In the final outro credits we can see Mugen walking while carrying someone, and we can see their ninja shoes on their feet around his neck. I think it's likely Mugen went back to meet the ninja woman (I'm blanking on her name) who he helped bust the arms-dealing Christians. Jin probably went back to help defend the safe haven where the woman he loved and helped escape a life of prostitution was hiding out. I imagine he could do a lot of good protecting them, and it 100% fits his motivations / character.
This ending always makes me a cry, not because of how it ends but because the Journey is over and this always hurts to relive. Goodbye, until next time thank you samurai champloo. and R.I.P Nujabes
This is one of my all time favorite animes. I love the three’s relationship dynamic. I always liked to believe that Jin went back to find Shino and waited for her to be free to marry again. Mugen would continue traveling but I ship Fuu and Mugen, so I like to think that they made their way back to each other.
Samurai Champloo is very much like Cowboy Bebop. It's about the journey not the destination. Sure their is a story about the rebellion here or a story about the gang Spike was in Bebop. Yes their is a overall through line but it's not focused on it. It's a end goal hinted at.
The Bebop/Champloo/Dandy trilogy is fantastic. Carole & Tuesday is a different vibe but has the same team and takes place in the same universe as Bebop (plus has great music from Thundercat, Denzel Curry and Yoko Kanno)
Ngl these champloo reactions had an extra special chill vibe to them (not unlike the show itself), always looked forward to them! Really glad y’all enjoyed it!… Space dandy when?! lol
I like to think they all ended up together again. I mean, every other time they separated, fate brought them together. But it's probably just my wishful thinking.
Yall gotta check out space dandy. Very similar to this and cowboy bebop, its got the same episode structure with an underlying main plot. And its possibly in the same universe as cowboy bebop!
All of the top assassins sent after them are no more so as long as they don't bring attention to themselves or use their real names the shogunate would assume they were dead. Back then it probably wouldn't be too hard to change their identities.
I know Blue Eye Samurai was picked up after this but I really hope the anime Eighty Six is picked up after that series first season is over, very underrated and would be cool to get a sci-fi mecha anime back in the lineup 😄
I always find it funny how many anime are nostalgic for the Sengoku Jidai, despite the fact the Shogunate and Meiji Restoration were objectively more stable times.
I think it's the same way that Westerns were huge for a long time in the US. And many shows that aren't set in that time period anymore still use the cliches and formula that those shows/movies followed. It's something so specifically 'American' and intrinsically linked to our past. Even though it wasn't really the 'best' time, it's so engrained into the country's cultural past.
To Spidey's point, that's kind of the crux of the show. The ending is anticlimactic, sure, but it's meant to be. Because it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. The common phrase I hear about this show is this, "Don't be sad that the journey is over. Be happy that the journey happened in the first place."
As many are pointing out, watching Space Dandy will have you guys completing the big 3 from director Shinichiro Watanabe. Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Space Dandy. I’ve always thought it similar to watching all 3 of the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End). All directed by Edgar Wright.
my comment doesn't seem to be loading, I wonder if a keyword is triggering an auto delete or something, but I loved this series...and thank you for wandering through it so that I could see through new eyes again. Be well And now you know the final mysteries. Fuu's father fled only because his presence endangered his family. The government would use them to find him...so they were safe only as long as he was somewhere unknown and still considered at least an existential threat. It was the only thing he could do to preserve their lives. Jin never intended to fight his master...and in truth, his master was perhaps slowed by regret and self disgust. In defeating the corrupting force that turned his mentor into a puppet, Jin avenged himself and his master in one stroke. His life is his own for the first time since he left the dojo, and he can walk away at peace. Mugen has been near death many times...but this was the closest...and the most selfless...of all those times. He is, perhaps, a changed man. Something inside him died...and something else has been born. They are friends forever...it doesn't matter where they go, or even if they never meet again...the internal bond of loyalty and shared contentment...does not care about a little distance. It exists nonetheless. The End. The overarching meta narrative is the ebb and flow of cultural influence, the resistance to it, and the inevitability of it. The show joyfully inserts modern pop culture, art and music alongside tradition, history and the stagnation brought by repression. It remains a feast of fun, action, tragedy and friendship. It was a pleasure to watch this again through your eyes. There are few shows, anime or otherwise, that brought me such enjoyment. I am content just knowing that it isn't forgotten. Thank you.
"why did we even make this trip? You remember?" The word Champloo is usually defined as "mixed up" or "mess" as in a situation beyond control or even understanding. In some ways, you can argue essentially this whole journey being entirely unnecessary, right down to the point being nothing but a lie, one giant waste of time. Just one giant mess. And yet, it happened. There's no real end to their stories after, nor was there any confirmation regarding what happened next. They all went their separate ways after a chaotic, bittersweet, stupid, yet eventful journey together, leaving with a smile and walking in peace. This to me is what makes creative minds like Shinichiro Watanabe such good storytellers. The idea of all this feeling unnecessary and unimportant in the end, yet something you just can't help but look back on and enjoy, is a feeling like no other. There's No lesson to take from it, no moral, not even a message, really. It just is what it is.
Still shocked there are people who watch this entire series and find nothing interesting or exciting lol. Lots of Reddit post about it being overrated or mal reviews saying it’s mid. I guess I’m too much of an action mark lol. Maybe they wanted more down time slice of life idk. 🤷
S2 really is PEAKLAND Saga, but somehow I doubt they'll pick it back up, since Nahid seemed to be the most enthusiastic about it, and he's gone from the crew.
I know everyone wants Dandy because it’s the natural next step but Monster is held in high regard alongside Berserk and FMA as one of the all-time manga greats for a reason. They would love it.
I think this is how Naruto should have ended; Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura say a goodbye then go their own way. (Ten years later) Them all meeting up again: OH shit! We left everyone in the tsukuyomi! Yeah we really effed that up! Y'all should watch more Kil la Kill. Also did that one inspector girl ever track down Mugen again?
Blue Eye Samurai has five episodes available on our Patreon Premium Access tier right now!! www.patreon.com/thenormies

I don't remember that part about mugen and the ninja girl. What credits are you taking about?
@@alexmartin6561My bad she's walking during the credits, the leg / neck thing was from her episode. Wires got crossed 😂

An amazing show!
You mean universes
And Kids On The Slope.
There’s also Carol and Tuesday that takes place a few years before the events of Bebop, in the S. Wananabe anime timeline.
Up next Space Dandy?!?!
Please boost this!!

I pray 🙏🏽 that you guys go back to trigun . Let's finish the late 90's anime

Mugen is gonna bum around until he gets found by that ninja lady who wants to marry him.

Hyped for Blue Eye Samurai... finished it a week and a half ago.

React to Blood+ from 2007. Great vampire anime. Lots of horror elements and great characters.
I though the Shogunate was still after them, why would they go their own way. I would expect more assassins to come after them.
Now Mugen finds his Ninja Wife and Gin goes back to his Wifey on the nun Island :D
