There's a community in Nova Scotia called Terrence Bay...Lukey was a 4ft tall fisherman who had a pale green boat. I used to visit him and his sister, Daughter, when I stayed with my grandfather. Thanks for the memories...
Makes me miss home seeing this video! I grew up in Goulds but spend a lot of my time in Petty Harbour. Seeing all the footage from there brought tears to my eyes.
So many people had to give up so much for the sake of “modern society”, & like the song says, it wasn’t always voluntary; sometimes I wonder if everything we have, all the goods, all the evils are worth the profound sadness & loss that people like the ones in the song had to go through, maybe there was another way
What a beautiful song! I can see why Alan is a national treasure.. Thank you for all your music and for always providing my spirit a lift and a smile. I hope to save enough money to visit Newfoundland someday.

Man,I miss home. But because of this plandemic, I'm stuck up here on the mainland. The video was beautiful. I miss the ocean most of all, the smell, The waves. Sure back home people are used to the storms we used to(and still do)Get. But I gotta laugh at these mainlanders, They think our storms are something to be feared. Sure when I was a youngster, I used to climb the cliffs in my hometown of torbay, And like you said, just enjoy watching the ocean rore.

One of the best entertainers the world has today. He is an ambassador of Newfoundland Labrador and he is THE real deal
I'm listening to this laying next to my dying father. I'm playing it for him. Somewhere inside I know he hears it and his heart is smiling. ❤
"Lukey's old boat is just a pale-shaded green". That line; Wow.
Hit me right in the gut as well.
It’s shade of green, but yeah that line was indeed a wow

Just saw you in K.C. thursday night. Thanks for the great show. Definitely worth the 2 year wait. My fiancée has been smiling since we left.
This was a huge hit when I played kitchen parties in the 80s
My best friend and I are going to Newfoundland next year and this makes me so excited for the trip! Thanks for this. Just lovely.
My dad grew up in Corner Brook and Calvert, this song and video felt like I was listening to his stories. Very beautiful!
Someone put onions in this video🥺 Beautiful Mr. Doyle. 💙💙💙
Your comment got me laughing out loud
Thanks for your support anyways
I love this! It brought me back to times with my Grandpa. Good times, good memories. ❤️
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at George St Festival 2023
This hit me hard. It reminds me of the first time I heard Fisherman's Lament; I bawled my eyes out.
Haha hope you are doing good?

Good take on a lovely Ron song. Well done! ... and it brings back good memories. Andy does a good job as Grandpa.
27 August, 2021. Old Sydney town's in lockdown. Thanks from NSW Australia. And this big island has had a seismic shift of the covid kind.

Absolutely fantastic.
Alan Doyle you've had a tremendous career, but this is by far your best song and video, by far. RIP Ron Hynes
Nicely done guys!
This song tugs at the heartstrings like the Stan Rogers' song: make-and-break-harbour, well-done, thank you.
Please consider a concert in Winnipeg.
Great job Cody and team!
