i remember when i was in high school and i was rocking their long sleeve shirt, some random dude came up to me, he was rockin a BANE shirt ! We started hanging together, being the two only hardcore heads of the whole school....Real good old days !

crazy how much the positive message of straight edge had an impact on me, though i never claimed and drank/smoke to my limits the passion/anger i absorbed from this shit is noticable. respect to all who stayed true to that shit. its sad that culture vultures plague straight edge these days

Wow... and to think that I bought this record in 1988, for $3.50. I bought it because some of the guys from Justice League were in the band. I had no idea how much influence this would have on hardcore. Crazy
I remember they used to get called "GQ hardcore". People were jealous. COS got real popular, real quickly with only 2 - 7"s that didn't have good production. I bought both and several shirts too. :)

I wasn't sxe but like some of it, this being my favorite EP (LP's by Youth of Today). I don't think I ever saw them live, I did see bands at the Country Club like Insted, Carry Nation and Shelter. I tripped out on all the kids in sneakers and a freaking Hare Krishna.

At one point in life, you have to realize having a drink or two or smoke a joint once and a while with moderation isn't going to do any damage to you or anyone, and actually helps you relax from a stressful day at work. As for having sex, pussy is amazing! Straightedge is too cliquish. Addiction is no good either. Straightedge and drug/alcohol addiction are extremes, extremes are bad in general.
