I follow all the UA-cam Rules and my last video got 100 views. This one has 415. So do the math. I am holding my breath until you use that pepper jelly. Your steak looked perfect! Rootboy Approved🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺!
I would love to get a Kick Off Grill because I am AMERICAN! I am also slightly jealous of you being outdoors and able to stand out there. Freezing here in Union country! lol Great cook Lew, Jesus is King!
Tried the S.W.a.T sauce last night on some beef tips which then got skewered and grilled on the Sportsman Pro. DANG that is a great sauce! I marinated the tips about 3 or 4 hours and added my basic rub. The whole family was going crazy over them and also they smelled great while grilling. I did change out Tabasco for Crystal since that's what we had. Definitely will be using S.W.a.T again and thanks for the recipe! The wind picked up as soon as I had the grill going so I needed to add a few more coals, and it made think maybe the old Sportsman grill has an advantage with that charcoal door. I had to lift off the grate to get some extra coals on there.
I do love the kickoff grill and it’s simplicity. I don’t understand why people bash this product. It’s really simple, easy to use, clean and cook with. Either way I gotta try this recipe but I haven’t had much of a chance since it has been very cold where I live. Keep up the awesome videos Big Lew. Take care and stay safe.
Every time I see one of those kickoff grills I want one more and more! That steak turned out awesome Big Lew! I used to be able to get them here but I haven't seen them for a long time! Good work out there Bud!
I go to the same school that you do. Do it cuz you want to and if other want to join on the fun, they're more than welcome. Rules? We don't need no stinking Rules!!!😎👍 I don't see to many of those flatiron stakes up here, and when I do, they seem to cost more than rib eyes and strips. As I mentioned before, I have a Sportsmen's still in the box and couple Weber kettle grills that rarely get used. So 8 don't think any new grills are in my future for awhile, but ya never know.
Good video big lew you tube rules ! Last time I looked this is still America . they have to many rules !!! I like your video's. So take that big Lee.. Thank you Frank from montana...
I love my Kick Off grill or as some comments on our videos say a glorified upside down Dutch Oven with holes in it. I think all the folks that bad mouth this little gem should go buy one and then they would see how great it truly is. Man that steak turned out just perfect! And yep that Beef and Bison rub is fantastic.
@@BigLewBBQ Yes sir we did the same thing. Oh Rhonda just bought a new bag for one of the 12 inch Dutch Ovens we just got. This time she bought one from Cabela's it was half the price of the Lodge bags and it seems to be made better. Just something to keep in mind if you ever need another one. As long as the price is half that is what I will be getting if I need any new ones in the future.
You guys should check out your local thrift stores. I find some pretty nice gym duffel bags for my DO's for just a few bucks. A couple of old towels and some cardboard and I'm good to go. More money to spend on bacon and steak. Found a big duffle bag that my Camp Chef griddle fits into for $2.

@@BigLewBBQ .. really!!.. I own a cajun classic..Does the lack of a door create a problem when you want to do the grilling over 2hours needing more coals?
@@minorsnow5306 the Cajun Classic is a great grill. By saying the Lodge Kickoff is better does not mean that the Cajun one is a bad choice. I have the Cajun small, the Old Lodge Sportsman, the new Lodge Sportsman’s Pro as well as the Kickoff. All are good table top cast iron hibachi grills. Yet the Kickoff is unique. The others are all very similar in the way they operate. However, the Kickoff is fundamentally different. It is for this reason that I said it is better. It’s better because it is different. First it is only two cast pieces, and two steel handles. (It can be operated w/o the handles.) The Cajun like the old Lodge Sportsman is six pieces of cast iron. The bottom, the bowl, (which are attached) the coal grate and the grill grate, the draft door and the coal door. It also has a grate lifting handle which isn’t necessary for operation. There are more pieces to keep up with and potentially loose. More pieces to clean and keep well seasoned to prevent rust. This difference is one reason I said the Kickoff is better. The other reason is that the Kickoff’s design retards flare ups of the flames. I trust it not burst into flames when cooking greasy foods like burgers or chicken pieces. Because of this difference I think it is better. However, you do have to lift the grate off and remove food to add coals during long cooking sessions. Because of this difference the Cajun Classic version is better. As you pointed out. One load of coals in both grills will last about forty-five minutes to an hour. Rarely are you cooking food on an open hibachi grill that takes that long. However, if you are cooking for a crowd in successive batches the Cajun Grill or the old Sportsman with the coal access door is a better option. Generally, for my preference, I prefer to cook on the Kickoff more often than the others. That’s all.

The Lodge KickOff.
