The reason the pharmaceutical companies can get away with pricing medicine so much is because medicine is different than other products. The only people that buy the medicine are people that NEED it. The point of capitalism is competition. Rival companies have to compete with each other to make a better product Competition keeps prices low and stops monopolies which would lead to companies having the power to price their products as they please.

Socialism is when the means of production is owned collectively. It has nothing to do with social programs. In the U.S. social programs are funded by capitalism, where the means of production is owned privately by small business and corporations. This funding of social programs is done through taxation of these industries. Taxation has nothing to do with socialism. It is a means of returning income for the privilege of using resources provided by the land and people. Collectivism fails because it has no way to determine the supply and demand of the individual consumer's wants and needs. Socialism is an economic philosophy term based on collectivism, where a few determine the needs and wants of many...which the few are incapable of doing. It is a form of economic extremism. Capitalism has tremendous capacity to fund charities, foundations, grants, and many other contributions beyond government social programs, which it also funds. Socialism does away with this and turns to rationing based on a superficial formula for determining both contribution and distribution. This extreme attempt to control a mass population always leads to war...and no, Northern Europe does not have socialism. The means of production is primarily privatized. That is how they get the taxes to pay for expensive social programs.

If they can give bailouts to giant corps....Then they can to the people. Second... I also believe that healthcare is TERRIBLE in our country. I make a nice sum of money, but I still can't afford to cover more then a few people in my family.... I havent had health insurance for YEARS... For one ...Because I have pre-existing conditions. (Not major, infact trivial) but it shoots my rates THROUGH THE ROOF.... I have gotten luck and have met Drs that will give me discounted rates to see them because I don't have insurance. However... I would probably just have to lay down and die if I ever got something major.... I once had poisoning from a plant.... and someone was like... "You need to call 911" and I remember telling them "I can't afford a bill like that right now." ....There are poor countries that have better healthcare. Third... I believe in a lot of what Bernie says... I think he is very genuine.... Something about his body language that gives me trust for his words.... I could go on?

Capitalism has tremendous capacity to fund charities, foundations, grants, and many other contributions beyond government social programs, which it also funds. Socialism does away with this and turns to rationing based on a superficial formula for determining both contribution and distribution. This extreme attempt to control a mass population always leads to war...and no, Northern Europe does not have socialism. The means of production is primarily privatized. That is how they get the taxes to pay for expensive social programs.

I had a 1k bill from a education loan (What was left over.) Turn into a 5k bill in a matter of 3 years... Just kept adding to the interest... People are not coming out of education and making what they put into that education anymore. Its time they stopped and gave debt forgiveness for us plebs who are the pillars they stand on.

I have gotten luck and have met Drs that will give me discounted rates to see them because I don't have insurance. However... I would probably just have to lay down and die if I ever got something major....
