this was a great combo, I used to dread GR2, but have finally learned how to drive them

GR2 and GR1 make for some very exciting races! Honestly the biggest thing to get used to is to keep proper throttle discipline especially in the lower gears. Gears 1&2 are going to have a torque spike that kinda comes outta nowhere when it kicks in too, so the torque curve is not as "linear" as Gr3 and Gr4.

It was the same with me, was not looking forward to race that week, but got a okay feeling for the gr.2 cars and got a feeling for a track that I had never driven before. It turned out to be epic for racing gr.2 cars (as long as I keep the car on the road😅). But Rory you did a strong race there! 😃

Still quite strange that no maker of racing games has managed to make engine sounds that sound realistic. It can not be that difficult
No expert, but it might be more down to compression of the sound to make it usable for the program or hardware system itself. Uncompressed audio files are massive, especially highly detailed ones, so compromises are made to allow for disk space and being made quickly accessible.

What I was trying to convey was that an uncompressed, large audio file, while accurate, would be harder for lower end systems to use in real time. A compressed, smaller audio file is not as accurate but would allow lower end systems to use it better. Knowing this a balance is needed.

How does "you're getting me good kudos" equal "thanks for the points"? Based on what you said when you read the chat burst in real time at 1:40, it sounds more like he's feeling a little bit proud to have qualified just behind you, as though that in itself is an achievement, and not that he's going to beat you. Watching his car twitch the whole race also makes me think he's on a controller instead of a wheel, and if that is the case, I'd feel a bit proud too.
Kudos refers to Kudosprime, a website that tracks your driver rating. And Berz is well known in the community for being a massive twat - both on track and in chat. This is something like his 4th account that i know of, because he keeps getting banned.

Can someone please explain how do penalties work in GTS? I’ve driven so cleanly, haven’t overtaken in yellow flag zones, haven’t crashed into anyone or anything, haven’t taken any shortcuts, my car complies with regulations, then I get to the finish and go from 4th to near dead last because of a massive amount of penalties?! I don’t even know why!!! It’s hugely frustrating
Are you pitting during the races? Most of the daily races require you to stop once - if you don't, you get a *1 minute* penalty!

I've been meaning to comment on Berz for ages, on the fact that he is the biggest bottle job ever. Seen so many vids from Tidge, Super Gt, etc where they've started at the back, Berz has been maybe 2nd, 3rd on the grid and by the end of the race, they overtake him! He makes Valteri, Great Qualifier, Goes missing in the race, Bottas look good.. 🤣🤣🤣 And HE trash talked! That HAS made my day. What a pleb..

That was awesome settin up the turns is artiety the horn i tute is at 1 time i ser the 2nd quickest lap at homestead the oroblem was i never played a sony play station ever it was my brotherinlaw bill greene machine and his set up he and the misses went out for diner and when they came home a couple of hours later he told me i set wow the 2nd fastest lap what like that day no he said against the whole world on line huh really he was inundated by people that next week by younger nascar drivers at that time he at on time did the press releases for nascar so it was his shirt i only sewed it together.

This kind of track lends itself to your driving style it seems. Long straights after corner exits make it imperative to get the best exit you can. Braking and hitting your apexes (apex's) is not quite as critical on these kind of layouts. Well done.
