This never fails to send shivers down my spine. As a guitarist, these two men (and John McLaughlin) are the reasons why I try to be the best musician I can be. Pure mastery of craft. Thank you for your music and your life, Paco. RIP.
Gracias.. Maestros por unirnos como una sola canción..
PACO , I CRY EVERY TIME I HEAR YOU PLAY AND KNOW WHEREVER YOU GONE THE MUSIC GOT A LOT BETTER WITH YOU THERE, BLESS YOU ABD THANK YOU FOR YOUR FLEMENCO MUSIC
do you like rythms ?? :) ....I DO .....................this is fun to listen because they are really good guitarists , and they LOVE playing ! (I really like Al Paco Delucia,s playing since I "found" him , about 2 years ago )
What a huge loss Paco still is a handful of years after his passing. I like AL alot..but imho ..there was nothing better than seeing Paco and John McLaughlin together..or in the trio. Al is outstanding without a doubt but I'd have to say John and Paco were always a few steps above him and pretty much every other gtr player.
I discourage every guitarist from purchasing "Friday Night in San Francisco." If you do, you will eventually smash your guitar and take up needlepoint.
Actually my father did :( He was a good guitar player in my opinion, but too perfectionist. After hearing them he stopped, because he wasn't able to reach that level. :(((
i don't know but i find di meola's improvising too predictable, kind of scale wise excercises with great modal control, but still too accademic, don't get me wrong i respect him a lot, i just prefer paco or john, they are more original in my humble opinion
I think Al's improvising is, if anything , even more musical than Paco's. He was the first persob to persuade me that jazz might be a worthwhile artistic exercise rather than just good musicians wasting their time.

God, Paco's right wrist must have been killing him most of the time.
it is kind of rare to see paco playing rythm guitar
Flamenco guitarist ===> Doesn't play rhythm?
