The husbands acting is so good here. The "ill try to save you wife" attitude when in truth he is just testing her and observing how she fights. He also makes her believe that he is just some loser when infact he is a wolf in sheeps clothing ready to slaughter when the time is right.
I love the part where they are ambushing her husband and thought he doesn't know martial arts and told him they can kill him painlessly with two stabs of the sword and he replied " how do you know its painless when you've never died before". LOL
one of the few Chinese kung fu movies worth mentioning in the western world....... this is one of the best, if not better but may be as good as crouching Tiger....
