A defender that needs anti-stun (against certain comps) and healing to work decently well just isn't gonna be a good experience in soloQ, but even then the level 8 requirement makes even that a 50/50.

I have just returned 2 weeks ago after game's launch so I might be wrong (almost master rank, which is easy but at least I'm not a total noob, I hope). I bought goodra last week and I feel it's good, not op but good, in my experience it really shines in top lane with a mage buddy who knows how to position himself. Another thing is that goodra is really good at letting regieleki hit the goal, you start fighting in front of regi right next to the goal, when you're getting low you do your ulti ans for the opponents is really difficult to deal with it (slowbro and Charizard can but I'll take those strong unite on the tank every day of the week, if my team take advantage of it of course). I think that minus one level on evolution and moves would be great, maybe make dragon pulse a little bit wider and you get a great defender.
Goodra was my most played pokemon and i completely stopped using it, it was pretty much nerfed when curse items were added and there were no improvements since
a simple fix for the grass thing is they could either make it so when you are full hp it doesn't go off, or, it only heals you while you are under 75% hp. That would honestly be a perfect fix for its passive going off even when it's full or near full hp and it wanting to catch enemies by surprise while in the grass another thing and honestly a lot of pokemon would benefit from this. is getting a boosted auto after using a certain move. Power while in this case would boost goodra so much if it got a boosted auto after power whip hits an enemy. which reduces its cooldowns of its moves
I feel like the special defense penetration from spoon is also a big hindrance to Goodra more so than other defenders, because you have a lot less CC than other defenders, you value comes from your ability to stay in your opponent's face and take hits, Muddy water increases your defenses but it's not as effective against mages, especialy since they all have a stun for some reason
Machamp - lvl 7 or 8 final evo Gengar - lvl 7 or 8 final evo Mamo - lvl 8 final evo Garde - lvl 7 final evo maybe? Ttar - lvl 8 final evo All need a level boost
Some mid game buffs would surely be welcomed! I've had success with goodra so far, favorite build being Dragon Pulse and Acid Spray, but yeah, can get ganked fairly easy if the opponent team is minimally decent and your lane partner is also not too strong.
It needs help in mid game more than early game. It's early game is great with good secure moves, sustain tankiness and engage. It just falls off after it with almost all mons in the game coming online and you are struggling at level 7.
@@lloydter aight I fixed it, absolutely agree, but ended up writing the wrong point of the game haha I’d argue that the second stage Sligoo, once you get one of the main moves, starts to get better, but yeah, still gets overwhelming once the enemies gang up on you
They could rework its passive to where it ALWAYS heals while in tall grass, but the healing effect is weakened. That way Goodra becomes nigh unstoppable when brawling in and around tall grass, that might help it.
Honestly, I started playing Basic attack speed + muddy water + Acid Spray. Rapid, Resonant, Focus. I win most my games, and on the higher end of ranked.
Not only is Goodra a newbie stumper, but it feels like its moves doesn't do much tbh. Both builds kinda keep you alive and are good for keeping enemies in fights for long, but not really anything that would change a team fight.
I would just replace acid spray entirely with a better move suited to it like dragon tail to fling opponents back to be hit by dragon pulse or sludge bomb to lower stats and slow
Honestly, the problem with goodra is that it kit is all about being tanky but it isn't tanky enough. Slowbro is tankier because it heals feels better and also has a OP unite.
I was playing Goodra a lot for a couple seasons and having a lot of fun with it even getting MVP a bunch of times. I’m so disappointed it’s fallen off so hard. 😢
Yeah they made Goodra feel like a Ttar defender , having to get some much dang farm to level up. Need him to get his moves earlier and his unite should be level 8 too, It’s not a crazy ult to be needed to wait that long for it
Dragon pulse is op, but in a bad way. Instead of buffing heals like everyone wanted, the devs decided to buff both dmg and heals. But they left the rest of goodras kit completely untouch ( laking). Here is what they should do. Make vine whip pull no matter where u hit. Increase the range of muddy water and by the love of God have acid spray belly takle 1st then spit. Also, make the basic close range.
