Oh my, Kevin, the last few minutes of this episode are just hilarious! And you even laughed (or at least, chuckled) at yourself! Simply perfect. For a while you were 18 years old on a camping trip. From the not-so-free solo motorcycle parking to the sacrificed fresh salmon sandwich to the pot noodles! Loved it! And there you were worried about going off script. Glad you didn’t edit out those scenes! Good job, sir. 😂
I look forward to every episode but that was the best yet. 🤣😂 At last some rain! The trick is to put some hot water in a thermos before it rains. Thank you so much. I love all you do.
I ate cold tins of soup for lunch for 5 years at work. Was better than going into the awful staff room with people! 😄Excellent vlog Kevin, so interesting and the scenery is absolutely stunning, thank you 👍

Many thanks Jillian. I'm enjoying this scenic and creative adventure. Incredible that these natural unspoilt places are, almost, on our doorsteps, so to speak.
Yes indeed, I’m glad you’ve got your motorcycle and are taking this road trip to these gorgeous, amazing Scottish vistas. Even with hail and rain, you bring us so much to enjoy. Thanks! Thanks, Kevin!

Well done, Kevin! Been with you since Season One-enjoying the chug of Aslan & now hearing the purr of your BMW. Thank-you! for stopping on the old stone bridge & panning left & Pausing to view the waterfall! Also, I don't think I acknowledged my appreciation of the earlier tour of the ruined castle. You truly Are taking us along & it's much-appreciated! Ride safe, my friend🏍️
Oh, are you da man on Mull! Cold prepackaged, soup? Dude a loaf of bread. Mustard and cold cuts. Wear a back pack for your food. I do love this show. Drive safe cause you make my Friday.
I've been giving his dilemma some thought... cold cuts need to be kept cold & a loaf of bread is bulky. I grew up camping & my mom packed Ritz crackers (don't know if they have them in the UK, but any cracker will work), applesauce pouch, potted meat (I know, blah, but my mom loved potted ham) and PEANUT BUTTER - great protein & very filling. Also some small cans of juice -- all shelf stable & not too bulky. Ritz comes in sealed portions so no box to pack. I really hope he doesn't need to go through this again. I really wanted to hand him a hot latte.
Loving your Scottish expedition Kevin. That parking issue would have wound me up no end. The coffee booth is clearly parked on the motorcycle bay so I would have done exactly the same and told her what to do with the coffee and sandwich I was going to buy 😂 that cold pot noodle had me in stitches. The imminent cold Baxter’s soup soon sobered me up. Must have been like eating the end result of a heavy night out 😂
Great vlog Kevin. What a show you give us. You are certainly are a Country house Gent, it shows in your driving capabilities as well. So pleased you enjoyed your 'cold pot noodles ' lol. We certainly had a laugh with you. Stay safe 🎉😊
Mad--in a good way LOL. Took a bus from Craignure to Fionnphort 40 years ago. When I purchased the tickets in Oban, the nice guy selling the ticket corrected my pronunciation. "It's Finnefert" (accent on first syllable). Who knew? Anyway, one of the best bus trips ever. My 6-year-old at the time giggled the whole way because she was getting bounced around so much. Anyway, thanks for taking me on a wonderful trip down memory land.
Hi. Shame you didn’t go to the free car park at Fionnphort just near the ferry. Hat said food at the seafood shack make the small parking fee well worth paying
Unfortunately the sea food shack is situated on the only two free motorcycle parking bays - I refuse to pay a 'fee' in order to buy food. Yes a shame. I've heard good things about it.
Thoroughly enjoying your travels and the scenery has been amazing, shame about the rain keep em coming between you won't want to go back to the boat after this although I suppose that will be a rest after your travels 😊
Oh Kevin, You and your pot noodle had me laughing so much it brought tears to my eyes! However, it was a beautiful campsite, despite the weather. I was once caught in a hail shower, and boy, did it sting! I loved the light and shade on the hills as you were travelling along. I often look out my lounge window and see the same on the hills beyond Portree. Scotland is an ancient, wild and beautiful country which I am pleased to call home.
It was an unusual way to spend two days and nights Connie - if only I'd stopped at that Spar shop coming off the ferry 😁 You're blessed to live in such a rugged and natural part of the UK.
Someone might have already chimed in, but for your next trip it might be worth it to invest in some flameless ration heaters and reusable mylar pouches for moments like your two days of not having access to a stove. Both are pretty affordable.
