So glad y’all enjoyed your time in GA! It’s a little selfish of me but I almost love that not many people know how beautiful North GA is, and all the waterfalls! I’m a huge nature girl and love being within minutes to a small drive to some of the most stunning scenery and hiking areas. Granted, we don’t have a Yosemite or Yellowstone, it’s a very sweet and soothing kind of nature here. Lots and lots of waterfalls! ❤️❤️
As a native Georgian who visited Helen nearly weekly growing up not only reading these comments but watching yalls reactions were adorable. The mountain coaster is new though, and I am jealous. My favorite memory of Helen was getting to watch the solar eclipse that happened a couple years back in the river, we just clambered over onto a couple of rocks and had such a good view. Also, if you go through central Texas again I haven’t explored many cities but Llano is super cute and has a delightful Italian restaurant.
Helen was so awesome! Especially that coaster, we hope you can try it sometime! Brought us SO much joy! That sounds amazing about the solar eclipse 🤩And we drive through Llano almost every time we drive to and from Austin, but have never really stopped. It looks super cute, so we will have to change that!
I grew up in Marietta (suburb of Atlanta) and my family used to visit Helen all the time. My parents even hosted a family reunion here. My favorite things to do - other than walking around the town - are hiking up to visit Anna Ruby Falls (you should see it in Autumn), and breakfasts at the Unicoi Park lodge. Thanks for the memories.☺️
North Georgia is seriously the most surprising! We also were so impressed with the many options. We have not done the hurricane yet so this was fun to explore with you. ♡
Watching your videos since the Hiawatha Trail, and just found this one. Good thing you're young and so active. At 73 years of age, that brick of fudge would double in size in my stomach, expand my girth by that much, and never get smaller!!!! Keep havin' fun guys, and stay safe.
I live in the county where the AT starts (Fannin). I have many friends from out of town/state that are always so surprised when visiting that Georgia is as pretty and diverse as she it, especially N. Georgia.
So glad y’all got to experience north Georgia! I went to school near Helen and there are definitely tons of hidden gems up in those mountains, my favorite being Blood Mountain. Love y’all’s content!
Helen did remind me of Leavenworth and they decided to reinvent in the 60's also! How weird! Cute town and we really need to check out Georgia. Love the hikes! Beautiful waterfalls!
I love that you are going to unique and different places. I also like that it is a possibility to go there one day! I am telling my hubby to put it on our list of places to go! Thank You
We’re so glad you can appreciate the lesser known spots! The big cities and popular places are fun to visit, but we get so excited when we can share a spot that isn’t as well known, especially if it’s in the US and easier to visit! 🥰
Loved the video. Y'all are wonderful. As a Georgian, there are so many hidden gems in the smaller cities and towns. Yes, visit Atlanta and, of course, Savannah is a must. Take time to explore the other treasures like the Antebellum Trail (Macon, Athens, Madison...)and, always the Okefenokee. So many more...Georgia is very diverse.
I did the Tallulah Falls hike yesterday and had so much fun. The views from the bottom and the overlooks were amazing!!! The weather was perfect...mid 60s. I'm going to do Helen next!! Great video!!!😁
What a fun video. I smiled all the way through the video. I haven't been to Helen yet but it's been on my radar for a while. Now it's on my "bucket list" and hopefully soon it will be a wonderfully fond memory. Thanks for sharing.
If you ever go back to North Georgia, you should explore the Ellijay/Blue Ridge area. Blue Ridge, Georgia is a truly beautiful hallmark photo of a small town, directly next to Cohutta Wilderness Area. Cohutta is the largest continuous wilderness area in the Southeast. Then you hit the state line into Tennessee, "Cohutta" becomes "Big Frog Wilderness" but it's all one wilderness zone across two names/state lines. Anyway, that area has so many cascading streams and bubbling creeks and waterfalls. It's stunning in May.
That looks like such a cool place!! Had no idea it existed (but now I do thanks to you two). Who would’ve thought in GA?! And our family LOVES alpine coasters. We seek them out every vacation. What a rush! Handles FULL FWD the whole way baby! So much fun.
@@AdventuresofAplusK the one going down the side of Iron Mountain at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park (Glenwood Springs,CO) is my fave. Do you have a fave?
Helen has successfully promoted itself and is justifiably famous, but there are many other beautiful hiking areas in North Georgia and Tennessee. In North Georgia is Cloudland Canyon, and north of Chattanooga with its Lookout Mountain battlefields, is Monteagle which boasts the South Cumberland State Park, and near Crossville is the tallest waterfall East of the Mississippi, Fall Creek Falls. All Tennessee state parks are FREE!.
We had never heard of it either! And now we’re wondering why we hadn’t explored this area before! We can’t wait to share the next one 😄 Lots of good food!
Nice video thanks for sharing. I have never been to any of those places however I did visit High Falls this year. It's just south of metro Atlanta right off I-75.
Thanks for your video, we are headed to the area soon, staying in Clarksville. Going to check out the falls and Helen. I found your channel searching youtube. Looking forward to checking out some of your other videos.
Awww, one of my favorite little towns in the US!! I haven't been in a while, never did the alpine coast, but it looks so fun! I can't wait for the next video. Go back in October, its crazy!
I think it’s pretty new! Y’all will have to go and try it out. It’s addicting!!! 🙌🏼🎢 October would be so fun! And we hear they have tubing in the summer which also sounds like a blast! And we think y’all will love the next video. Lots of good food! 😋
Cloudland Canyon & Amicololca state parks are awesome places w/ hiking trails ( and yes lots of steps lol)and phenomenal waterfalls. Anna Ruby water falls is one of my favorite in North Ga. I am currently looking into High falls(state park in ga is nice) & desoto falls in Ala. I have gone to Little River canyon in north al and my girls absolutely loved it. so much to see and do. I have always wanted to hike the sliding rock trail. and panther falls....one day ...one day ..
Sliding Rock Trail the one where you have to get the permit this probably the best trail in Georgia as far difficulty goes I did it last year with my wife got an awesome video doing it. At one point I thought I was going to go over into that big waterfall it was pretty scary lol If you like that Alpine Coaster you should definitely try the one in Gatlinburg Tennessee. Being from Georgia my whole life Helen is easily my favorite City have lots of great memories there. And there's so much to do and all the surrounding areas. North Georgia is mostly where my channel is based out of. Sorry for the long comment just really cool seeing some of my favorite UA-camrs in a place I love so much. Thanks for sharing!

