    QC user here for a couple of months now coming from Helix/Fractal/Headrush.. the effects are really vanilla, even compared to the Headrush, there's nothing creative, just std. delays and verbs and mods, no particle, no pitch delay, no slicer, no glitch effects at all.. also no block presets is crazy, you dial in a great phaser or whatever and the only way to get that into another preset is to copy and paste it.. being able to save block presets for instant recall would save a ton of time.. "global" blocks, i.e save a block and every instance of that block in all rigs updates would be awesome.. 16 scenes ala the Headrush would be a great update, push once, scene 1, push again scene 1a.. for people using a vocal path who might want to change vocal effects but leave the guitar alone would find this useful (That's me..) .. all these tiny things would make the QC a killer for me, as it is I'm enjoying using it, the OS is good, and it sounds as good (aka the same) as all the other top tier modellers.. OS and effects choice are all that differentiates them at this point to me.

    It's a pricey boi but has a load of stuff under the hood. Great retrospective 👍

    My biggest gripe is the lack of EQ options. Where's the three band, tilt, presence and resonance, Mesa graphic? These would help immensely with captures.
    The drive block options leave a lot to be desired, too. It's a good unit but it just needs more block options.
    If I could keep my QC but just graft all the Helix EQ, drive, delay and reverb effects in there then I would be ecstatic.

      The Helix EQ is pretty in-depth to be fair, I agree that some features need to be expanded up on for sure.

      There’s a new EQ coming with the next update

      @@StupidGuitar Isn't that just replicating the plugin UI of the standard 9 band and para eqs?

      @StupidGuitar 3 місяці тому +1

      @@neighbourhoodmusician they’re porting the 9 band over. If you can’t get the tone you want with tweaking your pedals and a 9 band something is wrong.

      @@StupidGuitar There's already graphic and para EQs in there. It's about useability in the moment. I certainly can achieve anything I need with a para or 9-band graphic but sometimes it's way easier or way quicker to use a tilt or a 3 band. The mesa 5-band is also a wonderful feature to emulate, the frequencies are just so well placed.
      Format and UI is nine tenths of what I need from gear. It's one of the strengths of the QC. It just needs to increase the useability options within it. Granted it's a newish unit still but it's getting a bit left behind in terms of block options by the competition.

    I understand that hang is annoying but I have to take issue with your comment about that being annoying on stage. No one is making new presets and adding new pedals onstage. It’s also still less annoying than rewiring a pedal board. Also worth nothing I’ve literally never experience that on my device. Have you mailed support?

      That’s a fair comment to make - however at smaller gigs I’ve seen people dip down to their boards to adjust things really quickly in between sounds. Whether it’s just a volume adjustment or whatever, it may not be a big issue in reality however it’s still an issue I’ve faced on my unit in particular which I thought was worth highlighting. You’re absolutely right though, it’s far better than having to diagnose an issue with a traditional pedal setup on the fly.
      Currently got an open ticket with Neural DSP.

    The more I look into stuff like this, the more I appreciate the plug-and-playability of a real amp.

      Amps are not any less complex. Turn quad cortex on, plug in guitar, play. Default preset is more setup to sound good than an amps knobs are out of the box. It’s always funny seeing people fundamentally unable to understand that tweaking sound is as obnoxious on physical devices