Wow, what absolutely beautiful scenery. Like you, I prefer to do things on my own, but I like to think of myself as more of a glass half full kind of guy so I would say it's more like 50/50 as far as meeting good people vs people who are a pain in the ole proverbial. lol. Being the proverbial nice guy sometimes gets you stepped on and/or taken advantage of, but I prefer going through life that way instead of being just another pain in the you know what. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Did not comment last video but I thoroughly enjoyed that and this one. I'm living vicariously through you as I had more hospital days this year than ever. Also sold my H-D Street 750, last one, I can't seem to ride any more. Your comment about 8 out of 10, I'm raising to 9. Hard to see the interest of the people today and they will need to speak first. Love the scenery and glad to see you are not rushing. Happy travels and be safe and take care ! Hope you got a still from the stone bridge.
I feel your pain of not being able to ride any more. Biking is far more than a means of transport, it in the blood, a spiritual experience. Hope the road trip gives some motorcycling 'fix' to you sir.
Perfect camping spot Kevin. Beautiful even with the rain. Every now and then crunchy noodles may have to be eaten. The view is unbeatable. Happy travels. And don't forget to put your toes in the sand now then. Thank you!
I did a similar trip to Cornwall in my teens on my salvaged and rebuilt 1963 Vespa 160 and I had an old canvas tent with a fly sheet (I think it's in the loft somewhere) but it was at least a bigger than yours I could sit up and cook! pure luxury 🤣🤣🤣🤣 great trip Kevin and I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride - thank you!
Okay Kevin, now I am officially jealous of your Highland motorcycle tour. This scenery draws me in despite the hail and above 55deg Lat. What incredible landscapes... almost lunar! The reference to Scottish poets... it burns me to say I can't think of any offhand ;) . Love the witty narration!!! Keep safe and keep on keepin' on! Cheers from MS, USA.

Real, indeed! The good, the bad, and the crunchy cold pot noodle. 😱 But oh, what awesome vistas along the way, and the weather has been so amazing for so long. Thanks, as always, for the ride, Kevin. And for keeping it real. Always.
I’m constantly amazed by how beautiful this trip has been. Also, that over the millennia, it’s in large part remained in its natural state. What a great trip!👍 Loved your willingness to work with what you have. I never thought of cup noodles as gazpacho before but hey well done, or rather undone.😉
Kevin can I just say you done awfy well coping with the motorcycle parking issue, I was livid watching this and for 1 will not go near the jobsworths place. You are doing an amazing job 👏 wee shame for you with the pot noodle, felt awfy bad for you. Your a born survivor and adventurer, and I for 1 quote you to folks when I'm on my travels as your an inspiration. 😊 See ya Friday 😂🏴
@CountryHouseGent most definitely, us bikers are often the under dogs yet we pay our road tax like everyone else. Anyway thank you for taking time to respond to me 😊. Good times 👌
Oh my gosh that was so beautiful! How I wish I could live over there! I hope the developers never ruin it! But I laughed like crazy at the end! You need to buy some protein bars for those emergency food events! LOL!!
I so love your videos and am very much enjoying this special trip. As others have commented, your "it's raining outside the tent, and I'm eating crunchy noodles inside it" soliloquy left me laughing! Absolutely wonderful! I do sometimes hope (although it is a part of what makes you you) that you'll reconsider your the "most people aren't worth much" references. I observe that you've met quite a few fundamentally decent people...just in the years' worth of your videos that I've enjoyed. And I'll offer up my lived experiences which, while often challenging, have taught me something different. At any rate, these "travel docs" are wonderful and the vistas on the trip are stunning. Seeing some of the Scottish islands is on my bucket list, and it isn't in the cards just now, so your unique motorcycle view is a real treat! Like others, I look forward to the next one. Peace! Thank you! And blessings on the journey!
Many thanks Clare and pleased you're enjoying the road trip series. You're quite correct, there are many decent people out there and I've met quite a few over the years. 🙂
I have been following you for some time and although I enjoy your adventures on the narrow boat this motorcycle tour is excellent. Thanks for producing it for us
I like the way you wave at oncoming vehicles. I’m assuming they wave at you! It reminds me of driving the country roads here in Kentucky and waving to the farmers in their trucks. It’s a far cry from living in New Jersey where the common signal from other drivers was the middle finger salute.
As someone who grew up on a NJ farm, seconded. Thank you, Kevin et al., for sharing the road! This guy gets that not everyone needs to be in such a rush all the time. Edit: P.S. The old Boy Scout motto we learned was, "Be Prepared"! Not bad to have your multitool at all times, and this episode underscores how thinking ahead can make things all the easier :)
What the hail. Eh? Ouch! Funny when you were talking about how rugged and self sufficient one would have to be to live out there. Then you ran smack dab into a tourist trap with dated signage in two places as to steel horse parking. Once parked in the designated spot you were promptly told your bike would be demolished if you left it there. I'll just bet the "fresh" salmon sandwiches were anything but that. I am with you on getting to know people along your travels and agree with the eight out of ten pain ratio. Location dependent.