It was a fun half day with lots of eating 😋 We definitely need to go back to explore there more. We were very surprised by Atlanta (in a good way)! We will also hopefully have lots of other vlogs to help you out soon! Your road trip sounds very similar to our destinations the next few months!
Glad to see you guys in the Southeast. If you love outdoor activities you may want to check the Red River Gorge Geological Area in Kentucky. Some great trails with Arches, Sandstone cliffs and overlooks. You can do rock climbing, a zipline, and a kayak trip underground through a former limestone mine.
I want to go on that alpine coaster! 🙌 ! It actually looks somewhat similar to the one in Big Bear, CA but instead its a slide and you still have the same controls of going fast or slower. 😊! -They did offer all day passes the times I went... but its now been years since I've gone... sooo maybe they still offer it.. or maybe not 😛. Such a fun day 😊!
Loved this adventure with you two! Helen is amazing. I love being an hour away. They have tubing, go-karts, mini-golf, ziplines, kayaking and more. Definitely one of the best places to go during summer vacation aside from Six Flags.
It's strange to see a video about Helen that doesn't feature the river. Granted, you were there in the wintertime but during the summer, the river has hundreds of tubers floating through town and a couple of water parks open. Great video though, you guys are fun. I've been going to Helen my whole life and headed there again next week...
I rode that coaster back in January - super fun! If you’re ever in Helen again, check out the Yonah Mtn trail - really a great (challenging but beautiful) hike maybe 5 minutes from Helen

I want to make it to the Great Smoky Mountains for the fall foliage (I'm a teacher and our school holiday's don't quite align with New England's peak time, but I believe they do for the peak time further south) A quick google map search tells me Helen isn't too far, and throw in an extended Octoberfest... yes!!
That would be amazing!!! We still have yet to make it to Great Smoky Mountains (we had planned to this year-we’ll see!) and I bet they’d be amazing in the fall. Same with Helen’s Octoberfest! It’s such a cute little town!
Gah, foiled again. Just finished a weekend camping trip with my middle child this past weekend in Northern Georgia, camped at Tallulah Gorge. I really wanted to hike the bottom of the gorge, so I carefully planned this trip around the scheduled dam water releases (pun intended). They do not issue permits when they do aesthetic releases or releases for whitewater rafting weekends. Well this past weekend was supposed to be free and clear. Welp, of course not. The power company performed unplanned maintenance, so no gorge permits all weekend. My son and I were pretty bummed. However, it did give us a chance to pivot and go waterfall chasing instead. We went to Toccoa, Anna Ruby, Minnehaha, Desoto, and Amicalola Falls. All of them were awesome and required minimal effort. These aren’t tiny 50’ falls either. Amicalola Falls is 729’. We really enjoyed our time here and it really surprised me as an outdoor destination. I don’t know why but I don’t think of Georgia as a state with this type terrain and beauty. Great job on this video and highlighting a lesser known area. It’s off the beaten path but a worthy stop. I did try to get my son to do the alpine coaster. It was a very firm no. I am going to get a second shot here next weekend, though. The whole family is going to the Roan Highlands in TN/NC and there is an alpine coaster in Banner Elk, NC. I know my wife and oldest would do the coaster. We shall see!
Aw man, that’s a bummer! But there are thankfully soooo many waterfalls to explore around there. We agree that we didn’t think of Georgia of having this type of scenery…it blew us away! I cannot believe your son didn’t want to go on the coaster! It brought us SO MUCH JOY! Haha
OMGOSH...all that beauty not to mention how yummy that fudge looked! I knew you would eat it almost immediately! 🐷JK 😂 I would have eaten little bits at a time until it was ALL GONE because you know there’s no calories when you eat something yummy that way! 🤪 Seriously, this was an awesome vlog and I loved your excitement on the coaster! And, you know how much I love a cute little town! Great job! 💕

