We had our Tandem out there in October. Breakfast burritos at that coffee shop were pretty great and the Friday (?) night music and dancing in the square was off the hook! We did NOT do that climb. But we did enjoy the scenery while patronizing the purple fingered farmers of dry creek! Keep the videos coming!
In Donegal ,after rain and wind for the past three weeks....today we have snow and wind. Storm just sweeping through. You have such perfect conditions for the bike..not forgetting perfect terrain. I think you nailed it with your description. A hard effort on the bike,or good ride is a great way to ‘Reset’..’Reboot’..the mind and our lingering mental cloud. A very positive ‘Great Reset !’ Good ride with the Strava.

There's a dirt road connecting Geyserville to Pine Flat Road. I'm not sure if it's private but some people appear to have ridden it. I'm curious if you've ever checked it out.

We have some really warm weather here in northern Germany, too! 😊Its 11degrees + Celsius and we start sweating as well 🥵. Mrs Cools was only 45 seconds behind you and I am sure she is the Queen of all mountains! If it was colder out you could say it was ice in your mustache, but obviously it is age related. I used to have a full red beard and reddish hair. Now I have a grey beard and grayish blond hair. I prefer to shave regularly so I don’t have to be reminded of my age all of the time. I really like that ride. I have next week off, so I think I might just try that one out. Thanks…
I was horrified at the suggestion that Burt's facial hair was false, but you may have a point. I looked like it was falling off. By the by, the weather there looks lovely, we've had about 4 weeks of high winds & rain, punctuated by low winds and drizzle...come on spring!
Thanks! She's running the Nitto B132's. They're a long reach, shallow drop, parallel bar with a slight flare. One thing to keep in mind with these is the width is measured at the drops, not at the hoods. A 40cm bar is actually more like a 37 cm bar.
Something I noticed in earlier videos, but noticed it again today. I think you both have the nose of the saddle pointed upward(too much) . This causes the pelvis to rotate bachwards and "increases" the reach to the handlebar. It also puts a lot of strain to the back because you have to round it to get to the bars. It also influences the agility of handling the bike which can be seen in downhill clips in earlier videos. The nose of the saddle should be tilted down slightly, in my opinion. But almost all bikefitters will advise the same.
@@VincentVanWersch maybe for the plastic based triangle "seats" most people ride. Not leather supple hammocks though, you are just assuming since the nose is up the saddle is tilted back, but where you sit is actually flat, try riding a leather saddle nose down, it sucks and looks terrible. Read Grant's book.
@@glenzigdan i checked the set up procedure for Brooks saddles, but I can't find where it says "nose should be tilted up". What I found was "saddle horizontal" also for Brooks. But I don't care about the saddle brand, I care about the posture of the rider on the bike, I care about the optimal position on the bike to transfer power and handle the bike. This position/posture should avoid unnecessarily strain on the back and other body part.
