Hearing this really, REALLY hurt... this scene was just as heavy as some of the scenes from the Awakening Dragon CDs... Now it makes perfect sense on why Takumi was beyond angry, hostile, even outright murderous against Corrin in Conquest. Anankos truly preyed deeply into that existing hatred and turned Takumi into a revenge seeking monster. That's the thing. Anankos doesn't plant ANYTHING in them. All Anankos does is literally enhances the emotions already inside them. Garon's despair and Takumi's hatred. He just took advantage of those things and eventually took control of them, eventually leading them to die and ultimately becoming Anankos' slaves.
Whats worse is garon was a kind strong courageous man who beat the rainbow sage challenge like sumuragi an honourable man and takumi a 16 year old child with nighmares and low self esteem beung compared to ryouma while his family see him as being a child is he is hurting inside and it takes all these men and ruins them.
ivanbluecool Actually, Hinoka and Ryoma have never been able to be his emotional support. Ryoma was busy being the high prince, and Hinoka was desperate to save Corrin. Takumi only had Sakura, and would have had Aura too, but even then he couldn't do that so often, because he's too old for one thing and too young for another. Being the middle child really struck, especially when a stranger arrives and everyone just fawns over him. While his suspicions for Azura is mostly unfounded, his hostility towards Corrin is entirely justified, and really, this incident was just the icing on the cake. Add what happens in Conquest, where at the end Sakura is captured, Takumi lost the one remaining person as an emotional crutch.
In kaze and sakura support. Sakura talks about showing takumi her dolls and he scoffs at them. This shows how he tries to keep his distance and can't properly talk to her alone. Hinok and his support shows his recklessness at beating thr enemy and hinoka treating him as a child as he acts like one. Ryouma in orochi support talks highly of hinoka as a fighter and sakura as a kind person. While he says takumi is still childish in his own words. How sad is that. Things get better but this is before as takumi has nightmares. Low self esteem. Lost love from his family by them siding with kamui as he killed mikoto with the sword explosion. Takumi is pretty much alone if not for mikoto who died. He even said so himself that he should leave as kamui should take the fujin yumi and he should leave. That is so sad as takumi almost gave up if not for oboro and hinata. Pretty tragic and whats worse is thats the beggining of the game
I know these CDs follow the Birthright route, but here you can really see the beginnings of the mad personality that Takumi will develop on the Conquest route.
Looking though takumi's eyes you can see that takumi has to work hard to barley get any love from anyone(besides oboro) and kamui gets love from everyone just after killing people from hoshido. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE. I am on takumi's side. I like kamui. But takumi is a better character overall.

Takumi is clearly having a mental breakdown after watching his mother die. He even checks out from reality at some point and has to be protected by his retainers and Saizo. Do you really expect him to think logically at a time like that?

You can hear the pain in takumi's voice as mikoto died and the sadness in oboro as she couldn't help him emotionally.
