I live in PA. Grew up in a coal mine town, and I was THRILLED with Copperdale being a mining town. Love the art deco arcitecture - my alma mater was built in that era. ❤ The wood shop and home ec rooms were a great idea. My high school had a dark room for Photog classes and kiln for ceramics in the lower levels, and an observatory and planetarium on the top level and roof. We also did senior class murals for every class, going back to '73 as the oldest I remember seeing. Fun fact, theres a former nuclear fall out shelter too beneath the fields. Building my own high school felt so challenging given where I graduated, but this is incredible. Homecoming dance and court wouldve been great! Omg DEB! miss deb. Such a sweet lil brother.
I was looking at all of the school builds simmers have made, and was a little disappointed that everyone was sticking to the same build style. But yours LOOKS like almost all of the high schools I've seen and made me instantly excited and nostalgic. It's not that high school was "amazing" for me (it was alright), but your build was just similar to the school I'd enjoyed the most. I love that you actually put a theatre with a full set, and I love all the club/activity rooms you added for story telling after school. Turning the auditorium lot into a gym makes sense (I've only been to one high school that heavily used the auditorium instead of the gym). I may not be buying the pack, but I would've loved to download this build.
Whenever I need a community lot, I always go to you first. You just think of so many things to fit into one lot that you can do multiple activities without having to leave- plus your builds are always gorgeous!
I can't even put into words what an amazing build this is compared to the EA build. The school they gave us is one of the worst most disappointing builds in the game just in terms of importance and failed potential. Unlike a lot of people, I actually like that high school is a minimalist experience, mainly in the game for self-engineered roleplay purposes (since the content is basically pointless anyway) but at the same time, you really do feel the absolute minimal level of effort put in this content
They should have had Simmers build the school and auditorium (like they did for the rest of the lots in the world)! No offense to the Sims team, but building may not be their strong suit 😄 Thank you so much!!!
@@RoxxySims - James Turner could have made a disheveled factory with classrooms in it... UGH. I guess one major plus side with simmers making the builds is you can bulldoze the lots of all the simmers you hate, and feel a mild sense of satisfaction from it. The extreme violence mod definitely needs a nuclear strike option... cause that's what I use to have fun with all the DUMPY premade EA sims with horrible body image. RIP Bella Goth. This is absolutely amazing! Of all the high schools that are being built right now, this has got to be my favorite. No question it’s the best. You included so many rooms for different clubs but the school feels so real. And don’t get me started on the theatre! Seriously! Amazing and beautiful. How you thought to use the shells to create that scene was genius. I want to see a let’s play or something in this school. Absolutely amazing. My favorite.

It's honestly impossible to say what I love the most about this monumental build. I'm just floored. The exterior looks majestic and imposing in a good way, like it were stating: "I am an institution of learning." You have so much variety in the roof heights and beautiful, strong "pillars" in the form of those bump-outs, so the building feels both sturdy and elegant, and the art deco details and the windows add a bit of ornamentation to it, too. Adding the tennis court and basketball court as well as the parking lot complete the look of the school, and I also love the benches under the trees in your custom planters. Schools and public places definitely have those! I also imagine it would be nice to sit in the shade of a tree during a break. On the inside, you chose the perfect combination of tiles/brick and a checkered flooring with a rather mellowed-down contrast. I think you're absolutely right: It looks very school-like and also gives the place a bit of an older, more elegant vibe, too. (We do not usually have checkered floors in German schools; I feel like that is something that belongs in train stations and older townhouses, so it immediately communicates "old" and "established.") The flow of your floorplan feels very natural, too, and again, you planned it out with gameplay in mind! Walking from one room to another absolutely takes ages in The Sims, and as far as I know, the school day does not leave that much time. Every single room you decorated looks like it is in constant use, like teachers and students add to it together, and like they've collected objects on display, created posters, put up notes ... Your very carefully curated corkboards all over the place absolutely capture the essence of each room, and you even gave the teachers' desks personality, too! One of the highlights for me is definitely the theatre. It's easy to tell you know exactly what that looks like, both the stage and the backstage area, and I can imagine all the students busy before a performance doing their make-up, adjusting their costumes, chatting excitedly, rehearsing a few lines one last time, or running back and forth looking for someone or something while the auditorium is slowly filling with people. It's that nervous excitement that flutters in your belly before you can finally step on stage and do your thing. Hearing about your own high school experiences just adds to the warm, fuzzy nostalgia this place oozes. Even though it's not your high school, I think it contains many of your memories and encapsulates the collective experience of going to school for many people looking back as an adult. From what you tell us, you had a lot of fun back then and pursued as many of your interests and plans as you possibly could. Ah, the energy of youth! (I'm suddenly feeling very old. XD) And your brother is definitely a hero! I think I would've done the same for my little brother, though I'm not sure he would've done that for me back then. Nowadays, he definitely would. I'm pretty sure you and I would've gotten along splendidly if we had gone to the same school. I always gravitated towards the more "edgy" people who loved wearing black, even if I was the complete opposite, always wearing many colours and trying to please others. I don't know what it is, maybe the courage to show you're "different." I also loved clubs at school and joined the choir, a pop and folk band, and the jazz dance, music theatre, theatre, and school newspaper clubs. Don't ask me how I fit all of this into my busy schedule; I don't think I had a life outside of school! Much love from Germany, my friend! Thank you for the nostalgia, and for sharing a few stories!