I dunno if it’s cus I’m a mobile player but I actually find power whip to be more clunky than acid spray. But, as a Goodra enjoyer, I would love to see some quality of life buffs.
I personally play Goodra like an all rounder. I run 7 pink 3 gray with +200 HP. It is harder to CC so I can still auto quicker against characters like wiggly. I do double stacking. If you can hit those dragon pulses you just don't die.
Somehow whenever I play Goodra I have a great game. Don't always win, but it's always very very good game. It can tank a tone, and I love it. Muddy water my choice almost every time.
Yo, that's the same with Scizor. Never had even close to 50% win rate. And top of that they release heal reduction, it didn't hurt support at all, but destoryed goodra and scizor. Scizor and goodra are the worst draft picks if enemies knows how to draft. Only noobs bans it, and picks it.
I don't think goodra should be lvl 4 and 7, not that it wouldn't make it a better pokemon it absolutely would. But i would rather see goodra's gooey ability get some more nuance, for example i think goodra's sticky effect that applies to enemies should also give it some health back when it hits someone. Its moves and levels are fine for a character that should generally struggle from levels 5-8. Maybe a cool way to buff it would be to give it a native hinderance reduction effect of like 20% or smth, I think that would be much more unique than just make it's mid game better
Totally agree with everything. I also feel that Muddy Water should give a little shield to Goodra since it is supposed to be an improved version of Bubble
I really don't like just making everything evolve earlier. Like, obviously it would be a buff and every pokemon would be better if it evolved earlier, but I really just like the flavor of pokemon evolving at different levels. And especially with 3-stage pokemon, I'm not a fan of it when the middle stage barely exists because you only spend like 2 levels at that stage. Obviously that's not a very competitive mindset, more of a flavor and variety one. But I'd rather have Goodra stay a level 8 evo personally. But if it does get buffed in that way then I won't complain *too* hard, I guess. I do like the idea of giving it the second moves at level 7, but since Sliggoo doesn't learn Power Whip that'd probably not happen without the evo level also getting changed. Absolutely buff the passive though. Its just a little too clunky despite being really good otherwise. And tweak some numbers on the moves up.
Yes I agree I was goodra main but now at higher leagues its pretty difficult to play Its too hard to play with it everyone just stuns you and you need to land moves for heal but stuns makes it 100 times harder It is still a good pokemon when opponent do not have much stun in their team I mean you do get pretty good amount of health and insane healing but whats the benefit when you cant land moves cuz you cant move
Muddy water at level 7 would honestly be really good, I feel like dragon pulse needs a little more than that though. Muddy water/acid spray feels so close to being good, but if you give it better late game boosts and help sliggoo out I think it would be good. I think Dragon Pulse needs to be completely reworked. I think either raise its evo requirements down or buff its stats as sliggoo and goomy Maybe decrease lifesteal and increase damage of dragon pulse? Dragon pulse feels like it does fuck all most games. I get better muddy water/acid spray results. I think dragon pulse needs a rework though, because power whip and dragon pulse always feel lacking. I have matches where muddy spray feels good but dragon pulse feels like it needs a lot more or a complete overhaul Parts of its kit do need a rework though or some of the mons need a global hindrance penalty needs to be applied because this cc meta has gone on too long
I do agree it needs help. But none of it is damage, bulk, cd its literally QOL things. The passive being the biggest problem. I think just doing QOL with it would help it. And level eight is fine it just needs to get the next move at 7 like Dragonite. It could help enough. As we know they have this idea with Pseudo legendary evolving later and being stronger. 8 for pseudo legendary is fine unless its like t-tar or Metagross but even then its worth it in the end. Plus Metagross does get moves earlier and t-tar becomes a powerhouse at 9 so makes sense it gets it other move at that time. Goodra is just awkward with small restrictions for nothing. And of course other defenders just being better kit wise because they aren't selfish like Goodra. Also no one talks about how it got released and they instantly added Lapras which instantly powercrept it 😂
Dont think every defender user requires ep share. I could see why youd think that tho. agree alot with the 13 upgrade tho. I rarely get it with snorlax block + is pretty broken tho so That'd be fun if they changed it.
