Just getting into this made a simple heart .just loved it .I though it was a little easy I like more of a challenge Than I came across your post and well this is more like I want combination. Can't wait for some patterns
THANK YOU!!! I've watched a blue billion tutorials and yours is the only one I REALLY understand. You are an excellent teacher and for that, you've gained a new follower. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this video tutorial. 😁
You are so welcome! I made this because it was so hard to find a good tutorial! I meant to do more and got into crocheting 😂 but I will do a few more tutorials soon now that I have a better setup! Enjoy making book art!
You can purchase patterns from Etsy for a minimal price, sometimes you can find some just by googling it, there are also Facebook groups. I don’t sell patterns as I’m not a pattern maker.
I found someone that makes patterns on one of the book folding Facebook pages. This is quite advanced for your first book. I started out just folding by purchasing books that already had the lines in it to fold. I bought them at Hastings years ago but I’m sure there might be some you can purchase on Amazon. Or look for MMF (measure, mark, fold) patterns
Thank you thank you! I’m attempting to make a gift and was feeling overwhelmed until I found your video! Your voice is so calming and instructions clear and understandable!
Holy crap this is actually a really good tutorial, but what is that thing you put on the ruler? Photo foam? I've always needed something like that to make my marks straight for origami and stuff like that. Thank you if you respond
Crangado sorry for the long response time- the email that I had a comment was in my junk folder. Any way, that is exactly what I used and since it is double sided I put washi tape over the foam.
Lam's BRB I don’t personally own this pattern because I didn’t make the pattern. You can purchase patterns on Etsy or sometimes you can get free patterns from bookfolding groups on Facebook.
Hey creative chickie, I want 7 letters Name in the book , how to do that? As the letters are different and definitely the measurement will ! Can you help me out!
I would suggest to find a pattern maker and let them know what you want. There are many on Etsy. Or you can purchase a pattern maker for your computer and make any pattern you want. I unfortunately do not do that or I would do so for you.
Most of the ones I have I got from Facebook groups and they many times have free patterns. There are other groups where you can be a tester and get some patterns that way.
Finally!! A complete understandable demo and explanation of cut and fold. Have a pattern with no instructions on how. Got to page 14 and ..... now what!! Thank you thank you!! You made my day. God bless you too.
You are very welcome! I do plan on doing a couple more videos because it can be difficult without seeing it done. I’m just happy to be able to help others do this.
The one pictured was probably one of the fastest ones I’ve done but they do take many hours over several days. I really need to time it out on the next book I do.
Creative Chickie I’m a newbie and a little confused , my pattern shows folds at 3 ,4.1, 4 .5, 4.9, 5.3, 6.8, 7.2, 7.7! It’s my understanding that I make top fold at 3 and bottom fold at 7.7 and all the numbers in between are cut.... am I correct as in make a cut at 4.1 and 4.5 then fold, another at 4.9 and 4.3 and fold! Do I leave the tab stick out between 4.5 and 4.9......??
Ralph Dove yes you do fold the first and last and cut all others in between. So you would fold the tab between 4.1 and 4.5 and leave the next tab out, and every other tab will be folded
Great explanation. I was stuck on a particular book and your explanation was right on. Thank you.
bachan wright I'm happy this helped!
Thank you. This was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!

How do I get this pattern
You can join Facebook groups dedicated to bookfolding and many of them have free patterns.
How do you create the pattern ??? for any letter or word ??
I found the pattern. You can buy patterns from ETSY or find a facebook group for bookfolding and sometimes you can get free patterns that way.
Thanks, I love the way the pattern sticks out of the book.❤️
Thank you
can I get your site for the pattern? I would like to attempt this

Where can I find this pattern. I had bought it years ago but have misplaced it. Is there a free pattern for this. Thank you. Great video
I believe I got it from one of the Facebook groups but I’m not sure who was the creator.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I'm excited to learn a new technique.
Shan F you are very welcome! I promise more videos are coming soon. Hopefully by next week!
Where did you get the sister pattern? I haven’t tried it yet but it looks interesting to do, is it too advanced for my first try at book folding?

Sometimes the pattern will tell you. Most times it’s just according to your preference.
