Yes he definitely should not have overtaken there but was there an emergency? Also, as was commented by another viewer, you were driving well below the speed limit for the majority of the video and this can be an issue if other road users are in a hurry.
Problem being is, you also were doing under the speed limit in this entire video..., ranging from 5-15km/ph under, even in the 80km zone near the speed camera, light was green for a while and still took you ages to even get to 80km. It isn't that hard to do the speed limit. Understood if your car struggles uphill, but you were going downhill, shouldn't of been that hard to get to 80km
@DashcamsTasmania taxi driver was still definitely in the wrong!, forgot to state that, which is my bad, but at the end of the day too, they both did wrong, people don't like people who drive 15km under the limit, but no one likes a taxi driver like that either
@@connorgrimwood2348 driving under the speed limit is not an offence, unless significantly low, eg doing 20 in an 80 zone, as is detailed in the road rules (and for no apparent reason). Then you can be charged with obstructing others.
@@DashcamsTasmania never said it wasn't illegal, but it's highly annoying, especially if you can't overtake legally for ages. It's becoming a common thing around Tasmania.

Even in the 50km zone, you were ranging from 40km/ph - 49km/ph, on that whole entire 50km/ph strip.....
so you are blaming the DC driver for the actions of the idiot in the taxi. WOW. Guess you drive a taxi for a living, eh!
