Here's a Teresa Graves story for ya. December 1969 Chu Lai South Vietnam. Bob Hope brought his show to Chu Lai featuring Connie Stevens and Teresa Graves among others. Teresa had already performed and was backstage. Connie Stevens was on stage performing and they called up a bunch of guys to meet her. She goes down the line and gives each guy a peck on the cheek. That is until she got to the black guy. She walked up to him and stuck out her hand to shake his hand. Can't lay a kiss on him, might catch something. We, the black soldiers, proceeded to boo that funky witch mercilessly. All of a sudden who comes dashing out of the backstage but Teresa graves in a beautiful tan jumpsuit that was form fitting. She pushed stupid Connie Stevens out of the way and laid a big wet kiss on the black soldier's lips. She then turned to Ms Stevens who was standing there with the stupidest look I've ever seen on a woman and laid into her for what she did to the black soldier. I will never forget Teresa Graves because she made our day that day. A beautiful soul, may she forever rest in peace.

I thought she was so pretty and her wardrobe was always amazing, besides a name that sounded so cool. After several episodes, her show never appeared on our TV screen again which was a total disappointment for a young girl like me.
