Still didn't get him
Bill Murray 😂😂
Better that than what happened when Boyd brought a cellphone to the demolition expert’s demonstration. There was a pink mist involved.
"Corporal!"
"Yes Sir!?"
"See that ridge line over there? I don't want to see it anymore."
.... *THEY COULDNT HAVE MADE ONE MORE DAMN HOLE???*
Insurance purposes. FR
OCDcels on suicide watch! lol
It was left out for you.
if they made one more hole the earth woulda explode. you should be grateful they did the exact right amount
They got 3,899 wholes but your mom ain't one.
My brother works there and was involved. Bowen basin is here in north queensland australia. I dont know anything about the explosives etc though.
Thank you for telling us where this. It is much more interesting to know what part of the world I'm seeing. I'm in northern Minnesota USA, where they mine for iron.😊
Thank you!
Thank you for telling us the location of the mine. The dummy who put up the short, failed to let us know !. Mr JR/UK
@@sararedfearn4691
He told you exactly where it was.
Caval ridge mine, bowen basin.
That's more than enough info to Google.
@@k.r.o.369 dnyno noble is also here in australia
WOW, lot of loose dirt created there.
Much easier to move
Did you think they got all that material for your butt plug out of thin air?
The coal mine is very very close to a town called Moranbah. The town gets regular vibrations from the coal mines that all surround the town now. I can just imagine how much the houses shock when they let that off.
Imagine if the dirt underneath a building was loosened
@@danauburn1119 I grew up in Moranbah in the 1980's.. Our house was a high set house. One day they let a charge off at a coal mine called Peak Downs and the ceiling of our house ended up with a crack that went from one end of the house all the way to the other end.
If that hadn't detonated... who's the guy who has to go find out what went wrong?
Hes a guy like me Known as a shot firer or shot firers assistant, you basically check the connections where is tells you and fix it then try again. Its not like the movies where everythings gunna instantly turn you into pink mist. and also this kind of blast (the bulk agent used to move the earth) is considered slow moving compared to something fast moving like c4. I mean still fast you couldnt outrun it, but the aim here is to lift and fluff the rock not blow it to the moon. so it can be scooped up easy.
Probably an EOD veteran... 😅 Those guys have balls the size of mountains.
BHP pays zero tax in Australia
You just have to remember to keep the transmitter away from the guy wearing slippers, giggling nobody knows.
And the islamic terrorists. They love our commercial grade remote explosives bless up on that capitalism amirite
I feel like wireless explosives is a fuckin horrible idea lol, couldn't someone easily send out the same signal using the same device or a separate one that can replicate it? Idk it's probably more complicated than my layman brain can handle but just seems like a super easy way to kill a bunch of workers n no one can know it's you
@@Kratos-eg7ezthat's an interesting question for real, I've never thought about someone being able to replicate the same signal or frequency ECT to detonate the explosives.. That would be really bad if some a** hole got their hands on tht kind of tech..
@@Kratos-eg7ezthe very last step of setting up an explosive shot is to ready the receiver. By that point the least amount of people are property are in danger and the shot will soon be ready for detonation. Many safety measures are taken so no accidental or premature detonations happen.
@@AhyumI wonder if a strong EMP could set it off given how much wire is layed out
Recluse is close in a different way, but an infestation is an infestation
Wi-Fi and bombs in the same sentence is terrifying no matter what
A groundhog's worst nightmare!
Why you show a clip in the snow, there’s no snow in the Bowen Basin, and there’s never going to be any snow in the Bowen Basin.
"wireless detonation" let that sink in...
I live near a dyno nobel testing facility, and they like to rattle the neighbor hood every so often..lol
Seeing the earth just rise is so satisfying
You so racist
At the same time I thought poor earth 😢
Me on the toilet be like
The earth getting smaller in size . That's the reality of it
@@briankiely4951HAH bro do you even know how thick the crust is? Don't think the earth shrinking is one of our current environmental problems lol
Mines make our world look so beautiful like solar and wind farms.
Where do you think the metals and materials come from to make the wind mills, solar panels.
Green energy is not so green. Climate change is the only disaster that can be fixed by taxes. Apparently 😅
