    I found a really great metal tone on this by using the Slo100, all the way clean, bass and treble between 1 and 2 o'clock, preamp OD full and volume about 12 o'clock then I ran my guitar through my blackstar LT overdrive and it sounds like a mix of modern metal and metallica

    I got the Amplitude for iPad version and bought the Dimebag Darrell CFH bundle which has really nice presets already. I'm really excited about it, love the Heretic Distortion for example. Great metal tone.

    I have the free version of 5 and you can try before you buy everything I’ve looked into so far I’m assuming everything. I will definitely be trying to convince the better half to let me buy the full version the Z amp with gold alnico and blue alnico IR’s in a twin cabinet panned in opposite directions with a few pedals made the hair on the back of my neck stand up! It was unreal how real it sounded! I am a country rock and metal fan in other words I love real talented music. Great job on the review. My vote is not just YES but HELL YES!

      Yes, I definitely recommend trying these before buying! And there are plenty of awesome tones for county rock as well!

    I purchased version 5 and the Joe Satriani presets. There's a whole lot of crap in there, but there were a few presets I'm just really loving and jamming on all the time. I'm very impressed with the software just on the standalone version with the multitrack recorder you can drag drum tracks into on the fly without having to boot up a DAW. It's like having a Fostex X-15 built into your Peavy 5150 stack! Most of the presets required a bit of tweaking (no 2 guitars will sound exactly the same on identical presets) but for a few hundred bucks - ROCK ON!

    I’m new to the software plugin thing and wanted to like this as I have this product in my Sweetwater cart. But man it sounded kinda bad. Even Pete Thorn’s demo of this product, on the heavier side, left a lot to be desired. I have yet to hear an AT5 heavy tone that sounds good. Nothing at all against your playing. I appreciate this demo.

      Most plugins do leave a bit to be desired, for sure. They're more for practicing and getting down song ideas. Personally, I'd always rather record professional music with a real amp (and that's our approach). But we do have another video here on how to get decent tones with amp sims, in general: ua-cam.com/video/1T0XhPGhyP0/v-deo.html

    I thinking about getting this put onto an iPad for future videos. But I usually do some pretty heavy death metal music so I’m not sure if I have to buy some expansion pack or something.

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  2 роки тому

      This is a decent plugin and I think you can get some good tones out of the basic amps without buying expansions

  • @MatthiasBuesing

    I got the full(er) version (AT5 SE) with my audio interface (IK Multimedia AXE I/O) so I also got the things that makes AT5 much better than AT4 - the VIR technology. And although it is very good and together with the Rectifier (and Mesa traditional cab) that I purchased earlier Amplitube still is behind Neural DSP.
    For people seeking a full blown suite with hundreds of gear items I can really recommend getting at least the SE version (~100$) and maybe particular amps, cabs or pedals that might not be included. If you are looking for the best amp sims, Neural DSP still rules.
    BTW: did you already checked out their Archetype Gojira? It's so massive! \m/
    At least I love IK's marketing approach - buy a basic version and then only pay for items you want. You can even test 'em out for a few days, that's pretty cool to my mind!

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  3 роки тому

      Yeah, 5 is far from 4!! Haven't played the Gojira yet. We do have a video on Fluff's free amp sim here and that was decent: ua-cam.com/video/DgvRZ4y_-Cg/v-deo.html

    Nah, that tone wasn't great, but I have Amplitude 4 full version & the possibility to put 2 amp chains in parallel can give you a huge sound tailored to your tastes. It's a good software overall. My only problem is that I was never able to make my Behringer FCB1010 foot controller to work with it. With no foot controller, all the combination & sounds available in Amplitube can only be accessed 1 at a time. Although this looks like a minor problem, it isn't because one would want to unlock sound change and use Amplitube as a composition tool along with its built-in recording/looper features.

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  2 роки тому

      'Great' is definitely subjective. I've never tried using hardware with it but that would be convenient

    Having a similar problem when I download the newer Amplitube 5. It means I have to delete all the drivers and Asio program and then download the manager. I have to reinstall the lot and then Amplitube 5 for it to configure properly. I won't try at mo just in case it does not install.

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  3 роки тому +1

      I think in that situation you'd want to reach out to Amplitube's support (not sure how great that is)

    I did have a version of AT a number of years ago and this version kind of threw me with the newer look - I found the adding of FX really clunky and found that I had a limited number of FX slots (probably because it's free?) before and after the cab quite a shock after using Bias FX2, and then springing for the middle tier product. I did get the SLO100 and Dual Rec plugin with this suite when they had a free offer but it didn't quite gel with me. Comparing the tone you got with this plugin and Bias FX for the same riffs, I think I'll stick with Bias for the meantime. Though the produced mix sounded *really* good - when do we get a course on THAT???

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I'm a big fan of the BIAS stuff as well! And, dude, Ken and I are in the middle of creating a complete production course!! That will be released later this year!!

    OMG u just demoed it perfect....how are you getting the effects like distortion and everything while you play??? i cant get anything but a clean channel no effects when set to ASIO....which is the only setting for me with the lowest latency. sorry for spamming your comments but i would really appreciate a hand here...im about to return my interface because i have no use for it....i don't record right now.....i just wanna use the sims!!

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  3 роки тому

      It's hard to say without seeing it. But it could be that you're settings aren't correct in your DAW. Try getting into a forum for the DAW you're using. It could also be a setting on your interface (there's a knob that needs to be turned one way to get the sounds from the plugins).

      That’s a question you would need to ask Amplitube (we cannot speak for them).
      Also, if you’re serious about your record, strongly recommend getting the premium version. And more importantly, having a decent budget for promoting it.