Great job! 💕
Lol! We really thought it would take us days to eat that, but we are pigs and devoured it in hours 😂😂
Oink oink oink! 😂🤣😂🤣
I live in Atlanta! Waterfall chaser! Lol They are all over 🎉. Love the video
Thanks, Racheal!
I love your videos! I've learned so much and learned of so many new places. You guys are so cute together. Keep up the good work and I wish you well on your future journeys!
We're glad to hear that! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Good job guys. I live here. All my life.
What a cool place to live!
Thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching! 😄
The permit for tallulah gorge is SO WORTH IT!!!!!
Cloudland canyon is probably my favorite Georgia state park, but I have stayed at Unicoi state park by Helen, the squirrels nest is a super fun camp spot. And I love the tullulah gorge too
Cloudland Canyon looks amazing! We will have to check it out!
@@AdventuresofAplusK yes you should for sure sittons gulch hike is worth it and the waterfalls and west rim hikes are amazing. Sittons gulch is a day hike and you can do the other two in a day also and take your time they’re shorter
@@AdventuresofAplusK also it’s fun in the winter bc no one is there, but spring is when the falls have water flowing more it’s beautiful I’ll keep an eye out for it when y’all go 😊
Just found your channel. You two are awesome!

You totally need to check out Frankenmuth, Michigan for cute bavarian towns :)
It’s on the list! Excited to see it!
I live here and haven’t even seen Helen... subbing!!👍🏽
Helen is such a cute town! We hope you can make it there!
If you get a chance to revisit Tallulah Gorge and get the permit, it is well worth it. I went last July and had the time of my life. It is super challenging and you will definitely get wet. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Just subbed.
We definitely will have to! Can’t even imagine how beautiful that area is in the summer. We’d love to go back! 🙌🏼😍
Adventures of A plus K there is a video on my page of the hike to the gorge floor and waterfall/sliding rock trail in case you are interested. Keep producing your videos. They are great!
Omg! I need to visit this part of Georgia!!
Dude it’s really neat out there!
I went to college in Clarkesville. I have a beautiful black and white picture of Anna ruby falls.
That’s so awesome Matt! I wish there was a way to attach photos here so we could see it!

Woo! It's a cool town!
We are an older but active couple. We drive from Chicago to Florida every winter. 75 S before Atlanta is a good point for us to break. We are looking for places close to 75S with hikes/walks that are interesting. Pl suggest.
I love your video ❣️
Thank you Nadia, we are so happy to hear that!
Know it's kind of goofy to comment on a 3 year old video but I really enjoyed it. Well done and thanks!
Thanks and thanks for watching, Bill!
In Michigan we have Frankenmuth! Our own Bavarian town!
We will have to add that to our list! Sounds awesome!!!
You guys are simply awesome
We appreciate the love!
@@AdventuresofAplusK We are going there next week because of you two. You made it look like so much fun we really didn't have a choice lol.

They finally got rid of the awful smell of the paper mills and other smelly industries
If y'all need a spot to just relax and go fishing and go hiking try lake ganger near Austin Texas and if you want a challenge try catching gator gar if y'all like going fishing
Thanks Ethen! We haven’t been there 😊
@@AdventuresofAplusK if y'all the best post for the gator gar is at the dam and good luck
Go fishing
Spot so. Not post

Hi there. I will visit helem this month. How is the weather on this date?
Hi! We aren’t totally sure, since weather can vary a lot, but we’d recommend checking the weather forecast before you go or looking at historical weather data for a better idea.
@@AdventuresofAplusK thanks. I do it
I hiked the gorge went I was a kid, I remember lol
Awesome!
Where did u guys stayed at?? I need some info where to stay at. Thanks in advance
Its been several years so we don’t remember. We use sites like iOverlander and Campendium to help us find places to stay while on the road. Good luck!
What month was this?! We’re going in late November with our 2 year old and I’m worried it will be too cold to be outside for him :/
This was in January. It was pretty cold. I'd definitely recommend checking the weather and packing accordingly!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
🥰🥰🥰
What a cool town! Added it on my "want to go" list on Google if we're ever in the area.
Helen was a lot of fun!
There's one similar to this one in Tennessee
It looks cool!
Can you crash on that ride if you don't use the brakes at all?
I am pretty sure there are things in place to ensure that you won’t crash!
Wayyyy better!
Lmao @ 7:11.
It was almost a disaster!!! 😱🍫
