Why does everyone dislike Harimoto so much? He is still very young and there is plenty of time to mature his game and behavior. He clearly watched a lot of Naruto anime. Keep roaring young fella!
Someone mentioned in another game where he was quiet that he only does the excessive celebrations against opponents that are higher ranked than him. I haven’t taken the time to verify other than that match but if so that makes me like him more.
Yes, Harimoto yells too much which can be annoying, but let’s keep things in perspective, the kid is only 16 and he is playing at the highest level in table tennis and hitting some incredible shots against the world’s number one ranked player. You have to give it to the kid, he didn’t back down and kept fighting until the last point. There’s no shame in losing to a great player like Xu Xin. My advice for him is to learn to have better mental control and to improve his footwork and anticipation. Too often he is caught flat footed and off balance. He may be able to get away with lazy footwork against lesser players, but not against someone like Xu Xin.

Hey, I found in several matches xu xin did not put all effort
In some of those it looked like Xu Xin's opponents kept his feet planted in one part of the table. A player like Xu Xin, you need to keep them stationery to have a chance of beating them. They revell in the movement.

打许昕都知道要压反手调正手，张本一直就是靠接台内拧拉许昕的反手在先发制人，问题是现在许昕的反手可以直接加倍反冲你的拧拉，张本唯一的战术支点没了，于是各种弱点被无限放大。
以前都是这思路，今年许昕反手突然多了一板弹击加稳拉，很多人瞬间就不知道怎么打了

John Burgess, and Jill, formerly Hammersley, Parker. She was quite the international star, and even wrote a TT instruction book. I think the dynamic here is that they are simply enjoying themselves in a chummy way; they are looking on with implicit shared knowledge and not bothering to do the _JOB_ of _COMMENTATING_ . A bunch of mindless adjective don't cut it, and somebody should _tell_ them, or else go get Adam Bobrow.

Even though Harimoto is really good he has a tough time playing against XX because his play style is very different and likes to play smart. Ma Long and FZD on the other hand, rely more on power plays than placement.
@@Kenchinito2207 Yep, Harimoto seemed to struggle to control the spinny shots from XX. He probably didn't have much chance to spar with a penholder at the level of XX in practice like the Chinese players. ML is actually a smart player with very nice control strategy. But even in beast mode, his backhand weakness can still be exploited when playing backhand to backhand rallies against a good backhand like Harimoto. ML struggles against Harimoto the same way he did against ZJK and Wang Hao back then.
It seems impossible for harimoto to beat a player like Xu Xin, because hari doesn't play so well far from the table, he should have to improve A LOT!

Ngay từ khi mới chơi bb vào những năm 1969 tôi đã được biết là khi đánh với người cầm vợt dọc thì phải hạn chế đưa bóng vào khu vực nách tay cầm vợt của họ vì ở khu vực đó là những đòn sát thủ của họ rất biến hoá không phán đoán được hướng đánh bóng. Còn đối với Xu Xin thì vô cùng biến hoá, vô cùng xoáy... Harimoto gặp mãi mà vẫn không rút được kinh nghiệm.

Harimoto was quite used to XX's topsin. But he made more errors during topspin rallies. Is it due to his new D05 rubber which is said to be more grippy than T05?
Congrats to xuperman. But i want to say that having played xu xin so many times and not able to beat him even once I think Japan's coach is not up the mark. Harimoto is a kid but the strategies can be given by the coach only.

Xu Xin seems to be the perfect counter to Harimoto. Sure, Ma Long or FZD can beat Harimoto, but Xu Xin's powerful spin just counters Harimoto's style of speed perfectly.
