- This is an unused version of the theme music to the 1980-1982 version of the Goodson-Todman NBC U.S. game show "Blockbusters", which was hosted by Bill Cullen. This music is by Bob Cobert.

2:07-2:32 That guitar solo ❤️❤️❤️ Most of the other cues fade out at the beginning of it, but to hear the whole solo make this cue special! I wonder who was the guitar player at this studio session...
I believe Bob Cobert recorded this music with his own orchestra and wasn't affiliated with Score Productions at the time.
They were probably going to start using this with the blue set and unused logo had the show stayed on past 4/23/1982.
I like this unused completely theme version.
The gift that keeps on giving
Those long synth-guitar notes do sound spacey. But I have to say it's a cool variation on the theme, good for just enjoying on UA-cam, but I couldn't see it working with the announcer's voice-over.
I like it! It's different, but interesting!
Sounds like a theme to a cheesy late 1970s sci-fi series.
It sort of reminds me of how they did the ticket plug on Match Game where they put in a high synth part over tte original theme. So, maybe they could have used this as a ticket plug rather than for the opening or closing.
Yeah that might actually get annoying after a bit, kind of sounds like the twilight zone.
thanks, but NO, thanks. the REAL theme song is IT.
Thank god the synth was dumped for the trumpet.
Bob Cobert... why I'm not sure.
How errie that music is.
It would have never worked on the show. I wish Bob Cobert had recorded this track exactly how it is, just minus the theremin part.
what am I, in outer space??
If you really wanna feel like in outer space, the last track of this music package’s master tape actually has a synth version of the Gold Run Loss that’s pretty trippy 😂
