Lufi XS OBD2 Gauge - How to load custom PID's to view SST temps reported by the TCM on an Evo X!

- In today's Evo video I show how to load custom PID's so that you can view SST temp and odd and even clutch temps on the Lufi Xs OBD2 gauge.
Since upgrading to the Dodson Heated Sump, I have always based my SST temps from the readout of that device.
I supplementarily used the Advanced EX plugin for Mitsubishi on Torque pro to see what that developer thought was reported by the TCU. The Advaned EX plugin inaccurately reported even and odd clutch temps. That plugin has been pulled from the play store this year.
The Lufi XS is the solution you need to more accurately report SST temps for you Evo X. It is however, still reporting a mixture of SST oil temp and ambient air temparatures via the oem TCU's hybrid equations. Further reading about this can be found from the technical manual for the SST transmission here under the heading "Temperature sensor" - www.instagram....
Special thanks to Pawel on Instagram Venom86pl who reached out to me, confirming the PID works after seeing my post and video! - / 6532591130140867
Summary of the steps;
1 copy all files and folders from the lufi device to your PC
2 copy the software update from the Lufi site to your Lufi device
3 copy the Mitsubishi PID from the Lufi site to your Lufi device.
4 connect the Lufi device to your OBD2 port in your car and setup the PID's as per my video.

Just bought this for my 2008 Renault Clio Sport 197. Just running default screens so far (have only adjusted scan time to improve RPM response time). GPS works well, but loses signal in heavy clouds or with line-of-sight interference. I had an Ultragauge in another car (VW Bora V6 4-motion), but this is much better and of course, fully customisable. Great vid.
I think you will enjoy it. Its been running great for me🤜🤛
yo great video bro, just explored my lufi xs and just unlocked the transmission temp on my isuzu mux, good thing i found your video and helped me navigate the obd
Very detailed video.
If you believe your sst temp is constantly out by 6 or 7’C, it is possible to have it calibrated in the equation of the PID settings.
E.g., if the equation is Data -40 and you think the numbers you have is 7’c too low, you can then change the equation to data -33.
Another way to calibrate the temp reading would be turn on the gauge after the car sat overnight and see if your SST temp is matching with water temp. All fluid should be at the same temp cold before starting the car.
It's not that it's actually out, the Mitsubishi sensor uses the real oil data temp and then looks at ambient air temp and reports that value together from the TCM to the ECU. There will always be a variation between real oil data temp and the PID value which I know can be modified if you check my previous Evo vid 👍
in 37:14 The turbo adjust, is recommended at 0% I don't know if I have to put a value because I see i mine is at 21.7 psi and doesn't move
If the Lufi would allow you to add your gear ratios and wheel speed.
It would be able to figure out what gear you're in, that would be a sweet addition.
I need to wait for them to update the Engine Oil Temp for my car.
Shame there is no way to contact them directly
Cable pictured is Micro USB, most Android phones used it before everything went to USB-C.
those type cables are notoriuous for failing, I've gone through many similar ones, if any probs with connections suspect the cable first, best to have a spare one on hand I reckon
no oil temp showing on toyota fortuner 2006?
My Lufi XS shows my water temp goes up to 102celcius while the car dashboard only shows a stable 90celcius. Dunno which one is accurate. Now i doubt the boost readings on my XS too. Help! Car is an A4 B8 1.8tfsi.
The lufi gauge will be accurate. Car temp gauges sit at 90 usually because most people don’t understand the fluctuations in temp and would end up worrying about it. It’s virtually impossible to keep the water at a stable temperature with changing variables such as cooled air speed, engine revs, oil temp ext.
Does your car show 90C or is it just a analog gauge?
Analog gauges these days are controlled by the ECU and they will show a "Normal" temp for what ever the manufacture defines as "Normal" for that car.
The ECT sensor is reporting the true temp to the ECU but the ECU is dumbing it down for you.
This is because in the past when engine coolant temperature sensors were controlled by a thermocouple, the needle would start creeping up to H when stopped in traffic and people would panic.
After market gauges will also do this, but your average driver is not installing after market gauges.
How do you set the lufi gauge to c:/userpid/lancer2011 i have a Ford st250 and it just says c:
Hey bro great video here but i have a question when I start my car the lufi gauge it turn on and show's the lufi logo , is there a way to change it to my car logo (honda)
Does the Air Fuel work? I have one on my Honda and it always reads 14.6 AFR
I also see yours showing 14.6
@@delanoyoutoob I removed afr and just rely on my afr wideband gauge. I pretty much just display water temp SST clutch and oil temps. Boost and AFR via gauges.
Lufi XS I can't read Toyota Vios 2023 CVT temperature, Please advise. Plug in honda HRV 2023 can read has no issue thanks.
I don't do fault finding for other people's cars
hey bro, have you fixed the issue? currently have the same problem but mine was Toyota Vios 2019
Does it work on Renault vehicles from 2014 onwards?
Are you guys using Windows 11? USB Mass Storage mode is not being detected on my PC on Win11. Driver errors when plugging in.
Thinking about buying one for my wrx
It should work, check the website for their Subaru listing
@@TweakedGSX their website is in Chinese only I couldn’t understand lol

