Acutane was probably the BEST thing I ever took for my skin, I took it one time and after I got off the first time I got some acne back, so I took it a second time and my skin has been SO CLEAR ever since!!!

Your skin looks awesome!! I was on accutane twice and my skin looked awesome for the first couple of months and then I went to college. Needless to say my acne came back. I hope you are one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to take it again!

Seeing your skin clear up and how happy you are has been motivation for me to stay on accutane! I'm about to start month 4 out of 6! Accutane so far has been the most amazing cure for acne in my opinion, and I recommend anyone not comfortable with their skin to seek help and possibly get on accutane! I first took Accutane a couple years back for five months and I was in the small percentage that it didn't work for the first time around... BUT now I'm a senior in high school and finished up my second round earlier this year! 11 months of it was really rough on my skin lol, but I'm so happy that you're finishing up and have made this video for others!! My skin is so clear now. Make sure you take really good care of your skin the first two months after you finish, because your skin will be adjusting back 😉 love your videos girl
Also, aquaphor was what all my friends who were on Accutane and I used for our lips. It comes in little tubes to make it easier to carry around, and helped soooo much! It's like Vaseline but medicated.

I was told to go on accutane but their were to many risks to go with it so instead I tried proactive and it really changed my life it go rid of my cystic acne so for anyone that may want to try something else out before doing accutane I completely recommend!! It will make you break out a lot at first but it is worth it. I use to have to wear full coverage foundation and now I wear BB cream!! So much confidence has come back!!
Girl I went on accutane a year ago, had a very similar experience as you! Don't worry about the redness, when you get off accutane it will go away, but it'll take a while! I finished accutane last August, and maybe last month or so I noticed ALL my red marks are gone! I got kinda nervous as the months went on thinking the redness wouldn't go down but it will! So happy to hear you're happy with your results! Honestly accutane changed my life lol.

my acne's bad enough that I could be put on Accutane, but it's not recommended for people who already have depression because it can make it worse. so unfortunately I'm having to suffer through the acne for now. acne sucks girl, I feel ya! thankfully I know my worth comes from the Lord and not how clear my face is!!!
just try natural ways try to put honey and lemon drink a lot of water don't wear make up because it's only making it worse i know it's hard i suffered from acne and i completly lost my confident but i start an all natural journey i gave my skin a break from makeup as well and it really helped it's gonna be hard but so worth it hydrate your skin and drink a lot of water it's gonna work just have some faith you are not alone girl

30+ years of study have proven NO link between accutane and depression. Talk to your dermatologist about using it!
I would say it may cause depression because your face will get worse before it gets better and at that point is when people began to feel depressed and want to give up. It's really just a mental thing, you need to be mentally prepared and always look towards the end goal... an acne free face!!

I'm almost done with accutane as well--yay!! I think the worst parts of accutane have been the sore muscles--I'm a dancer and I've personally experienced a lot of loss in flexibility especially in my back and hamstrings. Other than that using Aquaphor is basically your best friend. Thanks for the video Danielle!!

Im on the first month. It’s taken a toll on me. Because I have more breakouts now. Then when I started. It hurst. And is all very red. Did you put anything on them on the begging? Anything topical I mean? Thanks for giving us hope. And for sharing the journey really helps.

I went on accutane several years ago. It got rid of my cystic acne for the most part, but now I'm 22 and considering going back on as my acne is getting just as bad as it was. I really don't want to go back on it and idk what to do!!

Thanks for this video it was really helpful because I have recently got acne but today it got worsen because it was always my forehead where I had acne and now it's on my checks and chin but it's not obvious like my forbear
this is legit me!!!! my skin is so dry from the accutane… but my skin is clear!
So i have a lot of acne and blackheads and my doctor prescribed be some cream that was expensive but my insurance covered it anyways it takes 12 weeks to actually see improvement 😬😬 my doctor also said if after the 12 weeks I should contact him and tell him if i see improvement or not and if I don't he will prescribe me some pills to get ride of acne and blemishes. I was wondering were you prescribed cream first or just straight to the pill? Also do you recommend the pill for serious acne?
Hi Danielle! I am curious, now that is over a year after you finished Accutane, is your face still clear? Did your face de-redden? And what about hyper pigmentation/scars? I have tried many other treatments, including other prescriptions from my dermatologist that have not been successful. I am going to ask my dermatologist tomorrow about starting Accutane. I would love your advice! Thanks :)

I'm on my sixth and last month of accutane and through this whole experience the worst side effects I have had are dry skin and dry lips. I also started to get way worse cramps when I was on my period... probably because I needed water. Overall this whole thing has been worth it.

I used accutane as well and the results are amazing. Definitly no regrets. The side effects i had was really dry skin, achy bones/ muscles but thats basically it there are more but do your research :)

Can you recommend makeup (like face makeup) for ppl on accutane bc I know it's really hard to put on makeup when ur skin is super dry and flaky! And your makeup always looks bomb! I'm thinking of doing accutane too
Jaya Sharma I use the L'Oréal pro glow it's super cheap and very moisturizing especially with a beauty blender it's AMAZING!
I use the dermacol foundation, good coverage, super oily and not very expensive

I'm currently on Accutane at the moment. This is my 4th month and my second treatment on Accutane cos my acne came back. My skin already looks smooth like butter but my dermatologist increased my dosage to 80mg so we can kill everything off. I can handle the side effects cos I've been on Accutane before. The first two months I purged so badly but I'm ok now.
September = 20mg
October =40mg
November =60mg
December=80mg( currently on this dose)
I just keep my skincare basic.
Cleansing= Cetaphil or Cerave cleanser
Moisturiser =Cerave pm moisturiser
Daytime is the same routine but I add an SPF50 sunscreen.
When on Accutane how do you bear having upper lip hair

Wow 5 months? I'm Belgian, and currently on month 5, but my dermatologist sais that I have to do it for about 4 more months.. (because of the low dosage I guess)

I have thought about beginning Accutane, but my mom was concerned because it is such a strong medication. My acne isn't terrible, but I do have a habit of picking which makes it worse. What kind of skin and acne would you say accutane is good for? I just want better skin but its such an intense medicine.
Margaret I've been on acutane before. It a lot of paperwork, blood work, doctors appointments, and pills. Acutane is like a last resort because it is very harsh on your skin and liver. Try asking your doctor about other options.
Margaret i went to my dermatologist to talk to him about my acne, what i should do and what i can use. Make it a point that you don't want to use something super harsh! i got put on a less harsh pill, and some cream, in 4 months in and have never been happier with my skin
What brand is it? if I use it on my face how will it bleach my clothes and stuff?

The Smith's Rosebud Salve is my absolute favorite. I'm so glad you had such great results! Your skin looks amazing. My husband had to take Accutane for a bit and that was his biggest issue as well, the dry lips. But was definitely worth the long term results :)
i started claravis (form of isotretinoin) and i'm on week 4. my skin isn't too dry but my lips are bleeding in the corners (the rest of my lips aren't dry thanks to aquaphor). my nose bleeds 3 times everyday and (this is gross) the blood dries up inside my nose and it's painful. can someone please comment a way to fix the nose bleeds?? thanks x
Tiara Storm you can try applying a little bit of Vaseline inside your nostrils to lightly lubricate your nose from the dryness