I'm your biggest fan 😄😄 Thank you for noticing all those little things! Yes, I really had a great time in high school. I had the very best teachers (which helped make my time there great and made me want to become a teacher myself). For once I wish the video was longer so I could have told more of my high school stories lol. I think we would have been friends in school too! I was friends with all the honors-classes-attending/performing/artistic kids (you seem to fit that pretty well!). I was the only one in the friend group who had that more edgy style, but it worked out great 😄 And I bet you would fit in the group wonderfully! And you joined a pop folk band?? That sounds amazing! I'm already happy knowing that you read my comments and that they bring a smile to your face. Yes, teachers do play a big part in our school experience. Good teachers can ignite a passion for a subject or topic in you and teach you about life, too, and bad teachers can completely demotivate you and severely hurt your confidence. I've had both during my school years, and both have shaped which kind of teacher I want to become. It's funny that you entertained the thought of choosing this profession, too! The band I joined was just a school club, so we only performed at school events and sometimes at a nursing home near our school, so it wasn't that special. I love singing though, and I'm fairly good at it, so I kept singing in a choir even when I was attending university. Our conductor was extremely strict and I learned loads about "singing with one voice," about finding my harmony with the other parts (there were often six or more parts), and about controlling the "colour" of my voice. It was intense, but our performances were true highlights. Are you still pursuing other arts than building and creating videos? I guess you probably don't have much time left your days. Being an adult and having to manage all aspects of your life really sucks. I said hi to Germany, and they waved back! 👋 Have a great start into the week. 😊
I just want my responses to be worthy! Your comments are so eloquent, and I need to make sure my responses are up to snuff 😉 I know at some point answering every single comment could get very hard to do, but I'll continue while I still can! I always considered being a speech and drama teacher (since it was my favorite subject). I may still go back to school one day and become one. I'm so jealous of anyone with singing abilities! I *love* music and singing, but I'm not very good at it lol. I've considered joining my local theater group, but I'll have to wait until I have more free time for that. I love interior design in real life... probably no surprise there lol. I also like cake decorating (I used to make wedding cakes until the pressure got to be too much for me 😅) and drawing/painting! This is the BEST high school build ever! You literally thought of everything that would be in a real high school and your attention to detail is impeccable! Currently saving up to buy the high school pack (or I might wait a while til it goes on sale) but mark my words, when I do buy the pack I’m definitely going to use your high school. This is my favorite high school build I've seen since the pack was released!!!! So realistic and packed with so much creativity💯 I'm in love with the theater area and lunchroom! So cool what you did. This is the best high school i've seen. Not to just reiterate what everyone else is saying but its so realistic and feels so familiar and THATS what makes it the best! It doesn't feel like a tv or movie high school this feels like the actual high school many of us attended. I can't wait for my sims to have loads of memories here

