I might have told you - I grew up with a Standard Poodle that was trained as a guard dog for myself. Thanks for this. Just had my mascectomy and home now. I so want to have a prosthetic ASAP. But no reconstruct. I thought the prosthetic would be easy -like stuffing- but I'm
Sara, so sorry you had a bad experience! I guess I was lucky. I went to "Essentials for the Special Woman" in Vernon, CT and I would recommend them to anyone.
Hi Amy and hubby. They look great Amy and the good thing is you dont have to wear it around the clock. Wow this video went fast. Very informative and good. Thank u Love the singing it's a hit. Those doggies would have made cute puppies :)
Thanks for the videos Amy, just had my mastectomy 1 week ago. For now I have decided against reconstruction and still not sure on the prosthetics yet but your videos are helping get through this process. Starting chemo soon and scared to death!
Hi Tammy, thanks for the note, and I'm sorry you have to go through this too. I'm glad my videos have been helpful to you. Chemo's no fun at all, but doable. Sending hugs. Let me know how it goes for you ❤️❤️❤️
Really helpful to see this, thank you :) Still undecided as to whether I should get/wear one - haven't bothered for the past year and am fairly happy the way things are (aside from lumpy scar, but I guess that will improve). Feels like there is an assumption that we will be desperate to have reconstruction or prosthesis to make us into a 'whole women' again but I don't really feel that way - I haven't ever used the 'cushion' prosthesis they gave me at the hospital as I thought it was stupid :)
It's a pretty store with personal help, i like that in this case. My mom swallowed her emotions for 90% since diagnosis. She only "broke" when she was alone with me. I was with her the first time for her "fitting", she has the silicone ones, that are around same weight as her breast is (the one that's left). But the next year she got a lighter version, cuz with natural boobs, she never had backpains, but with her prostetic she got that... So no symetric boob weight, and it feels mucht better. »
Ps: she buys her regular bra's and let a store make "flaps with velcro" (like an envelope) in 'em for $10 max per bra... So no need for special bra's :) That feels much better! *hugs* Karin
Hi Amy, I gotta ask about where you went & Jackie. I almost left in tears she was the most demeaning, condescending, & rude person I have ever experienced. I almost left in tears. I thought shop looked nice & since they specialized it would be better than medical supply type place. Just curious was she rude to you? I have since read review from 2/12 & she was exactly the same way with another. In asking around I found out I am not alone. Sara
Very informative. Your husband is very supportive and your poodles are adorable!
Amy...your husband is great to agree to do the 'hug' test! Hope you found what looked and felt best for you.
Karen
Thanks Lori!
