I just got my F-660VW FARMMAC three days ago , l demonstrated the saw to friend who’s in tree business for fifty years and he’s been a stihl man he just couldn’t believe the comprehension it had and the power! He was very impressed. We had 5- below zero up In NEW YORK where l live and -37 degrees in Watertown New York l used the F-660VW to cut fire wood and l ripped all the logs then cut cross grain to save from having to slit the wood it was so darn cold, but got it done and sat by the fire! These 660-s Are great l hope they’ll hold up. Good luck with yours! STEVE
I've got the Neotec NS892, so the basic clone 660 version Neotec makes. Got it for dirt cheap (only reason I bought it, honestly). Surprisingly, Once I tuned it up, takes all of 3 pulls to start when cold. Never more than 1 pull, once warm. Did some mild porting, cleaned up the piston ports and installed Caber rings, dual port muffler mod, pro flow filter, 3/4 wrap, HD Stihl clutch cover and a few other things. It rips and I have less than 500.00 into it total. It has earned a spot alongside my Dolmar 7900 (still can't believe I'm saying that about a clone saw). Now I've got to rebuild and port my 576xp and try to make it outrun this damn clone.... Lol
The transparent fuel tank is a good improvement over the Neotec I received. Also that full wrap differs from Stihl and Farmertech, on the clutch side does not block the bar nuts.
Glad you got a sweet runner the second go round👍🏻 Definitely be interesting, in a year or two to see how neo and farmertec drive each other! Gotta love market competition😎
I bought the NS892 a couple years ago. The only preventative OEM parts I changed were the Decompression Valve and the Chain Tensioner parts. Deleted the Intake Baffle, installed the Pro Flo air filter. Runs strong with the 36” bar. Love it.
I can tell you for certain this saw is the same inside as the orange version. I've been in my neotech 892 and inside one of the newer farmmac saws and the only difference is the colors. The 892 I have runs right alongside my factory 660 and if the color wasn't different I could not tell which one I was running. I have had mine two years, and I have run the hell out of it, my 660 still looks new cause the neotech gets all the run time.
Thank you very much for giving an honest review of this saw and showing what it is capable of doing and talking about the upgrades that you can do to it thank you for taking the time what's your time about being a Nova lumberjack I did as a kid when I lived in Oregon unfortunately age has caught up with me My mind hasn't but my body has you take care and good luck to you this year in the competitions
After watching you vid a couple of weeks ago i bought one. I got a Tsumera 32" bar. Started on the 6th pull. I didn't check the initial carb settings. Just adjusted it a little on the high side. It was a little boggy. But straight out of the box it was good. I got 1 1/2 tank through it so far. Well work it some more on 30" dry cotton wood in the morning, only thing is its not oiling enough . Thanks for the review, i reall enjoy the content!
I’m glad you did this video and I have been looking at both these saws. I now know what my purchase is going to be now, especially sense the price is only like $20 more dollars for a saw that has 20 more cc’s and 2 more hp.
I do think putting in a Name brand or real Walboro carb is a must. A lot of YTers say they have a lot of problems with aftermarket carbs. If u can get one of these to function reliably it’s a steal. No pun intended.
No need to replace AFTERMARKET parts, till you run them. Many AFTERMARKET parts are good quality. Many you tubers don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Many you tubers absolutely lie about not being sponsored. Its their job to never put the product down. Thankfully, there are some that have no problem calling out a dud.
I have a Farmertec 660 that is stock & I have owned it for 5 years now. I have had no trouble with it. I use it for cutting fire wood. I just bought a Farm Mac 660 with the 99cc engine I am just breaking it in now. I have a 25, 28,32,36, & a 42" bar for these & also Farmertec 288 & 395 saws also! They all are the real deal now. They never fail to start & run!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Bought both the NT and FT 660 clones a couple years ago. The NS 892 has a little more power. Got the G660 Pro (because of the hydodip). Have removed the baffles in the mufflers, put a single exhaust outlet 7/8”. And Proflo air filters on both. Both run like sewing machines. FT had to replace throttle trigger and multi function lever. NT had one clutch spring break. Very happy with both.
