Wait… you went through all that and don’t even show it being used. I’m sure people like me who found this tool and don’t know what it is would love to see what it is used for.
The design is a copy of the Bostitch P7 hog ringers. (American made then, don't know about these days) I've had my pair for 45 years. I used to use them all the time when altering insulation pads on ship's machinery and flanges. Now I use them in chicken wire
The most I have used them was doing the seat covers on the Corvette last year. Started doing a video on it but it was my first time doing seat covers and they were really expensive so I gave up on trying to record it so I could pay attention more to what I was doing. For seat covers the hog rings hold these wires that go through the covers to the frame of the seat.
Even new seats use clips in the cushion area of the seat and if those get damaged when removing the old upholstery (often) you will need to secure the last with a hog-ring.
@captainbashir5174 ok. Thanks. When we get them in the plant, they are already done. We dont have the cushion room anymore. They just told us about the sear cover can be taken off by unzipping them. Good to know that they still use hog rings.

It would have been a good review had you actually used it. You just sold us on the idea, making a quick buck on the link sales, and probably commissions from Dewalt and UA-cam ads. There was zero demo. Show us how it is used on a wire welded fence, how easy to get into corners, how many malfunctions you get with poor closing, etc. I read on Amazon that these are a 'hobby duty' not 'heavy duty' set of pliers, that the rings don't close well and more like a spiral, that it stops working, etc. For Dewalt to ship manufacture to Taiwan, then have the audacity to charge more than double any Taiwanese or American product is a ludicrous exploitation of US consumers. I have many Dewalt products but getting disgusted by the low quality nowadays and looking elsewhere. This is not a good demo, and not a good product.
I almost bought the cheap set of pliers today, but now that I have seen your video I am getting these instead. Thanks, you saved me time and money.

Looks like a good tool, but I have no idea what a hog ring is for haha! I was hoping to see it in action.
