Cars childhood moments 😂😂
I listened to this song for the first time when I was a kid in the late 80s during my stepfathers sisters wedding. It played at the wedding. Her name was Jannet, her husband was Sammy. I was maybe 5 years old, the memory is foggy now, but the melody, it lives on with me forever helping me recall a distant memory. When I hear this song it helps me see that day in my minds eye more vividly, the flashbacks becomes a little clearer, a little more colorful. I remember running around with the wonder of a child exploring the world. The music helps me see what is difficult to remember.
That's what music does for us. It stays with us forever helping us carry memory, like taste, and smell, and sight, and all the other beautiful senses we have to experience in this life.
May we never take a day for granted in this life.
I hear that
Same here.

Great memories being a kid..shopping with parents.

It's the summer of 1987. I'm a 15 year old coming back to life after serious depression. I'm rediscovering music. It's 3AM. The breeze coming through the window is warm. The normally bustling city is dead quiet. This song comes on WPLJ, Power 95.

This takes me back to 1987 when this song was playing all over the place! How I miss that year! Not just 1987, but the entire 1980's!! A very special time in my life.
A shout out to the class of 1987, a very special time indeed, thanks for the memories Kenny!

I almost can't even handle the nostalgia that this induces. I was just 5 years old when this song was released. I practically grew up on Kenny G. My parents had several of his albums on vinyl back in the day. My dad worked for a radio station when I was growing up and he would always come home with all kinds of CDs. I'll never forget when he brought home a Kenny G CD in 1993. I was in the 6th grade and I had just gotten my own CD player for my bedroom for my 12th birthday. I immediately popped it in and was whisked away. I've been a huge fan ever since. Just hearing this song immediately transports me back to the good old days when life was so much simpler than it is now.
Amen
My father was not much of a music fan but he liked Kenny G after being introduced to his work by his nephew. I was 10 when I first heard Songbird and after that loved Kenny G. I have some friends go like "You like that elevator music?". Might be elevator music to them, but to me is an art and something that brings in all the nostalgia of growing up at once.
I remember when it fist came out as a kid I could never get enough of it.
I was in the 3rd grade
I'm the same age as you, and I feel the same way. My dad was a professional jazz saxophonist, and he'd always turn this way up when we were in the car. I remember him saying "Damn, for a white boy, he can play Hell outta that sax!" 😄😄I miss you, Daddy. I miss being little.
My grandpa still has this song in his pc since 2000. He would play it like at night driving home. Great nostalgic feelings❤
I am 76 years old and have been a fan of Kenny G since I first heard Song Bird. It has the most loving and soulful sounds and doesn't need lyrics. It's perfect as is. 😊
Hello!!! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan!... Stay safe!

So nostalgic and beautiful. Hearing this song on the radio as a kid on the drive home. No cell phones, no social media. When you had to turn on the radio station at the right moment to catch a song, always waiting to hear it again and grateful when you did! No repeat button, just enjoying it for those few minutes till the next time you got to hear it

Same here... similar story. I would hear this music playing when my parents picked my brothers and I up from preschool late at night. The 90's WERE better than today. And even though I might've been too young to appreciate all of the details, music like this is pure proof of it. Something went wrong after the early 2000's... everything (not just music) declined...
@@SevenFootPelican Yeah I couldn't agree more!
@@SevenFootPelican Maybe it's caused by technology. I'm an 80s kid, and our music and movies were the best...well, from the early 70s to the late 90s to be precise. Yeah, something seems to have went wrong.
