    Hi, Nicki! Your garden is beautiful. Also, you live in such a lovely area. Thank you for sharing. Otherwise, some of us would never see the beautiful sea or your side of the world 🌷👍🤗

    I live on a west coast island in Canada and we have that damp humidity issue too. I run a dehumidifer regularly and that really helps with the mold. Also, use a lysol wipe on leathers, etc that start growing mold and it will kill the mold spores. We have to wipe the walls in the backs of our closets and have painted them with Killz, an anti-mold paint.

    I love your videos! I’m the Chilean who saw you on your kayak with Holly. It’s wonderful to see what daily life is like in Positano, and it’s what I loved most about my recent three weeks in Italy, we visited many small towns in Tuscany and Umbria apart from the Amalfi coast, and to be able to see how people go about their daily routines is fascinating. Keep up the wonderful videos, which are so varied and entertaining. Christine from Chile,

    We live here in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) it gets very humid here as well, we have a Dehumidifier to remove the water out of the air and solved the issue of moldy leather along with keeping closet doors slightly ajar for air circulation.

    Watching some of your older videos now I'm all caught up on recent ones. Interesting what you said about the Positano winters being damp and humid. It's the same here in NZ and I too found English winters a drier cold. I lived there fir 3 years. Also the heating is so much better in the UK. In NZ I need an electric blanket or the bed feels damp. In the UK I never felt I needed one.

    Hey Nicki, Here's a suggestion for preserving your leather goods from humidity. Put them in one of those bags vacuum bags that you have to suck all of the air out of here. I don't know if they sell them in Italy but surely they do in Britain. Try that and see if that works. It's worth a try as leather is so expensive.

    Thanks Nicki! Your garden is amazing. Also, I love that Holly speaks both English and Italian. I live a a swamp near the coast in New Jersey. De-humidifier has helped us a bit with mold and mildew.

      We have a dehumidifier in one room, maybe I'll have to get another one!

    Another great video! My dad had a huge garden for years! When he started having hip problems he stopped the garden. We ate so much of those crops. Mom always canned. No peaches have ever matched hers!

    Nicki, Zip lock bags with a few packs of silica gel might do the trick for your boots. Thanks for the very informative video. Hi Holly and Allie.

  • @bernicebabe4154
    @bernicebabe4154 3 роки тому

    Mould on your boots reminds me of Whangarei, NZ, where that happened frequently because of the high humidity. We could also never leave washing in the machine for even a few minutes after it finished or it would smell. Out onto the clothesline pronto! Now we live in the Tasman district in the South Island where the climate is drier and we don't have that problem as often.

    Thank you very much! To hear of your Garden is very attractive für me - sorry my english is not good.
    I was in Positano two times 1978 and 79. It was my first trip in the south. I was very happy to sea the flowers, the fruits, the sun.
    I am living in the north of germany, near to danmark. We have a great garden and a greenhouse with tomatoes and chilis. This year it was very warm, nice! But in most of the sommers it is not so warm...my be I visite Positano in the next years once more...Till then i am locking your nice videos. 😊

    Thanks Nicki, I absolutely love your garden and those stunning views. We live in Melbourne Australia and have very similar soil and climate to positano so also grow lemons, olives and tomatoes and things like carrots and parsnips we have had no luck with at all.

      that's interesting to know.. can you grow sweet potatoes?

    • @roslynmonahan1352
      @roslynmonahan1352 6 років тому

      I haven’t tried sweet potatoes we would probably need another garden bed to do them. I imagine they would take up a bit of space.

    Wondering if you would spray your boots with fabric guard or water resistant spray if it would help with the mold?

    ciao Nicky, sono un Italo australiano maschio, I recently subscribed to your channel and find it most interesting in all categories (except for the makeup segments). Thanks for letting us look into your home, lifestyle, family and of course positano and the surrounding towns. Your adventure to Sydney was interesting, I do the Manly to Spit walk every month. I was just thinking about the 465 steps to your home, I think it would be feasible to fit a rail about 18 to 24 inches high from the ground alongside the steps and fit a chair driven by a rechargeable battery/motor, in its down/bottom position it would be on constant charge so it would always have a full charge and be ready to go. I think Carlos would be up for this its just basic engineering.

      OK, you try asking the authorities for permission for that! I'll sit back and watch...😂😂We're still waiting for street lighting for night time...let alone a motorised chairlift!

    Could you keep leather boots etc in plastic vacuum bags with those little silica bags that are in everything you buy? I'm sure you've tried it already but it seems like it should work!

    • @NickiPositano
      @NickiPositano  6 років тому

      Um, no, haven't tried that! Will do...if I can find a really big jiffy bag!

    • @hypea1

      I hope it works! I have some pretty large ones that can be used to store duvets and pillows, I'm sure you can find something big enough!

    If you grew mold on your boots that were in your closet, the mold is most likely on the clothing and anything else in your closet. This can make people quite ill. Mold (Mycotoxin) illness can be dangerous.
