Awesome work bro, can’t believe you scratch build all that
Wood bumper at the front I reckon. Could make a metal short dump truck bin for the back with a roof protector over the cab, rust it up. Might look pretty cool.
Looking good man. It's screaming for a wooden bumper. The fenders look fantastic.
Great job on the video👍🏻
oh hell!! Remote Control Hobbies is one of the shops i frequent.... Nice!! 👍👍
Third times the charm! lol It's turning out sweet; very different from any other 1/14 semi I've ever seen done. This is why I wanted to send you one, I knew it was going to be cool and different.
I tried to play it safe and just build a semi, lol Never works out for me.
Sure looks good, love the COE truck Wesmade is building too, greatly appreciated video, very much so for the radio control construction 'trails & tribulations' and antiqued wooden truck bumper 👍
Good Work 🙂
Sweet rig
Have you considered a tube bumper? Steel looking round tube either one larger one, or two smaller sized ones? I'm not sure how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, but you could place two horizontally and then two shorter pieces on each side of the grill, but below the headlights. That could also set you up for "cow catcher" style brush guard up front. That and a headache rack could add a lot of attitude, lots of light options (don't know if you want to light it up or not). Who knows where that could take you. Just a few thoughts. Love your channel, again, amazing content.
Music sounds like part of Miami vice movie lol
That's a great-looking bill you did great work look forward to seeing the final
I like the build as is, but maybe try tucking the fuel tank under the door. Could cut off the back of the tank and use wood for a mount. Thanks for sharing!
Looks sweet. Maybe an old school fuel truck would look good.
That would be cool
I saw a fuel truck as soon as i seen the fenders attacked 👌
The curve would suit it
Looks cool and for my taste I think is asking for mud flaps and some metal cover to complement the body or just the flaps and see how it goes from there. Other then that looks some thunder doom stuff.
Looks pretty sick josh! Love your builds, very unique. I think a beat up, oil stained wood flatbed would look good on it. Maybe some rusted out toolboxes hang off the under side of the bed behind the cab
That looks evil mate 👍 what a beast !!!
When I think of rat trucks, the evil truck from the movie Duel comes to mind. It had a lovely bumper (and bump it did) made from what looked like railroad tracks.
Do you want to go along the lines of "Custom Rat Rod" or "normal truck after decades of hard work"? For the latter I can also imagine a bumper with some worn out tire tread nailed to it.
Incredible job man. Looking awesome
Awsum truck!
Try anealing the metal (use a smokey torch flame to soften the metal). "Jessie James West coast Chopper's" does that to form his bike parts.
Chopped locked and ready to rock !👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dude, your builds, attention to detail, etc are awesome and inspiring. This one is no exception. However, something seems off. Hard to pinpoint what. Obviously those are 40s fenders on a 20s cab which from the side look like theyll work. Front shot doesnt look right. Maybe fenders are a little too wide? Cant put my thumb on it. No doubt you'll get it, you always do. Keep up the awesome work. Cant wait to see what this turns into.
Not bad at all!
Glad you got it in the end. Good thing is I still have the molds worst case!
Yeah i completely brain farted on the width, lol. Didn't spend enough time sitting and staring at it first.
Drill out the lights on Globe bumper, then just add more lightning holes across the bottom of it to match the visor.
I could maybe see some Wood steps under the cab doors, with tanks behind the cab or or the rails
Could also make like a 30s style fire truck for the back end. Kind of a curved front part of the bed the steps down toward the back.
A box trailer for that truck would be a great place to hide the esc, battery, and reciver. All you would have is the servo, motor and trans on the truck. Give you room for an interior
I have been watching this channel for so long. I love it. Just wish I could afford a trail rig for me and my son to play with after we watch your channel. Still out of work because of this damndemic..
Have you tried annealing the light sheet metal you use? Might make it easier to form.
Looks great. I’ve seen you weather plastic before so I think you could’ve pulled if off. Where did you get the hood? I have the cab and grill but I didn’t know there was a hood.
Try making rear fenders out of metal to cover both sets of tires. Then rust them
great idea gud stile
Super like 😀👍
I like the fenders black a lot of aftermarket panels come black I would just scratch them up to show bare metal as if they have been kicked about in the workshop. I would build a complete wooden bed for the back with just metal joints and corners and just have the wood rough finish, as for the bumper a replica I beam just bolted to the front all rusty just shiny bolts holsing it on. The wheels need to be weathered although I did se a 1-1 rat rod truck that had some stuff shiny new, add a couple of odd lights to the I beam bumper and have one working one not lol her am I taking over the build in my head, can you tell I have gone stir crazy now still in full lockdown here in the UK. I have nearly finished all my builds a day's work on each at the moet but did dig out my three old gas race buggies and truck from the 70's and these are total rebuilds lets hope it is over before I get too deep into them as they all need a lot of cash spent on them and I am not earning at the moment. So keep the build uploads flowint to break the boredom thanks.
Are you gonna do anything with the globe liner cab and extras for the original body? cause id like to make a slammed cambered drift/show truck as a new project and I think with that coe cab it would look and preform great
I like were you going with this I think it’s pretty damn cool the front bumper nice cut of unit set the grill down low like you know what I mean and go with whatever paint scheme you want to do but it look cool if it was a nice shiny paint just saying
How about a heavy duty wrecker body on back...........or a Rotator Wrecker.
Peroxide has a shelf life and will turn to water.
Build it as a globe liner. Please....... Paint it like a retro 70s semi.
Fricken finally
Car trailer for the rat rods
hi what the globe liner cimi needs is a cow catcher.
Channel the body more to the frame. And make a bigger bumper out of that metal.
It’s channeled about as far as I can go already. The grill is sitting on the bumper mount
How about a rat rodded heavy duty wrecker
Man there was so many times that I wish I had a railroad cross-tie mounted on my semi's instead of my pretty chrome Texas bumpers. LOL
How would I go about just the cab with no fenders that's a pretty cool build and what truck kit is that
The kit is a tamiya globe liner. The body is 3d printed from nightcrawlers3d.com.
If you sand the chrome off the bumper leave it rough enough for paint to take use the rust paints. As for the fenders if Wes is willing, get him to mold some new ones (the metal doesn't look right)! The width looks perfect though. Old Iron RC uses all steel then salt and vinegar and throws it out in the garden to let it rust naturally. I think the paint methods you have used before work pretty well so don't give up on it! Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
I wish I had ur skills
Add a little salt to the patina mix
Get rid of that front diff put a roll back on it haul a rat rod nice job man 🤙
Show muito lindo,,,,,
ah ah ah ah oh oh oh baby yes yes ah ah ah oh oh
I want to say you need a couple Kegs for fuel tanks, but at only 15 gallons in a half barrel... They would be too small. So maybe some rusty looking rectangle tanks, if you had some dimensions on how big you want them I could print you up a pair. I did a rectangle style tank on my 1/6th scale CXT if you check here: instagram.com/p/B7zN-h6A3c7/?
The movie truck in Duel had a metal rack over the conventional bumper.
