He is a trained Hindustani Classical Music singer, and is a phenominal singer ! He is Pitch perfect and the melody is great, the kind of music he sings touches your heart. We not only have notes but there are micro notes as well. Very different from the West. None of the rules of the western music applies to the Hindi music. More than a thousand years ago old art.

Hence the different style of singing you identified. The Indian classical music (with two different schools of Hindustani and Carnatic) inform most music coming out of what is known as the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal and a few other countries). You can check out Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal for other Indian singers. For Sonu, you can check out "Abhi mujh me kahi" and for Shreya, "Piya bole, Piyu Bole" or "Mere Dholna". These are legends and have hundreds of songs to their credit. But you have to start somewhere, you know! As for more Arijit recommendations, I don't know where to start. I would love to see you react to "Laal Ishq" and "Hawayen." Also, if you can, please react to "Kun Faya Kun" by Javed Ali, Mohit Chauhan and A R Rahman (The Burklee Music school has a performance on it which you can check out) and Khwaja mere Khwaja by A R Rahman. These last two songs will transport you to a different world. I will recommend more if you like and decide to continue on your journey of discovering Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi music! Also, if possible, please check out the lyrics for the songs because it can be objectively said that songs from this part of the world are superior to the West when it comes to lyrics in popular culture, although I have to admit that the superficiality has seeped into our music following globalisation (I am not saying that all Western/American music is shallow) and we too unfortunately come out with not so admirable music nowadays!

This is a medley of 12 or 13 of his songs, just a few lines of each song. The way one song flows into the other is really good. He is a trained Hindustani Classical Music singer, and is a phenominal singer ! He is Pitch perfect and the melody is great, the kind of music he sings touches your heart. We not only have notes but there are micro notes as well. Very different from the West. None of the rules of the western music applies to the Hindi music. More than a thousand years ago old art.

He is classically trained in Hindustani music. Hence, the quiet confidence in him!😊 Most Indian singers are classically trained, or at least the most loved are. Hence the different style of singing you identified. The Indian classical music (with two different schools of Hindustani and Carnatic) inform most music coming out of what is known as the Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal and a few other countries). You can check out Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal for other Indian singers. For Sonu, you can check out "Abhi mujh me kahi" and for Shreya, "Piya bole, Piyu Bole" or "Mere Dholna". These are legends and have hundreds of songs to their credit. But you have to start somewhere, you know! As for more Arijit recommendations, I don't know where to start. I would love to see you react to "Laal Ishq" and "Hawayen." Also, if you can, please react to "Kun Faya Kun" by Javed Ali, Mohit Chauhan and A R Rahman (The Burklee Music school has a performance on it which you can check out) and Khwaja mere Khwaja by A R Rahman. These last two songs will transport you to a different world. I will recommend more if you like and decide to continue on your journey of discovering Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi music!
Also, if possible, please check out the lyrics for the songs because it can be objectively said that songs from this part of the world are superior to the West when it comes to lyrics in popular culture, although I have to admit that the superficiality has seeped into our music following globalisation (I am not saying that all Western/American music is shallow) and we too unfortunately come out with not so admirable music nowadays!