Thanks for this!
No problem 👍
After having this a few weeks, my custom PID for gear temp doesn’t update properly. I have to switch between different screens for the temperature number to update/increase. Do you have this problem or does your SST temp gradually go up, no matter which screen you are on in the lufi?
@@lukasbernard1367 go to system setup time loop and try increasing the value by 50 until it doesn't occur.
@@TweakedGSX thanks, I’ll increase the PID loop time and give that a shot
Hi, thank you for your guidance. It helps me a lot. My car is Pajero Sport. It said Time Out for TFT. Do you have any suggestions for this matter? Thanks
You will need to provide a lot more info
@@TweakedGSX Thanks for your reply. I am trying to find the correct response from ECU.
@@thaituandat31 sorry this isn't enough info. You literally need to fully explain in about 10 sentences. What and when the error occurs and what settings you have chosen
Have you noticed any delay in getting signal? or it comes instantly with turning engine on?
No I haven't. Check your minimum voltage settings in the menu
Is the RPM adjustable past 9000rpm?
I need Subaru System, pleased help
I wonder if this device would work on an outlander 2003 ( similar to airtrek in usa)
Only the phev is listed with PID but basic functions should Work
thanks for reply, outlander 2003-2006(airtrek also I assume as its same era), use the earlier mut2 communication ( obd1) I'm really after something that can give gearbox temps, the basic info I can get using obd converter designed to work with mut2 i.e converts the mut2 signals to obd2 type signal, its made by a guy in canada. I guess there is some possibility lufi device might recognise the obd signals of the converter but no idea on that really.
@@TweakedGSXguy in canada who makes the obd1 t obd2 converter ( mut2 to obd)
is this youtuber ( converter i'm using not shown in his vids though it only shows his newer version)

Have you got yours set up to display knock counts? I manage to get it on to the pid but when I've loaded it on to the screen it's just saying time out. Any ideas why?
I don't. I've hardly driven the Evo since breaking the record. I drive/ride my other vehicles a lot more. I only bought this item just to get proper idea of how the gearbox temps are. You can try contacting Lufi, or checking that the parameters are setup the same as the known PID 's
hello mate, does it has oil pressure reading?
It does not because the factory ecu does not report oil pressure
Hi. i am thinking about buying a lufi xs. Does the device drain power from the car battery while the car is off?
No it doesn't
Hi mate…. Do you encounter when u off and on the engine…. All the save setting is lost?
Never had that problem no
Too bad im facing with this problem…. Did the software update…. Still the same… neway thanks mate
iam using lancer gt.i cant find custom pid for cvtf temp.all custom pid cant read
There isnt one
Just got mine today. It now has usb C
Yep mine too. Make sure you use a good cable some of the Amazon ones only are good for charging
Same, Just got one, it came with firmware v2.14 and it has USB-C.
Glad it uses it.
Did you notice if the water temp was accurate?
Yes it is cycling around 85 degrees and hearing the fan relays
@@TweakedGSX nice. I haven’t been actually been able to find anywhere on the net. What’s the actual normal running temp for an sst evo? I see around 85-89
@@adamhumphrey5130 yes the water temp will cycle between 85 to 91 degrees celcius

Could it be possible to use those PID’s for torque?