Yes! In India we have Home Science in which we do cooking only once a year for the practical exams. Rest of the time we study from the textbooks. It absolutely did not help our cooking skills but gave us a lot of extra knowledge.
Oh really? That's so interesting! We cooked quite a few times, but didn't learn very much about food/cooking from a book at all. So it seems our classes were the opposite of each other 😄😄
My favorite high school build so far!!!! As a theater kid the moment I saw that theater I was all in. Definitely getting the mod for clubs on the lot because extracurriculars was a huge part of my high school experience. With a graduating class of around 400, that really defined who you met & spent most of your time with. I'm so in love with this build!!!! Love to see your take on the auditorium lot 😍😍😍😍

Your builds are always so awesome to watch. I'm loving every one of them. I think the inspiration behind Copperdale came from a mix between schools and communities in the Rocky Mountains along with Riverdale from the Archie Comics series. Thats what I found and read about it. Keep up the good work! 🙂

THIS BUILD IS AMAZING!!! The stage is made me tear up because I love theater!!! About the clubs at high school- zerbu made a mod to have clubs at school and the ability to change where the school is located! I recommend trying it out!!

Thank you!!! I made it to where everything you need is on the main floor, so (if you need to) things in the basement level and second floor can be deleted. It's not ideal of course, but I understand it's a lot of stuff in one build 😄

We sort of had it here in the UK at least at my secondary school (I believe this classes as both middle school and the first few years high school for Americans cos we started at like 11/12 and finished like 16/17, we then went to college for 2 years which I think is equivalent of last 2 years of high school and then university or a real job etc) it definitely wasn't a very in depth class and we didn't do it past our 3rd year of school there and we just called it food tec lol also I really love this build not gonna lie after all the American themed high school TV shows from when I was a kid this is AWESOME!!!

the only thing missing here is a pool but all in all, a great build as usual! and i think about the table, the principal will only get confused if youre using that specific one for her (i forgot the name). if u use different tables on classrooms etc she wouldnt recognize it bcos then the requirement would count only as one. idk not sure cos im gonna wait for your builds before i play the pack lmao

@@RoxxySims i also think its annoying that you cant start a club gathering in school given that they only gave us 2 extra after school activities. so i would dare request a multipurpose build where theres lots of activities so i can have my teens meet there. theres a 50×40 lot. kinda huge but i think its perfect to fit almost if not all the activites in the sims 4 there. but itd be cool if too if u cant. id take any of your builds lol thanks, roxxy! ❤

Ooo re: home economics, UK schools have cooking classes (my school called it food technology) but most places you only study it until 13/14 unless you explicitly choose to do it for your exams at 16 :) not sure if the US version includes sewing etc but there's also that and woodworking classes but same rules apply as food tech

I'm pretty sure you and I would've gotten along splendidly if we had gone to the same school. I always gravitated towards the more "edgy" people who loved wearing black, even if I was the complete opposite, always wearing many colours and trying to please others. I don't know what it is, maybe the courage to show you're "different." I also loved clubs at school and joined the choir, a pop and folk band, and the jazz dance, music theatre, theatre, and school newspaper clubs. Don't ask me how I fit all of this into my busy schedule; I don't think I had a life outside of school!

I had the very best teachers (which helped make my time there great and made me want to become a teacher myself). For once I wish the video was longer so I could have told more of my high school stories lol.
I think we would have been friends in school too! I was friends with all the honors-classes-attending/performing/artistic kids (you seem to fit that pretty well!). I was the only one in the friend group who had that more edgy style, but it worked out great 😄 And I bet you would fit in the group wonderfully!