Aegislash is my personal opinion with wide guard you can endure much and deal high damage because aegislash gain exp very fast unlike other all rounders you can also use gyrados he's quite tanky and with minimum team support you can win every game
Goodra isnt the worst defender because is the Most garbage Mon in the Game, is the worst because the rest of the defender are so much better in their job, a lot evolve Early, a lot has Crazy CC, a can be unkillable with More consistency and can run Exp share without being Useless Big part of the Game
Yeah, I agree. Goodra is a noob trap mon which is OP against noobs but against skilled players, its just so bad. Its so easy to beat them unless your teammates are clueless about that mon. Goodra definitely needs buffs.
Everyone says that gengar is the worst pokemon in the game but for me its definitely goodra. Goodra just isnt threatening, passive sucks, exp hungry with nothing to show for it, and gets rocked by cc. There are way better defenders in the game rn and better all rounders too. Other exp hungry pokemon have better secures and presence on the field. Goodra facing anti-healing is horrible and a good support/defender negates a lot of what goodra wants to do.
It got good early game lane. Its mid game isnt that good, late game is okay if you run dragon pulse. Its one of those pokemon who might be a bit undertuned, but could be hellish if buffed so i like it where it is. And you can't convince me that its worse than greedent
What really annoys me is that on Reddit or UA-cam comments, I can suggest making Goodra evolve at lv7 heck I would even suggest lv6, and people would go. Noooo Goodra is too good. But well on ranked I see this kind of Pokémon get banned cause people think they are OP.
I keep getting teamed up with this player who only plays goodra jungle and WILL steal if anyone calls it. I thought they were a troll but I think they're so serious.... (They are worst on my team every time, regardless of how the match goes)
I'm sorry but you're completely wrong, Goodra doesn't need buffs, it works just fine, I recently battled one that was at like 1/8 of HP (I was a max health Blaziken) and that Goodra healed itself almost to max HP with one dragon pulse, I eventually lost Goodra is a monster against physical attackers, it could evolve before but it doesn't even need it
@@daniellocklear5908 yeah sure, I'll just move while I'm stunned and slowed down because of dragon pulse Plus, the healing takes like one second, if I had no skills available I was unable to run away, we eventually did kill Goodra a couple times but I'm just saying, Goodra can already do so much
No, dont, for the love of god, Cris. This thing does NOT need a buff. Maybe damage wise, but DP healing is so annoying to deal with sometimes. It may not be the best for solo queue but it is soooo good with a proper team setup. Trust me, if this thing gets buffed, we might get an even more stupid overtuned defender mon like Ho-Oh, and NOONE wants that.
DP literally is a Solo Q Move mate. However it is worse than muddy and Goodras only usecase rn is duo qing with a Support and praying the enemy team does not know what they are doing and are uncoordinated.
personally i think dragon pulse should get invulnerability muddy water should do extra damage(i do think muddy water could decrease accuracy like the games) power whip would be cool if it gave shield when the enemies are pulled back and acid spray could do damage over time and overall goodra could get a buff to bulk maybe extra bulk when dragon pulse and muddy water is used
Also YOUR FIGHTING CHAR AND JIGGLY its going to be rough Goodra is a beat down defender. requires teammates with high damage to back it up. BUT people LOVE to run in and try to kill goodra SO they get beat downed and he looks OP but in reality, hes just good at beat downs. catch him alone with no teammates and hes dead just a good solid mon in a meta FULL OF OP DESTROYERS
I think you are crazy for thinking this thing needs buffs, now I’m in masters 1600 nothing to crazy, I don’t main goodra but this tank doesn’t not need any buffs what so ever. Whenever I play with the mon I have ease and whenever I go against the min it’s a moderate difficult challenge taking it down.
Bro idk how wrong this video is, the other day I played a casual game with a friend since he's to low of rank to play ranked with me and we came across a goodra and I'm not joking. At 1 point we had 4 of our team on bottom vs this 1 goodra for a good 30 sec just blasting goodra and we could not take it out. It was so tank and it literally killed 2 ppl and made the other 2 retreat. And I'm master ranked
Nah you guys have some serious SKILL ISSUE. Goodra mid? Make a joke. It is still a good defender, walling many meta picks. You need to play thinking not just headslammer gaming. This is not a mon for just A button pushers.
