I wish I did sell the parts, I’d be making a Fortune 😂. If you want more information and have Instagram dm me on @xlandscaperxx and I’ll give you all the information you need to get going
So obviously you got the deleted ECM and tcu done before the damn EPA fucked us hard and killed are trucks from being tuned with a delete even if we race.. The power in my 2017 L5p is amazing stock but killing are MPG and motor life really pisses me off. Thank god I still have my 2007 tuned with EFI live at 600 hp
Just watched your videos this morning! I just bought a 19 dually and I'm definatley excited about starting my fixes lol If you had to do the process over again would you have changed any step?
Thank you for watching and subbing... I am totally happy with everything. All the parts fit great and the truck runs beautiful, performs amazing and sounds sooo sexy. Definitely happy
What’s your mpg ? I use to get around 20-25 with other tunes. Now I’m getting 16.3. What am I doing wrong? Just started using EDT hotshots fuel treatment, is the only thing different.
I’m usually around 17-19 around town 21-22 hwy not towing. And I use the same fuel treatment it’s good stuff… Check ur mass airflow sensor, it’s probably all caked up if ur fuel mileage suddenly decreased
Ok I’ll check in to that. I cleaned it a while back, it was down for about a month and says water in fuel on dash light. Not sure what that’s about. Thanks for the input.
@@rbyronson2426 the water in fuel is exactly that. There’s a sensor in your fuel filter. You can drain the can but I’d definitely change it. Easy to do, I have a quick video on how to do it. Let me know how you make out
I changed the fuel filter, had some brown stuff in the bottom of the fuel filter cap. Not sure what that was, cleaned it and reset fuel filter and water in fuel still comes on. Maybe time to save some extra money for the fass or air dog.
Great video my man real informative, my question is when swapping the ecm and tcm do I need to disconnect the batteries? I’ve got my hp tuners stuff in the mail today and I think I’m gonna attempt this install on Friday, I’m kinda nervous, I’m doing the emissions equip on by calibrated power, at least until the warranty is over, let me know, and keep up the awesome videos and any recent updated would be awesome stay safe.
great video! maybe a dumb question, but to you have to do the process individually for the TCM and ECM on the laptop as far as swapping and inputting vin, or do you just select both and install new at sametime?
While it’s not needed it’s definitely recommended. Some of the benefits Having Trans tuning are higher line pressures which help reduce clutch slippage and optimized shift points, again to prolong the life of the transmission. It’s definitely worth getting it done IMO
@@NickySull I'm now just replacing my original injectors @ 330k as well as my CP3 with an Exergy sportsman, new HIGH TECH 64 PROMAX TURBO , DMAX UPIPES , AND HSP Y BRIDGE BUNDLE KIT , AND A RETUNE FROM MOTOR OPS LOOKING TO MAKE 625RWHP , WISH ME LUCK BRO 👍
@@xlandscaper wait got one more question😂 if you get the ecm and tcm preloaded, would you have to send the tunes out to your tuner and have to wait or can you just get done with the process the same day? Sorry for all of the questions
It’s not 100% needed but definitely recommend. Tuning has Increased line pressures and optimized shift points which helps the longevity of the transmission
@@xlandscaper Gotcha I went ahead and got it. I just flashed my tune can I start the truck now to see if it runs or do I gotta remove all the hard parts then start it?
@@neofuze5206 when you do the relearn u slowly rev it up till it cuts out then let off the throttle. Once done cycle the key a few times. And it should be good. Also try not to drive it a lot till you do all the work. It could set off a code
Hey man I run the single tunes. I heard bad things about The soft tunes. I head people had their ecms bricked and trucks ran like crap. They may have refined it but I’d rather not take the chance. I talked to my dealer prior to doing the swap and told them what I am doing with the truck. They were actually excited about it and can't wait to see the finished product and they have no problem doing the relearn.
Can anyone tel me where those plugs go I ordered them because my truck is saying service emissions system and I only have 42k miles on it not real happy about it so I’m looking into deleting it not gonna deal with this anymore
great content so far. as a total newb, I appreciate the extra details about bolt size, how far to back it off, etc. when you get to wrenching on main stuff I'm hoping to you can break it down to us like were 5 years old(Im a newb but motivated). thanks for the content so far. its greatly appreciated. in my state its impossible to find a shop that can help so videos like this are my only hope to do my 19' L5P.
Love the videos. Fellow l5p owner. Really looking to dive into the delete at some point as well
Just did mine the other day, running the 60 tune right now and already seeing a 4mpg increase
Bryan M wow amazing how much better the engine performs once it can breathe. Truck is going in this week to get "the works" done

great video! maybe a dumb question, but to you have to do the process individually for the TCM and ECM on the laptop as far as swapping and inputting vin, or do you just select both and install new at sametime?
When you swap the hardware you only need to write the vin once. The tcm is already “unlocked” and you are just uploading a tune on it. Hope that helps
I'll be upgrading to a L5P eventually
The L5P Duramax is an absolute beast. I absolutely love my truck
