How to Replace a Spur Gear | LaTrax

Follow this procedure when changing or replacing a spur gear in your LaTrax Rally or Teton. A damaged spur gear can affect performance, and can usually be detected by a clicking sound. You may also use this process when changing to a different gearing setup.

I had to adjust motor mount and remove the crescent shape piece in order to get pinion to engage new spur gear

I followed the video but my spur gear isn’t making contact with the motors gear. It just barely touches the spur gear, which damaged the new one I installed. Any ideas?

replaced the motor, in place, indexed properly and it's now insanely loud, in higher end trucks you can adjust the gear mesh but now on these lil buggers, it's preset. any ideas? same gears, same motor place, only swapped out the motor.

i sent mine off for repair with a broken ESC & it came back with more problems even though they had replaced the ESC/MOTOR with drive now working, the servo was dead, a front bearing was seized all of which i repaired myself & now i the motor pinion/spur is making a very loud noise iv tried to loosen off the pinion gear thinking they set it too tight but with no joy please help :(

If you upgraded the motor it’s definitely too powerful for a plastic spur gear you need the hot racing spur gear ⚙️
