A good old british punk band from the late 70's : like disco, punk didn't survive long after the 80's... A nice song from this era is "Troops of tomorrow", by The Exploited...and of course, songs from : the Sex Pistols, and The Clash... UK was quite rebellous, in some ways, until Thatcher ,"the iron b.tch", turned it into a copy of US...
Hi there, I'm really glad to finally hear your opinion on CRASS! This is definitely a deep song. Even though its lyrics might initially seem like basic punk rock, you can see it's far from simple punk. What we call anarcho-punk dives into political statements rather than just rejecting society outright. One thing I might add: while Steve Ignorant and CRASS as a whole are obviously against religions, this song criticizes the Church more than religion itself. Most CRASS songs are nihilistic manifestos advocating for individual consciousness. There’s so much more to say about this band. They founded their own independent record label to resist the mainstream appropriation of punk by the music industry, ensuring that deep political statements could remain alive in punk instead of being watered down to something "acceptable." They even critique the punk movement itself, famously saying, "(Punk) is just another cheap product for the consumer head," flipping the middle finger at bands that sold out, like The Sex Pistols or The Clash. I hope you’ll give some of their other songs a try. Bloody Revolution, for example, isn’t just against revolutions-it’s explicitly critical of ideological fascism, including anarchism. Thanks so much for your reaction!
What a surprise! Never thought you would listen to Crass… my favourite is bloody revolution…(not just because I’m French 🤣) I really enjoy your vids, thanks a lot 😉👌🏻👊🏻
