It's interesting to note that Jacob's theme ties into this music here - you can hear it while he's talking about all the events that brought everyone here.
This is a self fulfilling prophesy. Faraday had to have this epiphany for the events of lost to occure. You cannot fight time travel rules no matter how hard you try. The universe knows what you will do before you do and its planned areas
Well Daniel was absolutely right they had the power to change the past because yes it was their present. It doesn't change the fact that they are only people who exist in the universe and not someone who exists outside able to see all variables that could happen. The entire joke being that if they simply stopped and did nothing the past would have been changed. Granted the world may have been destroyed considering the ramifications that the Swan Station blowing up would have, according to the story.
@@thelavinator6343 Weird to the human mind, but that is because you can not change the past. Even in Einstein's last unproven theory, multiple planes exist one slightly behind or ahead of the other. Altering one thing that has already happened would destroy all of those planes that are ahead. The butterfly effect comes into play. The variables are so numerous, the universe of all the forward planes could not sustain the mass change without imploding. Destroying the futures would case the inability to leave them and return to the past. The Terminator series explored this successfully. They knew by going into the past to destroy John Connor would destroy the future where they were defeated and destroy the ability to return to the past again.
@@awesomestuff6477 If they did nothing though, nothing would've changed because they always did nothing. This is why you can't change the past. In reality, the past itself doesn't even exist outside fiction. As time itself and passage of time, is merely an idea created by us.
The annoying thing about this scene is that it marks the moment that Faraday forgets his own rules about time travel. If he had said that the island is the exception, and not people (which is what defies his rules throughout the rest of the season), then it may have been easier to buy into.
My headcanon is Jacob visited him while he was off island with the dharma initiative. I believe Jacob planted this idea into Faraday's mind in order for the chain of events to be started and to get the group back where they needed to be. You have to remember they are candidates and dont belong in 1977, MiB put them there. Whether he meant to put them in 1977 or not is anyone's guess (the island also puts people where they need to be for events to happen correctly) but it was through his advice to John Locke they ended up there and Jacob needed them back. So it is possible, since Jacob had some form of ability to see the future, that Jacob knew all this would happen and put the idea in Faraday's mind that this could prevent Charlotte dying. And since Faraday was desperate he listened, despite the rules.
First Law of Thermodynamics - Energy can neither be created or destroyed. As a physicist he should know that. It can however be converted. In this case I think it was. Been a while since I have seen it.
So in the end, Faraday was wrong.. was he mad or was he really on to something? In a manner of speaking, what he suggests is what needed to happen because it always happened. But what made him think it would actually be different than what he himself had been saying over and over again? Whatever happened, happened, can't change the past.
Is this supposed to be intentionally hilarious? Their facial expressions while he’s talking make me laugh. It’s like it’s almost too much for them to understand.
Nerd About Dogs I’m british, and it be rich for british people to complain when we have 2 Batmen, 2 spider-men, Superman, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Docyor strange, Lincoln, Ben Franklin, so on so on. Only fair.
This show ws so well cast. Not a single character was cast poorly. I became attached to every single one of them.
AGREED!!
Leonard Ramirez me too❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I disagree, one very bad casting was Mother in the across the sea episode. She looked so out if place!

i think that this was one of the greatest series in the last 20 years or so..just marvelous it was..
AGREED! Greatest Series Ever!
Love Daniel Faraday
You know that tingly feeling you get when you see Daniel smile? It's called the Faraday effect
Insert Clever Name see when Faraday’s charm is so overwhelming you can’t move, that’s a Faraday Cage.

He was desperate enough to try and stop the events that led Charlotte to die on the Island.

And when talking about "destroying energy" he also forgets the First Law of Thermodynamics 😜
Jeremy Davies was a great actor in Lost
as much as i love daniel
he's lost it.. i'm with miles.. i think they caused the inncident..

Literally his idea lead to build the hatch :)

He knew he couldnt change the past. But he wasnt driven by logic here, he wanted to find a way to save charlotte.
Daniel is funny af
Hid voice is so attractive
Why does he always look like he’s on the verge of tears?
Because he’s nuts lol. Loved him, though. Just distressed with all that knowledge.
But we wouldn't have , 4,8,15,16,23,42 ? & Lottery !
Oh dear Daniel, we all know that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted to a different form. First Law of Thermodynamics 😜
what were his last words, those when he is responding for Kate question? I can't understand that. Could someone write it to me?
"I'm gonna detonate a hydrogen bomb"
My favorite characters where Hurley and James Alias Sawyer