I have a modded Stihl MS661. It has a barkbox muffler plate, a MaxFlow air filter and cover, decompression plug, 3 point felling spikes, and a 41 inch Cannon bar. I've actually been wanting to get one of these 660 clones to use as a secondary milling saw. They're cheap, all parts are interchangeable with oem, and I like the fact that they come with some stuff to help rebuild them. I'd probably end up having parts on it that are more expensive than the saw itself!
Instead of cutting the roller short to get to the wrench flats, I just put the other end of its axle into my drill's chuck, tightened it down, held the nut in place with a flat wrench and used the drill to screw the axle in tight.
Can you do a video on the Neotec ms380. It looks like a great saw and I’m hoping it will be a better option than that farmmac 372 that was a giant fail. I’m looking at that 660 as well, but I’m thinking a 70cc saw is more what I need.
Just finished adding a sthil 36 inch bar to mine been doing break in on it unfortunately I believe I got a Friday build because every time I start this thing something comes loose bolts everywhere and also both caps leak regardless of how tight or loose you screw them in and oiling well it dumps everywhere it does run but looks cool so it will sit on a shelf and keep the real sthil on jobs if I’m working on this pile I’m not making money it’s definitely underpowered for it’s claimed cc this is a weekend warrior saw only be honest 😏
The FARMMAC's F660 performance is more what I expected. I believe there is something wrong with Bodie's FARMMAC 372, especially on what appeared to be low resistant when he pulled on the cord to start it. Unless I'm told otherwise, I think his 372 is a lemon. Nothing like taking it easy for the initial break-in, LOL.

@@novicelumberjack lol gota take the bad with the good I guess!! Seemed good in the video though! I like any saw but I wouldn’t buy one of these clones with any intention other than just to play with it or learn for the oem version!

What I don't understand is how they are selling them in the states without the EPA attacking them. See when they clone the best saws on earth ya end up with a pretty good clone saw that’s why the husky clone was so bad they just can’t compare to a stihl!!
This saw is currently sitting on my garage floor. It has had many failures, and now it is blown. Just sayin.
@@novicelumberjack lol gota take the bad with the good I guess!! Seemed good in the video though! I like any saw but I wouldn’t buy one of these clones with any intention other than just to play with it or learn for the oem version!
@@terrycalvert7812 I think they can be fine once you whittle down the parts that will break. Also, I have learned to never buy a Neotec. My Holzfforma saws are much better.
@@novicelumberjack Maybe you should update the video?
What do you love ?
That someone stole the work?
Stihl invested in research, advertising, promotion, etc.
Lame
@@novicelumberjack It doesn't sound good, but the fact remains.
You should ask someone to learn a little logic. It also raises IQ...
History teaches us how it is with theft.
@@PopaAlexandru. Stihl has stolen ideas from other saw manufacturer's also. Get over it.
@@nathanbigsby8731 I don't know why theft is condemned. Look, the Latins stole everything from the conquered peoples, the English stole from the conquered peoples, the Europeans stole from the Amerindians, the Chinese stole from everyone.
People are very creative when they have a fortune behind them.
What I don't understand is how they are selling them in the states without the EPA attacking them. The current offerings from the big 3 chainsaw makers had to revamp their products and phase out these old models because of emissions. But then the clones show up, with packaging that suggests running 25:1 fuel and get a free pass. I don't get it.
your review is nothing but jibber jabber.
Thanks man! You're a sweetheart!
My sthil 362 will eat this saws lunch I have them both and the 362 is 30cc smaller 50% lighter and by the time you buy this POS and put a good bar and chain on it you could have bought a real saw for a few bucks more don’t waste your money on these when new i tried this saw knowing it was a pile and had a few bucks to waste and that’s exactly what it was a waste 😂 trust me or learn the hard way been doing this my whole life
I’m honestly not sure anymore that they all(walboro, sthil) have production plants in China and assemble elsewhere and say it’s made where it’s assembled. Love this stuff brother 🦾❤️🔥 I like the Farmertec ones but that’s all I have held. Great overview the g660 are fun.!! How was the start, tune and restart out of the box ?? The “walboro” that came on it needed diaphragm alterations. It worked great afterwards. I have a few videos about it.
looks amazing! will we ever get to point these saws actually outperforms the genuine ones !
Just ordered one. hehehe