Rsally enjoying your travels Kevin. That campsite was idyllic! Bet you were desperate for a decent hot meal after cold pot noodle and soup!😁 Looking forward to the next adventure, hope the weather got better for you. ❤
What an amazing campsite vista! Too bad it had to rain. I do agree with another commenter, look into MRE's with heaters for your emergency meals, they served me well in the Army.
Beautiful campsite. Was there a few years ago and took day trip over to Iona. Well worth the visit despite being so commercialised since my first visit 46 yrs ago. Better with sandwich or cold beans than crunchy pot noodles and cold soup lol. Loving following your trip.
Kudos to you for sticking it out in the tent. I'd have been to the nearest Inn toot sweet! Prolly just as well you didn't have much to eat. Having to use the loo would be a problem in such weather! No details need be shared, thanks. 😆
Hey, hey, hey it's Friday! I get to wake up and watch your new journey and the opening of the Olympics today! Ride safe out there. -Cheers from Seattle! (and NOT a cuppa cold soup cheers) 😂
Hahaha. Sorry, Kevin. I'm laughing at your expense, but it was hilarious. It was so great seeing the countryside & the little sheep, then you ended up scrunched into a ball, drinking cold , crunchy ramen. Then you lined up some cold canned broth for the next night. I think you qualify for a hero button and maybe a "Survivor!" stripe on your jacket.
@@CountryHouseGent Yes! Or "I Survived Cold Soup & Noodles". I had to come back & re-watch the ending for another laugh. I'd be crying, but you were making faces & it didn't seem to faze you one bit. Just, "oh, well". We could all learn something from you.
That hail was wild, Kevin, especially on a bike-and two days of hunkering down with only soggy pot noodles & cold broth🙁. But I must say, you handled it like a travel pro…way to persevere💪🏻! I’m glad you could enjoy the beach for a bit in the sunshine & hope you were able to snag a salmon sarnie later. As always, top-quality commentary, filming, & editing…cheers!😃
Back when, I was In basic training for the USAF, ( 1976 )we had a confidence course trading day and our lunch was a 1945 “ C “ ration , cold roast beef in a can , a peanut butter cracker thingy, and a pall mall cigarette in a wax tube . Some salt pepper and a bit of chewing gum. So I can feel your pain on a cold meal when necessary.
😱I’d rather eat dry crackers but great to see you still smiling in the face of adversity! Ow, Oh, Ee hailstorm……. that was also funny! Great scenery/vistas. 🎶 Into the valley…Ahoy! Ahoy! Land, sea and sky... 🎶 (The Skids btw)🙂
Absolutely Spectacular Camping spot... Wow💚💚💚3 Scotland Stars.. Cheers mate. Its 85F and a milder day here in Idaho. Been in the 95-100 for 2 weeks, need a break.
Thanks for taking us on your journey. Couldn't you have asked the van next to you for some hot water? As a motorhomer, I would have happily boiled a kettle for your Bombay Bad Boy.
when i went camping centuries ago 😆 i always had 2-4 of the mre's that cook/heat themselves. pretty xpensive at the time($8-12) but a life saver in bad weather and if it didn't rain then it was good for next time.
Ermm what kind of stove do you have?..we.ve cooked manys a time inside a tent..as long as your careful and ventilate..didn't understand. And the.food from that Seafood Bar is really good. Hope you tried it before you left .
The stove is a Coleman 533 multi fuel. It burns unleaded petrol, so gives off carbon monoxide. I didn't buy from the seafood bar as I was unable to park (the premises occupy the bike parking spaces). 🙂
Thanks Kevin, for taking us along on this wonderful bike adventure but I must say that you are a Hero, I thought that through thick and thin I've been able to avoid starvation by using my noggin, a bit of ingenuity but I think you've just beat me. The "Bad Boy" is just about edible due to the very hot sauce so maybe you did yourself a favour by using cold water, lol. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Looking at that car park, I'm pretty sure the 'snack hut' was taking up the solo m/c bay...you weren't supposed to park in front. So who told you the m/c bays were no longer free? Bet it was the lady in the snack hut...who has been 'parking' there for free for 10 years!
That is some beautiful country. I think you would really enjoy riding the Rocky Mountains here in the western US. Vistas in every direction you look. Ride safe. Did this trip coincide with the Isle of Mann TT?