wireless detonation sounds like a bad idea to me. I mean a weird sun flare could set it off. A person with a radio frequency jammer maybe too.
Not wireless. Each blast cap has a special electronic sensor that indicates its fired. Played with this stuff in the 1990's with various Queensland coal mines. It basically eliminates the problem of misfired holes when you are digging up the shot material
Wireless detonation 😳imagine if someone hacked into that while the explosive was being laid 💀💀💀💀💀
That... doesn't really make much sense time frame wise... That would be like you in the morning before work starting to get dressed in your shoes before your pants...
Not only that they dont connect to the internet it’s a specific frequency that would carry a signal and the receiver is searching for that specific command 😂 to think they’d just fckn be like ok now hurry before anybody airdrops the mines the green light
@@jay0546 still, it should be encrypted, if it isn't
@@BogdanTestsSoftwareEncryption doesn't prevent it being hacked.
Encryption is about protecting the data from being accessed by those people that should not have access to it.
If the detonation command that is sent is the same binary pattern of bits each time, even if encrypted, then the system can be subjected to a replay attack where the signal is sniffed from the air by a radio receiver, replayed at a later date.
Other mechanisms in addition to encryption such as digital certificates are required.
Don't hook up the detonator mechanism till the site is cleared. Problem solved.
Watching the actual blast is cool af
I used to survey prior and after these blasts. They are a prick to work on.
When the boss tells you you'll get the weekend off when you finish blowing up the ridge and you got plans with the boys.
Boss: 👁 👁
👄
I wished the blasts were simultaneous rather than sequential. Even demolition blasts are disappointing because they’re not simultaneous.
It would jam...
It hss to be that way, they dont want to throw rock everywhere, just essentially break it up into crumbs and move it a desired way in this case just heave it up so it can be dug out easier.
Delays in each shothole are measured in milliseconds. Gives time for each hole to reach maximum effect before the next on goes off. Otherwise you would just get a big solid mess with lots of aerial shrapnel shooting out each hole.
Me when I build a gigantic TNT plate underground out of shear boredom.
Bowens basin, located in New South Wales, Australia. Thanks for treating us like we all know the mining industry!
LOL it’s west of Mackay near a town called Moranbah. It’s one of BHP or BMA biggest mines.
New South Wales???? Get it right sunshine.
how do you know all the charges went off, isn't that unsafe if some didn't?
Thanks for funding the Nobel prices (historically) blast away!!!
How many weeks to drill and place?
I think, around 1 week job
@@InGodWeTrust3_16 allot of work for a quick explosion. Thank you for answering I wondered how long that really took for at up.
@@richardnott9587 if there are a lot of people, then it can be faster
It's cool you're one week of work provides them years of work
I think all the work here was much longer, calculating data, drilling, planting explosives and detonation, difficult to say the exact time. Can be 1 months (long time)
Wonder what the aftershock tremor or earth quake was like following that
Its actually a slow heave not designed to send tremendous shocks, the type of explosive is designed by engineers and shot firers to essentially break up the tough parts so that you can pick up the rock easier. Think of it like someone breaking up the soil in your garden with a massive pick axe or big shovel so you can use a little garden shovel to dig easier.
Impressive but no post-Taco Bell blowout.
Take one wrong step and you’ve found yourself suffocating in a dirt grave 😂😂
And that's why electric vehicles are good for the environment.😊
Just like Alfred Nobel's explosives, this will end up with so much deadly military application.
It's already here.
Earth's mass is variable, subject to both gain and loss due to the accretion of in-falling material, including micrometeorites and cosmic dust and the loss of hydrogen and helium gas, respectively. The combined effect is a net loss of material, estimated at 5.5×107 kg (5.4×104 long tons) per year. This amount is 10−17 of the total earth mass.[citation needed] The 5.5×107 kg annual net loss is essentially due to 100,000 tons lost due to atmospheric escape, and an average of 45,000 tons gained from in-falling dust and meteorites. This is well within the mass uncertainty of 0.01% (6×1020 kg), so the estimated value of Earth's mass is unaffected by this factor.

