I played this at my mexican friend house with her family. It was fun. Only awkward silence was when they pulled "el negrito" because I was the only black person there so they called that card quick and moved on FAST 😅😅😅
EL BORRACHO! El tio Juan! EL CAZO! Que te ago es poco! LA MANO! Peluda! EL MELON! Tu papa esta pelon! LA SIRENA! La chichona! EL VALIENTE! (all men playing would say "ese soy YO") EL SOL! La covija de los pobres! There was always that family member that had a saying for EACH card🤦🏻♀️ 🌴🌲🌳🌛🌞⭐️☂️🍐🍉🍾🎻❤️🔔🇲🇽🦌🐠🦐🦂🕷🐸👢
Yeah! You always have that one family member whom reads the cards fast! Lol chingao! If you ain’t on top of it! Lol you can forget about them repeating the cards you missed! Lol game over! There goes that peso!!!!!☹️😩😑🤪😂🤣😂😂😍☺️🙌🏽
I used to work at a Nursing home and one of the African American staff came up to me and asked me about El Negrito, she felt offenses. I had to reassure her that it literally means a black man, cause negro is Spanish for black
We know other latino countries play lotería but it’s mexican, it was invented in mexico, that’s why we say it’s one of the most precious things for mexicans :)
• 15th century: Lotería originated in Italy as a lottery-style game of chance. • 1769: The game was introduced to Mexico by Spanish colonists, initially enjoyed by the elite. • 1887: Don Clemente Jacques began mass-producing Lotería in Mexico, making it accessible to the general public. • Early 19th century: During the Mexican War of Independence, soldiers played Lotería to pass the time and brought it home to their families. • Today: Lotería is a beloved Mexican cultural tradition, played at social gatherings and used for educational purposes.
I love your mom!! She and I started to sing "el venado el venado" at the same time! 🤣 BTW, this brings up so many amazing memories of playing Loteria with my grandma. Every time she call la palma, she'd sing "la palma de mi alma". She passed about 14 years ago but these memories among many other things I can pass down to my kids and create new memories as well. Thank you for the awesome reminder of a much simpler time. 💖
Mi tía, for as long as I can remember, has been a bad ass at playing with multiple cards. I think the most I remember her playing with was 3, but that’s still hard. And that household always read the cards off super fast and we would bet like $1 for the full card and 25¢ for the corners and another 25¢ for a row or a column. And she would win all of them sometimes
That's what my Tia Sonia's parties were known for. We would use the things from cans of beer my Tio's drank to cover up the spaces. We had the giant card though. Card #4 was mine.
Did you know the original loteria had a riddle to every image for example it would go : I have many legs , and I live with you. You'd guess the spider and Mark the spider
When your life involve Kpop then Kpop becomes life Lol it wasn't practiced in my family we really just played as a way to get more money. I know because I'm making an effort to know more about my culture. No one ever taught me so I feel like it's something I need in my life.
When you’re a pro bc can play up to 14 cards and the way that my family plays is 50cent per person (mini is 4 cards) and you can win by having 2 lines in the same card or 1 line and the 4 corners. Sometimes we add 10 cents for those that get the box in the middle (but it’s rare) As we close the game, we play for $1 to fill out the 1 of the cards that we have and we play until: 1. There’s only one winner Or 2. Something comes up or we’re tired, we’ll spilt it
The way they play is weird to me. We would either take turns drawing the cards or have one player call them out but we would go slow and give people plenty of time to find the one called. And we'd only have one card each. Never knew people played like this. We would play for pennies tho
Bruh my family playing hella expensive it was 1$ a card for each round and it was a big family so people won like 20 bucks on one win and this folks is when you go broke
En mi casa mi mamá y tías jugaban con sus amigas pero cuando ganan todo siempre decimos Catita porque se las echaba ohh si quieres demostrar que eres una Valladares(apellido familiar) original tienes que saber cómo echártelas! 😂😂😂 Sike!! JK!😏 Mi tía me va matar si mira este comentario!

If it was my family every time "el negrito" was called they would have called out your name instead lol.

EL BORRACHO! El tio Juan!

I used to play this and it was so much fun. Me and my family would play with quarters. We used frijoles and someone always has a favorite card.
My mom would always claim that I was doing brujeria when I'd win suddenly and then ban me from playing lol.
Nostalgic Logic 😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah! You always have that one family member whom reads the cards fast! Lol chingao! If you ain’t on top of it! Lol you can forget about them repeating the cards you missed! Lol game over! There goes that peso!!!!!☹️😩😑🤪😂🤣😂😂😍☺️🙌🏽
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahaha..... and my grandma saying "ya pasó el venaoooo????, espérateee!" so much fun
My family plays this at all our big functions. It's $.25 buy in!
Grew up playing this and now I play this with my kids. Greatest game ever.
I used to work at a Nursing home and one of the African American staff came up to me and asked me about El Negrito, she felt offenses. I had to reassure her that it literally means a black man, cause negro is Spanish for black

Wrong. It was invented in Italy. And taken to Mexico by the Spaniards.
On the last round of lotería we would make it 50¢ instead of 25¢ 😂
Same
same but we would make it $1 😂
I love your mom!! She and I started to sing "el venado el venado" at the same time! 🤣 BTW, this brings up so many amazing memories of playing Loteria with my grandma. My favorite card was number 6 :)

When your life involve Kpop then Kpop becomes life
Lol it wasn't practiced in my family we really just played as a way to get more money. I know because I'm making an effort to know more about my culture. No one ever taught me so I feel like it's something I need in my life.
Is it bad to play at night. In my family we don’t play at night because of the diablo card.
It is really fun but the way we played, when you won you took a shot or made someone else take a shot!
mrs. powda You must have only played as an adult. Lol! At least I hope. Haha
Escalera oooooooo !!!
loooottteeerrrrrrriiiiiaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
in my family they all fight for the cards and always play 5 or more at a time, oh and we always play for money it gets serious.
My fav game!
When you’re a pro bc can play up to 14 cards and the way that my family plays is 50cent per person (mini is 4 cards) and you can win by having 2 lines in the same card or 1 line and the 4 corners. Sometimes we add 10 cents for those that get the box in the middle (but it’s rare)

1. There’s only one winner
Or
2. Something comes up or we’re tired, we’ll spilt it
My favorite card is el borracho
My family plays it similar to bingo but they do it fast and we have prizes
The way they play is weird to me. We would either take turns drawing the cards or have one player call them out but we would go slow and give people plenty of time to find the one called. And we'd only have one card each. Never knew people played like this. We would play for pennies tho
Yo tengo un tattoo de La Sirena 😊
Que hermosaaaa😍
La chichona!
i thought she was gonna say la mano pachona lmao
When I play I need to have two cards and have characters that are repeated on both (I feel like that my cards fill up faster that way😂😂)
Lotería was never a thing in my family...
Fiiiiirst u make the best videos ever!
Welcome to my kingdom
Bruh my family playing hella expensive it was 1$ a card for each round and it was a big family so people won like 20 bucks on one win and this folks is when you go broke
That's nuts
But you have to sing out the cards! La herramienta del borracho! La cobija de los pobres! El farol de los novios! Etc...
En mi casa mi mamá y tías jugaban con sus amigas pero cuando ganan todo siempre decimos Catita porque se las echaba ohh si quieres demostrar que eres una Valladares(apellido familiar) original tienes que saber cómo echártelas! 😂😂😂 Sike!! JK!😏 Mi tía me va matar si mira este comentario!
