Nico just seems like he’s gonna be a monster. Elite size and talent, has swag. First game out against a solid Iowa defense he torched them for five touchdowns. I understand it’s one game, but imagine how much he’s progressing with all the #1 reps he is getting. I think he gets to 35 total touchdowns and has a breakout year.
OU top 5 from an OU fan: 1. Danny Stutsman 2. Deion Burks 3. Billy Bowman Jr. 4. Nick Anderson 5. Toss-up between Jackson Arnold, Gavin Sawchuk, Da’Jon Terry, Damonic Williams, Ethan Downs, & Gentry Williams. I think I would have to give the nod to Ethan Downs via on-field production & by leadership displayed in fall camp. But, with that said, DJ Terry is highly undervalued by those outside of the program. His stats won’t reflect what his value was to OU during 23, but those that know what to look for understand what that man brought to OU! D. Williams should help lessen his load in 24 & I’m hoping he breaks-out this season!!!
Hey Steven I’m not sure if you know this but Deion smith didn’t only play at a junior college, he was also at LSU… 😂 the only reason he won’t have 1200 yards this season at Ole Miss is because we have so much talent at the position. I can definitely see an 800 yard season coming from him on fewer receptions than a lot of players
I think Nico does struggle against GA and OU because of the road environment but Bama is at home so I think he helps get it done in that game to go 10-2.
Mike, regarding Nico, you really miss the fact that he is not only a red shirt freshman, but he's almost a sophomore from his time in the program. Let's look at the history of top talent QBs who had only 1 year in a program to red shirt and how they performed as a red shirt freshman starter. The list of high performance, break out QB performances is long. When you compare Hooker, as a transfer, in a brand new offensive system in year one to what Nico may be like as a nearly 2 year redshirt freshman, is just really not even close to the same comparison. It's really Apples and Oranges. Also, Nico has not made alot of bad decisions. He has a veteran O Line in front of him and a lot of time in this offense. He is smart, and very cool and collected. I really think you're vastly under representing him. And he has a far better receiving core than probably Heupel has had overall. He has a solid 6 rotation. We'll obviously see. My view is he will not at all be rattled by the big game and stage.
Game reps are all anyone considers, not which science classes they have passed. You are kind of missing the point, when you chalk experience up to time on campus, instead of game experience. Nobody is doing the math like that, but you. That said, he looks like an incredible player, and that's enough. You don't have to fluff him up, his talent is enough to be a game changer.
@Tijuanabill science class? Game reps of course matter. However, just look at history. Plenty if examples of red shirt freshman QBs with zero game reps (remember they used to not be able to play any games or lose a red shirt untilvery recently) who exploded their first year. Some have won national championships. Some went to the Heisman finals. Etc. There is a point to the mental game of a qb and full understanding of a system as well as technique and strength development that a year in college, or more in his case, represents. When you add that to an elite talent, it just bodes well. Thats not fluff. Im not missing the point. I think you missed mine.
@@jclevengerjr freshmen could always play 4 games and still keep their redshirt. The only difference is the 4 games had to be the first 4 games, now it's 4 games anywhere on the schedule
Wait, you're here to tell Oklahoma fans we need elite defensive linemen to compete in the SEC, when getting elite defensive linemen was one of the primary reasons we joined the SEC? Yeah man...we know. We know far better than you, what it's like to not be able to get elite defensive linemen, and what happens when you can't for 15 years.
@@Bogeymania The only position they might be better is DBs. They won’t be good on the OLine. Tennessee will have one of the best front 7 on Defense in the SEC. I’ll take Tennessee at RB, WR and TE. I like Nico over Arnold too. I don’t think their OLine can stop Tennessees Dline.
Gotta love it when them Hillbillies sleep on that Oklahoma talent they know nothing about! Gavin Sawchuck will run wild all over that Vols defense and the Arnold to Anderson connection will pick that backfield apart! And don't forget, that vaunted Oklahoma Defense will Smother the Vols offense and potentially shut it out at the Palace On The Prairie! That having been said, Welcome Home Josh! Sooner Nation Still and will Always Love one of its Favorite Sons! We'd love to see a statue erected in your honor!
Can someone please tell the #SEC that all Oklahoma has done is beat SEC teams? (Bob Stoops' favorite pastime was stumping mood holes in the SEC a&& and walking it dry.) #OUDNA has never played the #SEC, which is not on this year's schedule. Just SEC teams, nothing more or less.
I must have missed all the national championships OU beat the SEC in the last 20 years. I just remember the SEC beating the hell out of the Sooners in BCC & Playoff games
@@ThatSECPodcast, it's Okay. I understand your confusion. Your conference is not known for high IQs or smarts. You should best start working on those excuses for when you lose. That is what the SEC is known for.

Ok 7-5 or 8-4 🤔🍆
In my humble opinion, it's gotta be Gentry Williams....Dude is a Bad Ass!

Scoreboard has gotta be #1 at Vandy
I think the preseason AP number one stat mostly means the AP does a bad job at predicting
I think the South Carolina top 5 is pretty good tbh. Praying it’s right because then this offense and defense should be solid
LSU top 5 by seasons end
Cambell
Jones
Perkins
Chris Hilton
Nuss
Kaleb Jackson
Potential defensive guys... Savion Jones, Womack and Spears.
