We use a mix between pellets and shavings, and we don't swell the pellets with water first, we just put them in. Because we have experienced that it last longer.

Great Advice!! Only my mini goes in a stall at night so she doesn't eat the large horses feed all night, but I will definitely be thinking about these tips when I order our next round of bedding! Thank you!

Pellets are so useful! Helpful to see what you do, and how it changes is various seasons - I've been using only pellets, but this week testing with some shavings on top and less pellets, just on the bottom. We'll see how it goes! :)