Goodra is just a noob stomping character. Against enemies that don't know what they are doing, you are god. Against anyone competent, you suffer.
Against a lot of stun it's basically over without anti-stun AND heals, so in soloQ a 50/50 between extreme pain and a stomp (odds WILL vary).
It also doesn't help that TiMi likes to nerf counters to stun for some reason.
@@toasteroven6761Nah! Only in blind picks, in draft they'll just run heal reduction and you'd be useless.

- instead of loosing all of muddy water its Spd stacks all at once, it should loose them one stack at a time
- the healing passive should not active while at full hp, and continue healing while in combat
- the boosted basic should by default attack enemies in melee range, and switch to a ranged boosted if there are none in melee range
- gooey passive should be able to be applied to unstoppably targets
- the rain that goodra creates during its unite move should apply gooey slime affect (although this may be going too far)
That would honestly be a perfect fix for its passive going off even when it's full or near full hp and it wanting to catch enemies by surprise while in the grass
another thing and honestly a lot of pokemon would benefit from this. is getting a boosted auto after using a certain move. Power while in this case would boost goodra so much if it got a boosted auto after power whip hits an enemy. which reduces its cooldowns of its moves
Pseudo-legendaries get their evolutions at 8 or 9. Meanwhile, Machamp gets a move downgrade at lvl 7 and doesn't evolve until lvl 9.
Machamp - lvl 7 or 8 final evo
Gengar - lvl 7 or 8 final evo
Mamo - lvl 8 final evo
Garde - lvl 7 final evo maybe?
Ttar - lvl 8 final evo
All need a level boost
All level 7 (also Dragapult and Garchomp) except Tyranitar that should be 8
Some mid game buffs would surely be welcomed!
@@lloydter aight I fixed it, absolutely agree, but ended up writing the wrong point of the game haha
I’d argue that the second stage Sligoo, once you get one of the main moves, starts to get better, but yeah, still gets overwhelming once the enemies gang up on you
@@Yukisomahira and you need lv13 big powerspike more than other defender to be useful
They could rework its passive to where it ALWAYS heals while in tall grass, but the healing effect is weakened. That way Goodra becomes nigh unstoppable when brawling in and around tall grass, that might help it.
Goodra is a monster against bad players. But against good ones he struggles
Imagine if Dragon Pulse could be controlled, like Ho Oh's Flamethrower
I would just replace acid spray entirely with a better move suited to it like dragon tail to fling opponents back to be hit by dragon pulse or sludge bomb to lower stats and slow
i think goodra it's the worst pick in a non-draft game where you don't know what you are against. but in certain drafts it feels so illegal
Goodra needs to evolve earlier, not have its passive activated at full hp, and be able to attack without the passive ending
As a goodre main i agree with the passive and the level up😢
4:05 how do you keep track of timings like that?
Yeah they made Goodra feel like a Ttar defender , having to get some much dang farm to level up. Need him to get his moves earlier and his unite should be level 8 too, It’s not a crazy ult to be needed to wait that long for it
The could make its basic attack and boosted better and faster? It would be insane if it can apply the goo effect to multiple targets at a faster rate
I also don't feel like helping my team so goodra is perfect
I dunno if it’s cus I’m a mobile player but I actually find power whip to be more clunky than acid spray. But, as a Goodra enjoyer, I would love to see some quality of life buffs.
Goodra used to be my main but man, it’s so mid that I just opt to using blastois
We need a real distance hook in this game like others mobas
Bro the best build for the muddy water movset are the red medals and the strong ribbon or the bandana combined with with some other item
I personally play Goodra like an all rounder. I run 7 pink 3 gray with +200 HP. It is harder to CC so I can still auto quicker against characters like wiggly. I do double stacking. If you can hit those dragon pulses you just don't die.
