Roger Taylor That’s a really good idea. Okay everyone, of you want to see follow-ups to this video like Roger‘s comment. I’ll be the first to do that. :) //cheers, Kris
I think with how HB guitars are priced - There is very little reason why you shouldnt consider getting one as its a guitar that you can grow into, Its of a decent quality meaning it will last last many many years and decades if looked after and you can always swap out the pickups to ones that have a more heat if you want that guitar to grow with you. Ive heard even switching out the bridge on some of the HB guitars adds more sustain and tones. My first guitar was a 90s pacifica 312. I refused to sell it on multiple occasions for sentimental reasons.
Great time to be a guitar player for the gear available. Nice straight forward info Kris and I agree with your ideas. I think they are fun to play beginner or not. Be well!
Steven Shipman Thanks Steve! It’s great to have all these options. It can be a little overwhelming for absolute beginners though. We hope this video will be useful for some of them. //cheers, Kris
Kudos for the straightforward tips. I would go a bit further and advise about bridges (I would totally recommend fixed bridge for beginners) and fretboard radius (I would recommend a flatter fretboard, around 12", instead of Fender standard 9.5"). In the overall I would say: keep it simple and choose a middle term regarding construction and tone. After a while playing you can choose guitars with more character, like a tele or a flying v.
My first guitar was from Sears. when I took it and have it set up the guy in the guitar shop said “ this is a toy if you really wanna play guitar spend a little bit more. I got a Squire Strat with a humbucker . After that I got the Jackson Rhoads Pro with a Floyd Rose 🤘🏽. I’d say stick with a fixed bridge to start outside of that get what makes you happy,It takes a while to find out what kind of guitar actually suits your playing 🤘🏽
totally agree poo ninja: my first electric guitar was a 200€ Ibanez with a whammy bar that was set up poorly and went out of tune all the time. I had no idea on how to fix it, so it landed somewhere in the corner and chose to stay with acoustic. I sold the guitar years later. A bad first impression on electric guitars I would rather have avoided. For me its three main points: keep it simple, choose for the beginning a fixed bridge and get a good setup as Kris from Thomann said.
Careful Kris, I’m like Loki I’ll lead you on just far enough then... Muhahaha Just start with a Pia and reverse engineer your way back to building your own hyper performance Axe 🤘🏽
Hi Kris... Interesting you featured the CST24 emerald green. If I buy one; can I ask you guys to put on my strings of choice AND set it up, say, to a standard D tuning? If so; what's rhe aproximate cost? Thanks
Hallo ahmed is mei name. ich habbe harley telecaster gekauft dann habe ich tuning gemacht bei kollege in keller weisstdu? dann habe ich ampli eingeschaltet.ganze strasse dunkel... warum?
My first electric guitar was a made in Mexico Fender Strat that I returned immediately because it was a piece of junk. My best first guitar was a Squier Classic Vibe ‘50’s Telecaster that I converted with a Gibson-Scale neck, & I’ll never go back to a Strat ever again. Tele’s kick Ass!
Thanks, that was useful - but are you going to make a follow-up with advice on Amps and pedals, because that's where I really need help?

Are you the *REAL* Roger Taylor?? Like the Roger Taylor from the band Queen??
@@Rose.Of.Hizaki I think he'd just ask Brian about amps and pedals of he was.
@@Rose.Of.Hizaki Yeah, what Danny said :-) I am a real Roger Taylor, just not the Queen drummer - sadly
