Hey Paul, you're the best trombone instructor one can find on this beautiful planet Earth - just take it from me. Just imagine me in a Russian little town on the Volga, and where would I get any such competent and ardent teacher like you. In fact, I have tried to take lessons from someone in Kazan (the city some 50 clicks away on the other bank of the river), but it was a disappointment. And here you are, imparting your hard-earned experiences just like that. You really make one feel privileged, Paul. Saying that I appreciate your generosity is an understatement. Live to see a hundred - and be healthy all the time!

Too many musicians aren t in love with their own instrument, and I think that's one of the key..it seems so simple and so evident but THANK YOU for saying it again! One truth. I love trombone forever 📎❤

Listened to Duke Ellington's Jump for Joy yesterday. It premiered in Los Angeles 1941. Groovy AF. So hey hey, LA! Thanks for the tip Paul, meditating on it

I use to practice with the mindset of I'm not done until I play this passage to my satisfaction consistently. I was a high schooler and it got to the point where my family would ask me if I could please play anything else, lol (especially, if I was playing the same four measures over and over). You are absolutely right about the focus improving everything. I would practice some hard piece for hours and when I would play a scale or something else easy, it would sound better too.

Love your videos and appreciate your knowledge, guidance, and advice! I discovered your videos after I recently started playing the trombone again. I’ve spent years away from it and playing music again feels like hanging out with an old friend. Thanks for all you do!

Yes,old friend is just how I feel about my horn. I too have returned to my ole pal after a long time…started at 15 and now turning 63 and have been playing consistently since late 2020 after intermittent absences…
Paul has been a real encouragement and has given me all the more reasons to practice…love for the instrument I can’t forsake….all the best to you and your friend
