2nd and 26 is by far the best Alabama play. I remember watching it on tv and there has never been a game that was more nerve wracking (except maybe the 4 ot iron bowl)
Of the Saban era yes. But for me the best one ever is Derrick Thomas chasing down Lamar Thomas and stripping him of the football. Another great play is the hit Metchie game the Flor8da player
@@ashley.the.swiftie The Cody block is up there as well. For me Thomas stripping Lamar of the football is even sweeter considering the trash he was saying.
The 2017 NCG will always be my favorite! My best friend had moved away but i went down to watch the game with him. He was a huge Alabama fan. We were so excited to be able to watch the game and witness that awesome ending together. I gave him a big hug and said goodbye and went home. He died unexpectedly a little while later, he was only 31. So every time i see that game or that play i see him jumping up and down screaming with excitement " We won, we won, we won!!" Roll Tide Roll!!!!
Been an Arkansas fan my whole life and have major respect for Saban and the Tide. Brought back a tinge of pain seeing that first video play as Arkansas has played Bama well in past but lost 99% of the games. I think anyone who was honored enough to play or witness the Saban area was blessed.
Another thing no one ever talks about is how absolutely cool and calm Tua was after that sack. Take a look at him looking at the sidelines for the next play like it's business as usual. The guy was 19 years old you just don't see that all the time.
Mt.Cody was something else. Might be bigger moments but the impact of that play and standard that followed in my opinion is huge. Also sunseri was that dude.
@louieo.blevinsmusic4197 I was just talking about the play. Also can't forget about Allen and dareus tho. We low-key have put out a few top dt last decade
There Soooo many outstanding players from the Nick Saben era . Saben like the Bear was a once in a lifetime coach!!!!!! Im so grateful I have a chance to ride along. WOW!!!
I don't know how you can leave out the national championship game where AJ McCarron gets into it with the center in the middle of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME😂😂.. that forever will go down in Alabama history for sure with the many many others!
Love how Barrett Jones called that screen on LSU for the Yeldon TD. I’d argue that wasn’t the best play, as the best play wasn’t even a play but Barrett Jones pushing AJ when the game was already outta reach. As it shows how determined that team was. I agree with a good bit of these on the list. The ‘15 Kenyan Drake one easily tho co-best with the onside kick.
Never forget any of these seasons. These past 17 years as a Bama fan (became one around 2005/2006) have been the best. Here is to another good set of runs with the new coach. RTR

The question is (why would you choose any play from the 2010 Iron Bowl??) 🤷🏾♂️ I am still trying to get that shit out of my mind in 2023 - one of the worst days ever as a Bama fan - but there were at least 4 different plays no including the on side kick from the 2015 National Championship Game that could have made this list - big play after big play all night - O.J. Howard went crazy that night
@@downsouthhighlightslol - I hate to say this, but it just seems like somebody got paid off that day - go back and look at the fumble by Mark Ingram on the sideline - then the turnover by Greg in our own endzone - no team can have that much bad luck in one game - how do you loose 3 games with Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and Julio Jones on the field 🤷🏾♂️ - I am a die hard Bama fan, so i know that sounds crazy - the only team with worse luck is the 2021 Bama team (loosing their best 2 play makers in both of the biggest games of the year) - i have lost a lot of sleep and grown a lot of grey hairs messing around with this Bama Football over the past 16 years 😂😂
Too bad, that the best play in 2010, was the iron bowl, “CAMBACK” game. We know how that one turned out 😝!!! Now the 2023 Iron bowl, that’s a different story, that I don’t like to think about, lol!!! As a fan, of that “other “ team, I would, in my opinion, say that was outstanding, if not THE greatest play of Coach Saban’s career at Alabama!! Kinda like our “kick six” 😎 Much respect for Coach Saban, The Goat!!!!
I wish we could go back and convince Vinnie Sunseri to come back for one more year after his ACL injury, or if only his ACL didn’t get injured. People forget he was a Heisman candidate on defense before he went down. Bama legend for the real ones tho
A certified classic, for sure, but I don't think that's more famous than Smiths one handed grab against LSU. That entire game was Smiths Heisman moment.
Huge bama fan here can tell you the best 6 plays ever is last ones before we hoist National Title Trophy LOL I love those kneel down plays best as it is stress free hehe
There are definitely some other plays during some of those years that could have easily replaced the plays you picked.. i agree with the 2009 & 2017 plays though.. the blocked FG in 2009 & 2 & 26 against Georgia in the championship were 2 of the best
Shutting LSU out in 2011 after they beat us earlier that season was great.. I like that play too.. it was so much better because they was trying to intimidate our guys and trash talk them when we came on the field and our guys ignored them and let there actions on the field speak for them
Man, I just knew Trent Richardson's 76-yard juke run against Ole Miss was going to be there. Oh well lol 😂 Great list, and thank you for unlocking those memories!

GOAT college football play: 2017 Alabama v. Georgia. National Championship game. Alabama down 13 at the half, changes QBs, and ties the game pushing it into OT. Then, in OT on 2nd and 26, a true freshman QB who had never started a game throws the winning walk-off TD pass to a true freshman WR, and future Heisman Trophy winner, who had also never started a game.
You forgot two quarterbacks and totally skip those years and that would be mcelory and Mac Jones. That hopping down on one leg to get the first down by McElroy probably save their season... And Mac Jones's 2020 season was filled with highlights...!
