Yes I have looked at Calpe before they looked a little short but I guess it’s just the pictures on the website. I might invest in some officer and command packs. Always after officers as I like 2 in my command groups. They are beautiful figures for sure. And your paint job is cracking on them.
Thank you for the comment, I do enjoy Calpe figures but they are different. I think it's when you get down to painting them that their qualities come out most.
Ah, I knew I had read that somewhere. I do enjoy this period but as you may be able to see from some of my rank insignia etc, I'm not that precise on some of the details and it includes details like this one. Glad you enjoyed the painting and the comment :)
Im withe the old wargamer i need to buy some youve done some excellent work, the figures look so much better sculpt wise than perry or warlord, just shared your video on the Napoleonic wargamer facebook group
Hey Bud me again; why 32 Man Battalions for Light Infantry and not 36??? I only ask because i havent as yet bought any Light; and i definitely need to. I would love to buy Calpe, but they only cater for Bardin post 1812. Im trying to build a Grande Armee Russia 1812. Calpe are just a little too late.
how do you change the heads on the miniatures that come with heads already? The Perry Miniatures French Infantry all have heads already, but the box contains loads of extra heads! thank you!!
They look great,is that a Sepia wash you have used on the figures.I have just tried a wash for the first time and it really does make a difference. Thanks for sharing.mark
Hi I’ve recently resurrected this hobby and I’ve bought some of these Calpe french. What paints ( and colours) did you use for the greatcoats. Brilliant work by the way.
Wow
Really nice figures mate, great poses. You have really presented Calpe miniatures in a positive way. That's a brigade to be proud of
Very kind, but if a slow burner this one as it took some time. Calle figs really are the dogs 👍
CALPE ISTHE BEST SIZE FIGURES FOR NAPS 28MM .....WELL Done on contrasted paint job is one of the best i have ever seen ....
Far too much praise. I'll take it though :)
Watched the video loved the calpe french, went straight on line and bought 2x24 man Battalions,
very nice work

Nice painting. Seniority is always right of the line - thus Grenadiers are always on the right.

Wow thanks for doing that, I think you just exceeded my expectations for this video :)
Nice fig's
I have a Minifigs 25mm Prussian, think i will have to dig them out and give them a repaint , (last used in the late 80's)
Your accent sounds close to Geordie-land ,
Teeside bud, a million miles away from the Geordies (30) miles actually :)
@@PtolemyTheNorthernChap Wallsend here , :-) .
amazing work well above my ability very impressive
Thanks very much. I still need more 👍
Beautiful miniatures they look awesome
These took quite some time. Need one more battalion to become a brigade.
Fantastic figures mate
Cheers, watching your vids was part of the inspiration to keep hacking at them :)
Impressive job on them, well done!
Thanks Phil, they take a while to get finished, but then you have your own grand collection which is also rather impressive.
great video.
Happy new year bud. Thanks :)

See my last response Stewart. Love Calpe by the way. great chunky easy to paint and look great. Good luck with the Grand Armee :)

I snip them off with plastic cutters or a scalpel. It’s a pain but worth it if you can be bothered
ITS The bayonets taller looking so realism .....CALPE RULES
Super
What size bases for 6 figure bases? Are they 45 x 40? Thank you. Lovely painting.
Yes they are!

Hi Mark, yes it is that sort of thing. I used army painter soft tone I believe. Not the varnish, but the acrylic stuff. Glad you liked it :)
I love massed infantry.
We do to, I’m about to upload a vid on a battle using General d Armee rules. Take a look
I might have missed it during the video (having a toddler will do that lol), but what size bases are you using?
It think they are 15 mm per gig wide and 10 deep

The paint was a mixture of soft tone wash and British uniform I think. Thanks for the comment 👍
I'm going to have t invest in some Calpe figures then...
It will be good to see how they turn out for you. I hope you find them as easy to paint as I did.
