Thank you so much Doctor for this video. I just want to clarify, in the accommodation reflex, will a near object in the right eye field cause bilateral pupillary constriction? or only unilateral constriction? thank you
Why doesn't the light reflex also cause thickening of the lens? Shouldn't the parasympathetic fibers that cause both thickening of lens and pupil constriction in accomodation also do so during light reflex??
During light reflex, there is no need for lens thickening, so only fibres supplying sphincter pupillae muscles are actived. But in accommodation reflex, we focus on near object so the lens gets thickened up to change its focal length as compared to camera where lens moves forward and backward to change its focal length. Therefore ciliaris has also to be activated during accommodation.
according to your video information from from optic tract going to both pretectal nucleus, which is wrong according to parsons, guyton, vishram singh, and to world of ophthalmology
I can’t tell you how much you helped…. Thank you so much

Why still there is pupil constriction in Argyll robertson if pretectal nuceus is damaged. I think there should be pupil dilation instead...
Manual focus please
Focus gets disturbed a lot
And thanks, helped a lot, sir
Okay and thanks

Kaplan is not any standard textbook they are just notes...my reference is from Grays textbook of anatomy which is a standard textbook for anatomy.
