are now also eating organic wasn’t as mainstream
Agreed.
But he's no Starbucks
"I've spent $250000 and not taken even a salary for 2 years." Not exactly a compelling business proposition lmao
This is what Peter Jones love to see - go all the way.

He should have fit a flow signal on the cereals
Or maybe bring in Rory for some seaweed options.
3.99 even in Canadian money is a lot for a bit of cereal.
Not even a Good bye! Just walks out!

@Joe Marley nothing to do with this cereal bar story

Not surprised.

how tf is a cereal fast food running 40% food cost when legit restaurants with a wide array of products can run under 30?
I hope that this guy can find a way to get his costs down and make some reasonable coin ?

Does anyone know if this guy made it? Is the cereal bar still around?

OMG, it’s cereal. Ridiculous. You can buy a whole box of cereal for his price for one serving.
I think he could sell it for $5 each
Would you really pay $5 + tax for a cup of celeals?
