Wow, really like how 'free-style" when you take the shots and really really being couraged how you approach people to cooperate with your lens with the communication technique...blessings
Very cool video man! You come over very charismatic and friendly. Some lovely shots in the video i like the one with the pizza and the man who quickly tried to hide his wife's face with his hand! Would love to see more of these videos!
A photographer friend recognized me in your video, this is so cool! Gotta watch your other videos now. (I was the gogo dancer with the day of the dead makeup)
I totally recognize your thumbnail! You are so talented! Thx so much for livening up the video. I'll say hello if I ever see you out again. Blessings, Joe
Great captures. I love your easy way of asking permission and getting the shot you want. I have a Q also and just wonder, how close are you to your main subject? Do you crop your images to the main focal point? Thanks so much for sharing. cheers,
Hey there, Clare! Thx so much for your comment. Interestingly, in the intro, you can see video from the side of me super close to that guy's face. Sometimes I get carried away and distort the subject's face. But, I'd say you want to be within 3 feet for a shoulder shot with a little crop. Most of the photos you see aren't cropped much. I'd love to see some of your work! :-) Have you seen my other video with POV shots and the Sony A7rii? I just posted it last Friday. That one is fun too. Blessings, Joe
very well done! I've just uploaded the same type of street photography video, the difference is I have the GoPro on a chest mount. I have the hot shoe mount as well, I use it some time.
i like street photography and your work is very inspiring. do u have any advice how to not to be shy or hesitant when taking pictures of random people? ;) thanks
Thanks so much for your question, Rob. I try to "feel" for connections with people. I'll normally approach with a smile and just say something like "hey, I'm Joe and I'm a street photographer- may I take your photo really quick?" Many times I offer to send them one. It definitely takes guts and many times I chicken out! hehe
Paweł Głogowski Thank you so much for the question! This is the first GoPro I have ever owned, so that is a new issue to me. Can you please describe what the problem has been and what I need to look out for? Frankly, I can't say I have taken a photo with it yet but I will check it out.
Hi. I use Hero3+ for photography project, and the delay between pressing the shutter button and capturing image is around 1 second, sometimes it seems like much more. That's nowhere close to any regular cameras, that usually have shutter lag at below 100 miliseconds (0,1s), so You don't experience actual delay too much. It is very annoying, because often it's just impossible to nail the moment properly. Using burst mode won't help at all, because You still need to anticipate the moment at least a second before it happens, which is not possible in many action situations. I was wondering if Hero5 responds any faster, since they improved it's photo features. Thanks!
Dee Dee Howdy Dee Dee! In many of my videos you will indeed see me using my flash. However, I don’t believe I was using it in any of these. You will definitely know it when you see it.
I really enjoyed this and i love your interaction and your respectful ability with people
Dave Henderson
That is so kind of you! Thanks Dave. :-)

Hello, could You please comment on Hero5 shutter lag in photo mode? Trying to find any info if they fixed it at last. Cheers.

All the stills were shot at f1.7 ?
what was the ISO?
BILLYCHIU.com
All probably shot wide open. Sorry but I don't have ISO handy.
They were amazing wide open at 1.7
Super Q indeed.
What kind of rig did you use to keep the Q at that 2 feet from your head for VBLOG use?
Thanks.
