I keep getting this kind of comment and it makes me wonder if people are confused. Were you aware that one of those uploads is not new? Have you heard the other videos I've uploaded? there are over 200.
@@evandoorbell4278 i have. I listen to them all the time. That's why I'm excited and I made the comment 😁. Sorry for the confusion. Tone of voice doesn't convey well via text
This unique on-the-ground phone phreak's perspective of something I've seen chronicled by the Bell System film is awesome. Group Bell ftw, thanks Evan! Also, something sounds... off about your voice in this episode.
The joke starting at 16:23 had me rolling. Great series so far. I've always been interested on how this was handled on the ground compared to the At&t film on the matter. its been very fascinating. Keep up the great work!
8:10 besides having a great voice for radio, he speaks clearly and without any noticeable accent. I could barely understand certain parts of Helen's recording!
I do kind of wonder what the GPO would have done if they had such a major exchange fire. Yes I use AI on the first three in this series, because I didn’t have a quiet place to record my voice AND I was having a lot of voice trouble. It saved a hell of a lot of time, but as you’ve noticed, getting it to inflect sensibly isn’t easy.

It's so cool to have listened to one program in this series, then just a day or two later, the next one comes out! It's like a full-blown show.
It’s so cool
You know it's gonna be a good day when Evan Doorbell uploads, especially twice in one day! Thank you again Evan

That's great to hear! I just wanted to make sure that no one was missing all the other stuff. Thanks for letting me know.

Right. I used a primitive AI version of my early 80s voice. I didn't have a studio or quiet place AND I was having voice trouble.

I’m excited, three uploads in one year. I get really excited when the group bell page is updated ☺️
What takes the longest is the voice work. I couldn't use my current voice for most of this, and that ended up saving a huge amount of time.
Been keeping up with this series, and wow. That must have been crazy.

Awesome ! Sure brings back the memories. Even if it wasn't one of my memories. .😀😀

Dial-A-Bargain never gets a break.
😂 underrated comment/10
Thanks for sharing this evan! The power of nerd is real 😅
Cognitronics Evan.
Wait, Mrs. Fletcher did announcements for the phone company?🤔🤣
I am calling and I can’t hang up!
🤣🤣🤣
20:33 did you end up using AI on these? It sounds a little off when you say "electromechanical"
Just try getting it to say, "ESS's"...
Evan? Did you AI your narration? Either that, or there's some really wierd inflections in there? :)

19:05 You're really making a punchline out of a bit of flutter when the terribleness at 24:30 exists?
I thought 23:40 was an old KMFDM track😅

Service was restored in three weeks.

Beauty fades, but ugly is forever.
What they did was amazing. Check the aptly named film, "miracle on 2nd Ave."