You should try 7 pink and 2 🔵⚪️🟢 w/ 400 HP 😉
Also muddy water is just better.
Somehow whenever I play Goodra I have a great game. Don't always win, but it's always very very good game. It can tank a tone, and I love it. Muddy water my choice almost every time.
I like a lot of your suggestions. How should Dragon Pulse be improved though? Should it be quicker? Or should it be a targeted move?
Yo, that's the same with Scizor. Never had even close to 50% win rate. And top of that they release heal reduction, it didn't hurt support at all, but destoryed goodra and scizor. Scizor and goodra are the worst draft picks if enemies knows how to draft. Only noobs bans it, and picks it.
Well at least we are calling it mid, it usually goes both ways people call it good or thrash.
Yeah, this pokemon could definitely use some buffs but I do think that dragon pulse's healing could be toned down a bit.
Nah keep it the same
I agree goodra should get a bit of love
I don't think goodra should be lvl 4 and 7, not that it wouldn't make it a better pokemon it absolutely would. But i would rather see goodra's gooey ability get some more nuance, for example i think goodra's sticky effect that applies to enemies should also give it some health back when it hits someone. Its moves and levels are fine for a character that should generally struggle from levels 5-8. Maybe a cool way to buff it would be to give it a native hinderance reduction effect of like 20% or smth, I think that would be much more unique than just make it's mid game better
Its definetly need buff (my boy lapras also need some)
Totally agree with everything.
Yes I agree I was goodra main but now at higher leagues its pretty difficult to play
Its too hard to play with it
everyone just stuns you and you need to land moves for heal but stuns makes it 100 times harder
It is still a good pokemon when opponent do not have much stun in their team
I mean you do get pretty good amount of health and insane healing but whats the benefit when you cant land moves cuz you cant move
I think your all your buff for goodra are good. I would change dragon pulse and make it heal less for more range and it being faster.
Goodra is definitely the worst defender, bad range and sustain with pretty little CC
Thats why i play cookies and resonance gaurd but i do need to rely on my unite for tank and my attkr to back me up
Muddy water at level 7 would honestly be really good, I feel like dragon pulse needs a little more than that though. Muddy water/acid spray feels so close to being good, but if you give it better late game boosts and help sliggoo out I think it would be good. I think Dragon Pulse needs to be completely reworked. I think either raise its evo requirements down or buff its stats as sliggoo and goomy
Maybe decrease lifesteal and increase damage of dragon pulse? Dragon pulse feels like it does fuck all most games. I get better muddy water/acid spray results.
I think dragon pulse needs a rework though, because power whip and dragon pulse always feel lacking. I have matches where muddy spray feels good but dragon pulse feels like it needs a lot more or a complete overhaul
Parts of its kit do need a rework though or some of the mons need a global hindrance penalty needs to be applied because this cc meta has gone on too long
I do agree it needs help.
I rarely get it with snorlax block + is pretty broken tho so That'd be fun if they changed it.
goodra weird it has a strong early game but it needs to be high level
best Pokemon for solo rank push please recommend me
Aegislash is my personal opinion with wide guard you can endure much and deal high damage because aegislash gain exp very fast unlike other all rounders you can also use gyrados he's quite tanky and with minimum team support you can win every game
@@SahilBhai-oj8wg blaziken
Great secure, good ripping, good sustain, great damage, good mobility, has it all
Charizard for new players
Bleziken for advanced players
My goodra is 63% winrate, i always feel unkillable, i run mostly muddy whip.
I play Goodra quite well, although Goodra is definitely lacking in some areas but I do not see it as the worst defender
Goodra isnt the worst defender because is the Most garbage Mon in the Game, is the worst because the rest of the defender are so much better in their job, a lot evolve Early, a lot has Crazy CC, a can be unkillable with More consistency and can run Exp share without being Useless Big part of the Game
whats a good goodra build??
I know it is mid but damn fighting against it at times is just miserable XD
Now do a showcase for Lapras aswell 🔥🔥🔥
Does not need a buff man such an annoying pokemon to play against especially if they have an ex pokemon.
