Well Steve Winwood has a legendary career as a producer, piano player with multiple hit songs with three different groups and several hits as a solo artist
the guitar player is Nile Rodgers , he is truly one of the biggest legends of all times in the music industry
Well I certainly do remember Gimme Some Lovin - AM Radio in my father's pickup truck. My sister had a Blind Faith LP that got scratchy and worn long before it was worth anything as collectible vinyl. Me, the friends and family, all knew about Chaka Khan and Rufus from tuning into FM radio, but we weren't quick to recall Steve Windwood until they showed his face - and mentioned his credentials - on the MTV with Valerie, Higher Love... aahhh ok that guy!
I really had to watch your video 2 or 3 times, Quay.
It's when you noticed Chaka Khan there and you leaned right towards the screen.
When I first heard "Bring Me A Higher Love" on the radio I instantly recognized Chaka Khan's voice. Even though there was no video for me to watch.
That's when I realized how much singing and recording she was gettin' busy with.
The next song I heard her on was Quincy Jones' "Stuff Like That".
I still can't get enough of her singing, Quay.
Chaka Khan stays busy.
She sang "Help Me" at Joni Mitchell's 75th Birthday Celebration.
And she sang "I'm Goin' Up Yonder" at Aretha Franklin's funeral.
When Chaka Khan is singing to honor somebody, she performs at levels only she can reach.
I thank you for watching
Hi Ms. Quay, I was wondering how long it would take U to recognize the Great Chaka Khan, U did good..
On a different note, I saw a young Lady Sports Announcer yesterday and she sounds very similar to U.. Her name is Ivory Latta,
an All American from UNC Tar Heels.. I live about 50 miles away for Chapel Hill.. I am pretty good with voices.. ♠Mr.G..
These are some bad mo fo’s tearing it up
Chaka Khan is generous with her talent. Reminding me of other well known entertainers who could step back and suddenly appear in "the background" with a lesser known artist taking the lead, like WTF!?
Steve Winwood definitely wasn’t a lesser known artist. At that point he was already a legend having started his career in the 60s being lead vocals for the Spencer Davis Group..ever heard the song Gimme Some Lovin? He also. Had a successful seventies career as well with Traffic and Blind Faith. His solo career started poppin in the late 70s early 80s. So if anything Chaka was very happy to do this with him.