Hi Kevin, hope you are keeping well, thankyou for another excellent vlog, for the first time I am looking forward to watching all the Scotland bike journeys linked together for one continuous journey, they're that good. Is someone looking after ASLAN for you 🤗👍

An enjoyable ride, felt, and thought I was riding along with you. The country was something I have never seen before,,,thanks
You're very welcome Wayne, thank you.
Yep it doesn't take much for one person to alter your enthusiasm for something. Was quite looking forward to a decent sandwich (so I'd been told).
Wonderful stuff . Brilliant .
Lord Byron is my fav. Havin' a bit a "Waste Land" over the Pond just now.
Rsally enjoying your travels Kevin. That campsite was idyllic! Bet you were desperate for a decent hot meal after cold pot noodle and soup!😁 Looking forward to the next adventure, hope the weather got better for you. ❤
Many thanks. Yes I couldn't wait to get to Tobermory and enjoy a hot meal and drink. 🙂
What an amazing campsite vista! Too bad it had to rain. I do agree with another commenter, look into MRE's with heaters for your emergency meals, they served me well in the Army.
Cheers. Next time I'll be 'even more' prepared.
Friday again! New Kevin again. Oh yes!❤️
You are a stronger man than I am, I check into the nearest hotel (or crazier.)
Seems to me the portable coffee/snack cabin was dumped in the motorcycle bays. 🤷
Maybe a t shirt saying "I ate cold soup & noodles"? 😁
@@CountryHouseGent Yes! Or "I Survived Cold Soup & Noodles". I had to come back & re-watch the ending for another laugh. I'd be crying, but you were making faces & it didn't seem to faze you one bit. Just, "oh, well". We could all learn something from you.
You've kept your sense of humor, and i am enjoying your adventure immensely! Keep the rubber side down!
Great to hear you're enjoying the series and thank yo for watching.
I suffer the pain and anguish Mark, so you don't have to. 😆
@@CountryHouseGent 🤣
If you get a chance Fort William to Rannoch Moor railway station, fab ride the station has a cafe last time I went. Very remote
Ha that sounds like a proper banquette and I'd even have stretched to the one cigarette for the full on experience. 🙂
Kevin, that beach is amazing! Where was that? Thanks
Hi Ian. I can't remember exactly but the details are in the video. Cheers for watching.
I just howled at your supper of crunchy pot noodles. All laughing aside the scenery was amazing. Love your videos 😍
I'm a bit useless at most things on internet. If I was able I would buy you more than one coffee.
Love your bike trip hope you do more 😊
Thank you Brian. So do I, that's the plan. 🙂
Absolutely Spectacular Camping spot... Wow💚💚💚3 Scotland Stars.. Cheers mate. Its 85F and a milder day here in Idaho. Been in the 95-100 for 2 weeks, need a break.
Wow, that sounds hotttttt. 🥵
Thanks for taking us on your journey. Couldn't you have asked the van next to you for some hot water? As a motorhomer, I would have happily boiled a kettle for your Bombay Bad Boy.
In hindsight that would've been the logical thing to do, but I get shy about things like that amd don't want to intrude.
Hail yes! Another great video, except for the rain. Such gorgeous scenery.
when i went camping centuries ago 😆 i always had 2-4 of the mre's that cook/heat themselves. pretty xpensive at the time($8-12) but a life saver in bad weather and if it didn't rain then it was good for next time.
I wasn't aware of these meal before, Ian but I'm being told some good things about them. Next time, hey. 🙂
@@CountryHouseGent yah, they're actually pretty good.
In fact I'll make it a point to get some and do a taste test/review.
Stevie
😁 I do believe the cold water took the edge off it Stevie. Maybe I'll start the next viral craze? 🤔
What a fantastic place!!!
Most definitely James, a room with a view.
Kevin you take care mate...
Looking at that car park, I'm pretty sure the 'snack hut' was taking up the solo m/c bay...you weren't supposed to park in front. So who told you the m/c bays were no longer free? Bet it was the lady in the snack hut...who has been 'parking' there for free for 10 years!
Yes the snack bar was enjoying free parking and yes, it was the owner that warned me off. Bet if I'd put my foot down she'd have backed off.
Epic!
Is someone looking after ASLAN for you 🤗👍
😂😂😂 cold pot noodle - I was laughing along there with you Kevin 😅
Hi Kevin…nice ride on the island till the inevitable rainy days got you! Sorry about the cold soups on your menu! 😅
The big mountain is Ben More, which is just shy of 1,000 m high.
Thanks for the info, that's one big lump of rock.