This proves you're shit at the game
Yeah definitely goodra needs some buffs. but u know there are enough people that are like: NOOooo GoOdRa Is tO oP dOnT bUff it.
I would buff the shit out of Goodra. Both it and Lapras need help, but more so Goodra.
Goodras so tanky yet so easy to kill
should be called "Badra" at the moment.
That gardevoir was so disgusting lol
I'm sorry but you're completely wrong, Goodra doesn't need buffs, it works just fine, I recently battled one that was at like 1/8 of HP (I was a max health Blaziken) and that Goodra healed itself almost to max HP with one dragon pulse, I eventually lost
Goodra is a monster against physical attackers, it could evolve before but it doesn't even need it
Having fire punch and blaze kick how did you even let goodra heal this much, that's a skill issue
Sounds like you played the match up horribly skill issue my bro
If you’re standing in the full Dragon Pulse as a Blaziken that kinda sounds like a you problem lol.
@@daniellocklear5908 yeah sure, I'll just move while I'm stunned and slowed down because of dragon pulse
Plus, the healing takes like one second, if I had no skills available I was unable to run away, we eventually did kill Goodra a couple times but I'm just saying, Goodra can already do so much
@@Hbox69 nah, but Goodra can stun you for a good second and then slow you down, I just didn't have skills ready
But she goopy and cute so therefore she’s the best in my heart
No, dont, for the love of god, Cris. This thing does NOT need a buff. Maybe damage wise, but DP healing is so annoying to deal with sometimes. It may not be the best for solo queue but it is soooo good with a proper team setup. Trust me, if this thing gets buffed, we might get an even more stupid overtuned defender mon like Ho-Oh, and NOONE wants that.
@@k.k356 literally any stun or anti heal nullifies dragon pulse
@@Oliver-uz1fs or just move out of it way lmao that move have no range only heal in the middle
@@Oliver-uz1fs or walking/use a dash slightly to the side
it know as noobstomper lmao
DP literally is a Solo Q Move mate. However it is worse than muddy and Goodras only usecase rn is duo qing with a Support and praying the enemy team does not know what they are doing and are uncoordinated.
Psyduck is coming soon!
personally i think goodra needs not the biggest buffs i think its good not the best but its still a good pokemon in the right context
personally i think dragon pulse should get invulnerability muddy water should do extra damage(i do think muddy water could decrease accuracy like the games) power whip would be cool if it gave shield when the enemies are pulled back and acid spray could do damage over time and overall goodra could get a buff to bulk maybe extra bulk when dragon pulse and muddy water is used
The dragon terror was NEVER mid
He was B to A since he started
You just need skill. Sudo All arounder. beat down defender.
Also YOUR FIGHTING CHAR AND JIGGLY
its going to be rough
Goodra is a beat down defender. requires teammates with high damage to back it up. BUT people LOVE to run in and try to kill goodra SO they get beat downed and he looks OP
but in reality, hes just good at beat downs. catch him alone with no teammates and hes dead just a good solid mon in a meta FULL OF OP DESTROYERS
Nah goodra is bad
Woah Finally, been struggling to buy or not lol
I think you are crazy for thinking this thing needs buffs, now I’m in masters 1600 nothing to crazy, I don’t main goodra but this tank doesn’t not need any buffs what so ever. Whenever I play with the mon I have ease and whenever I go against the min it’s a moderate difficult challenge taking it down.
I am turning to dark side sorry.... buff zacian🔥🗣️
I think acid spray is fine
Bro idk how wrong this video is, the other day I played a casual game with a friend since he's to low of rank to play ranked with me and we came across a goodra and I'm not joking. At 1 point we had 4 of our team on bottom vs this 1 goodra for a good 30 sec just blasting goodra and we could not take it out. It was so tank and it literally killed 2 ppl and made the other 2 retreat. And I'm master ranked
TiMi, pay attention to these ideas. It will make you lots of money!
Nah you guys have some serious SKILL ISSUE. Goodra mid? Make a joke. It is still a good defender, walling many meta picks. You need to play thinking not just headslammer gaming. This is not a mon for just A button pushers.
She’s just so cute