Yes, teachers do play a big part in our school experience. Good teachers can ignite a passion for a subject or topic in you and teach you about life, too, and bad teachers can completely demotivate you and severely hurt your confidence. I've had both during my school years, and both have shaped which kind of teacher I want to become. It's funny that you entertained the thought of choosing this profession, too!
The band I joined was just a school club, so we only performed at school events and sometimes at a nursing home near our school, so it wasn't that special. I love singing though, and I'm fairly good at it, so I kept singing in a choir even when I was attending university. Our conductor was extremely strict and I learned loads about "singing with one voice," about finding my harmony with the other parts (there were often six or more parts), and about controlling the "colour" of my voice. It was intense, but our performances were true highlights. Are you still pursuing other arts than building and creating videos? I guess you probably don't have much time left your days. Being an adult and having to manage all aspects of your life really sucks.

I'm so jealous of anyone with singing abilities! I *love* music and singing, but I'm not very good at it lol.
I've considered joining my local theater group, but I'll have to wait until I have more free time for that. I love interior design in real life... probably no surprise there lol. I also like cake decorating (I used to make wedding cakes until the pressure got to be too much for me 😅) and drawing/painting! So yeah, I still love to get in as much artistic things as I possibly can! But I definitely wish I had more time for them. What are your other hobbies?

This is the BEST high school build ever! You literally thought of everything that would be in a real high school and your attention to detail is impeccable! This is the best high school i've seen. Not to just reiterate what everyone else is saying but its so realistic and feels so familiar and THATS what makes it the best! It doesn't feel like a tv or movie high school this feels like the actual high school many of us attended. I can't wait for my sims to have loads of memories here

Yes! In India we have Home Science in which we do cooking only once a year for the practical exams. Rest of the time we study from the textbooks. It absolutely did not help our cooking skills but gave us a lot of extra knowledge.

My favorite high school build so far!!!! As a theater kid the moment I saw that theater I was all in. Definitely getting the mod for clubs on the lot because extracurriculars was a huge part of my high school experience. With a graduating class of around 400, that really defined who you met & spent most of your time with. I'm so in love with this build!!!! Love to see your take on the auditorium lot 😍😍😍😍

I think the inspiration behind Copperdale came from a mix between schools and communities in the Rocky Mountains along with Riverdale from the Archie Comics series. THIS BUILD IS AMAZING!!! The stage is made me tear up because I love theater!!! About the clubs at high school- zerbu made a mod to have clubs at school and the ability to change where the school is located! I recommend trying it out!!

I made it to where everything you need is on the main floor, so (if you need to) things in the basement level and second floor can be deleted. It's not ideal of course, but I understand it's a lot of stuff in one build 😄

We sort of had it here in the UK at least at my secondary school (I believe this classes as both middle school and the first few years high school for Americans cos we started at like 11/12 and finished like 16/17, we then went to college for 2 years which I think is equivalent of last 2 years of high school and then university or a real job etc) it definitely wasn't a very in depth class and we didn't do it past our 3rd year of school there and we just called it food tec lol also I really love this build not gonna lie after all the American themed high school TV shows from when I was a kid this is AWESOME!!!

the only thing missing here is a pool but all in all, a great build as usual! and i think about the table, the principal will only get confused if youre using that specific one for her (i forgot the name). if u use different tables on classrooms etc she wouldnt recognize it bcos then the requirement would count only as one. idk not sure cos im gonna wait for your builds before i play the pack lmao

@@RoxxySims i also think its annoying that you cant start a club gathering in school given that they only gave us 2 extra after school activities. so i would dare request a multipurpose build where theres lots of activities so i can have my teens meet there. theres a 50×40 lot. kinda huge but i think its perfect to fit almost if not all the activites in the sims 4 there. but itd be cool if too if u cant. id take any of your builds lol thanks, roxxy! ❤

Ooo re: home economics, UK schools have cooking classes (my school called it food technology) but most places you only study it until 13/14 unless you explicitly choose to do it for your exams at 16 :) not sure if the US version includes sewing etc but there's also that and woodworking classes but same rules apply as food tech

Oh, that's so interesting! Here in the U.S. we can take it any year of high school, so from the ages of 14-18. My school didn't have it at all in middle school (ages 11-14), but my school didn't have lots of things. So maybe other schools do 😄