Back in the 1990s i worked for 2 different limestone quarries as a diesel mechanic. At the second Quarry i worked at one of guys thst had been there many years, told mevif a blasting incident there. Apparently the blaster wasnt paying attention,or bad luck. There was a void from the shot pattern, down into the old pit that was full of water about 80' deep. When the shot went off, they all watched as a giant tsunami came up out of the pit,and wiped out the entire asphalt plant, conveyors, etc. Then took out the doors of the maintenance shop and everything inside, then headed towards town. Where the damage was only minor.
The framerate went boom
Did some resource gathering off camera
Wow, wireless detonation. We've really gotten good at blowing crap up!
How do all these huge blasts impact the Earth's tectonic stability?
Far less than the injection of Wastewater into Wells 12000 ft deep where it lubricates the strata. Here's a quote since they don't allow links.
[ The Denver Earthquakes
This earthquake is believed to have been triggered by the deep injection of liquid waste into a borehole at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. It was followed by an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 three months later in November 1967. ]

I live less than 2 miles from a quarry. There is a rumble in the floor when they blast a tiny fraction of what that record did. Probably felt like an earthquake nearby !
Ive seen that video with no background music, and the sound it created was so so satisfying

Dyno Nobel has a plant in upstate ny. A while back, someone drove a forklift into a pallet of high explosives, and it killed employees 3 buildings away. Huge lawsuit
If you look close you will see Tom Cruise running away from it.
Never even made the News here in Australia. 😮
Thought this record belonged to the world trade center 😂😂😂
My only concern is for the failed shots. In 3,899 separate charges your going to have possibly hundreds of failed charges and trust me, if the blasting cap gets crushed and the initiating charge is still in contact, someone is going to have a VERY bad day. The main charge is probably a liquid or pelletized form of anfo or similar explosive and will basically become fertilizer if it didn't set off. The initiating charge on the other hand is much faster and the blasting cap is even more so and much more sensitive to shock.
Nah they got vests on, its all good.
A man with a speech impediment was said to be quote "hunting wabbits"
That’s nothin. Talk to me after a
Taco Bell family pack.
I put new batteries in my remote and this happened 😂
The old blasters don't like electronic dets. Seen the shot go off after powering up the computer. It was already programmed with timing and the shot worked out. It was the issue not being in control of 0ms. Initiation
The clock rolled back?
I tend to agree, had experience with both. A crap pattern on the shot could lead to unexplained dead leads on the shot when they had actually gone off. Nothing more fun than walking blasted ground looking for live shot leads.
Machin_Lord has a video with AUDIO
Dyno "Nobel" - same guy as Nobel Peace Prize.
People can’t even fathom how much ore is going to come from that
2194 tons-- almost as much explosive as the Beruit blast. Lots of stuff moved that day, too.
Same stuff mate, exactly the same stuff. Ammonium nitrate, prill and emulsion, where you see the orange means it has a problem, could be not mixed right, too much water, etc etc etc but basically that orange cloud will liquify your lungs if you breathe it and isnt good.
@@Steve211UcdhihifvshiAmmonium Nitrate is Prill. Same thing.
*wireless detonation* shows loads being wired.
And this is why Australians dont need guns!
3899 explosives. You can’t tell me that the 3,900 wasn’t placed in the port a potty .
One hole got backfilled by mistake :)
bc THAT spells environmental stability.
I also heard they’re only going to do 2 more, bigger blasts before scaling back down again. It’s a lot to clean up at a time and you can only hire so many people.
Electronic blast ? OMG you got it all backwound . The system is called NON-EL for Non Electronic .
Electronic means every cap has a chip in it and is programed to go off at a certain millisecond.
Nonel is totally different, where each cap has a set delay
Timing with nonel is done by surface delays that have there own set of delay times.
Hope this made sense to you..
‼️‼️‼️I wonder why they don’t use rockets instead of dynamite🤔
Too expensive
@achasilas6535 Imagine if we blew up the Alps, Himalayas, Atlas, Taurus and Andes, what would happen? I think Europe's climate will be warm and there will be no snow
I feel like one phone call could be bad news.
That’s me on an average day on the toilet 😂
I dont know anything about mining, but something feels off here. 2195 tonnes of explosives for only 3899 holes?
That would mean 563 kg per hole if distributed equally.
It seems like its either to many tonnes of explosive (maybe kg instead of tonnes) or it should be more holes.
now you need a computer to do what a burning fuse has done for century's.
Your voice over ruins the moment. The original video is soothing and satisfying
I helped make the ammonium nitrate.
You mean by pooping?
I have never trusted remote or any kind of wireless means to set off explosives when I was in the Army. 50% of the time there would be a miss fire and some Soldiers has to go down to find out what problem was.
I worked in the mines for a while. Usually I was the last man out of the hole and they could not blow until the board was clear. One evening as I grabed my tag I asked if they were getting ready to blow, they said yes, on impulse I asked can I push the button, they said it was not a big blow, I said I dont care I just want to push the button , just once. I did and felt the ground rumble. Pretty cool, then I went and washed my ute before heading to camp for dinner.
A cool day.
I used to work for BHP in South Africa
I'm just wondering how long it took from the first hole drilled to the last explosive to be set?
Wireless detonation , what could possibly go wrong 😩
pfft you guys are all ignorant. its been a thing for a decade. Not like the movies, its safe. the mining industry is highly regulated, especially in australia.. Its much much safer than non el or detcord.
Digishot, heck yeah I used to love DIGIMON ! 🐉
Would be nice to hear audio of that!
Remember me? You're making it.
Will Mother Nature exact retribution in exchange?

These smart home devices are getting out of hand.
Wireless ? sheesh I’d trust hardwired over wireless explosives any time 😮
So pretty much every hole got half a ton of explosive yet you showed a clip of an explosion that doesnt weigh anywhere near half a ton.
What the hell are you talking about? This wasn't a 40 ft by 40 ft plot of garden. This was Acres upon Acres of area to be blasted. Those holes may have been 40 60 ft deep and six to eight inches across. Can easily imagine putting a thousand pounds down a whole that big. It's not Dynamite it's a composition that has more of a heaving effect than a shattering effect.

Thank you miners. Don't tell Greta about this one.

I wonder how they get around the issue or if it is an issue of duds ones that don't explode due to the receiver being destroyed before detonation by a nearby explosive
